I got distracted for a moment and lost all momentum on this. I want to write up a whole thing about the loser's pit to give a bit of lore to how second chances were won (and also post all the lovely bribe lore and inspiration!) but for some reason that's a challenge for me right now (it's mental health. that's the reason).
Basically: Executive Function doesn't and perfectionism sucks. But I really want to get back to this, so I'm going to start small by setting up the next round and I'll post the mini-fics when I can!
(Setting up the next round will take some time but I'm working on it!)

Honestly I think he won by being emotionally vulnerable and talking about his childhood until Charlie took pity on him. But like, the awkward kind of pity.

Artemis Victory!
Lore Update:
In round 1 Artemis just sat on a folding chair in the middle of the stage, reading The Iliad in the original Greek.
...
That strategy was taken away from him in round 2 the second Tigerstar saw Firestar walking in with Artemis.
So for an hour a day, every day for a week Artemis had to wrestle and pin a very feral cat that was out for his blood. And blood he got! Artemis is extremely scratched up, and will have some distinctive scars for the remainder of VilCon. Scars and! at least two rounds of victory.
Here are some things said by Tigerstar to Firestar in the past:
“Keep your eyes open, Fireheart. Keep your ears pricked. Keep looking behind you. Because one day I'll find you, and then you'll be crowfood.”
“You speak from your heart, young Firepaw. This will make you a stronger warrior one day." said Lionheart
Tigerclaw growled. "Or it might make him give in to kittypet weakness right at the moment of attack”
He's really not happy rn..
