i swear i jump between wanting to draw in more stylized and "simple" way or more detailed and sort of semi-realistic or one of five billion other things on a whim

did some random expression doodles based off one of those expression sheet images that everyone's seen around on the internet a billion times, to varying degrees of success
I'm not really big on I5 or J3 personally but the rest are fine... G6 is my favourite and it's the first one i made so, take that as you will I guess
I chose these by generating a random number and letter each time hence the tonal whiplash
ill put the original expression sheet under the cut:
I believe this is the source

(source: electronic gaming monthly issue 165)
I originally just saw the Heather one in a Discord server I'm in and was curious about the source since I'd never seen it before, when looking at it for myself after they told me I also saw that claudia one lol
It's from a review of the game from April 2003, so they'd only played a demo as the game wasn't fully released iirc.
It's interesting anyway! I mostly just thought the caption was funny and wanted to see the full context tho, lol

You come up with such great OCs! Do you have any advice for someone who has a lot of trouble crafting their characters?
everyone youve ever met has a story to tell and therefore everyone youve ever met would make an interesting character. very rarely do you need to try to pull reference from things youve seen succeed in media to make a good character, rather you need to look out to other people and try to understand them through the ways you are similar and dissimilar. youll realize we've all played eachother's parts in this play at different times, and then imagining a character like them becomes as simple as writing about someone you care about.
