And pals were like: "IT'S THEY/THEM", "IT'S PITY SHE HAS «SHE» PRONOUNS".

It's kinda telling that out of dozen of characters they recognize as "them/them" the one who is canonically out of mind and stylized by showrunners as "I can't pick clothes of a proper size even if my life depends on it".

What these people are talking about is simply not true. In a freshly created blog tags under the post are suggested by algorytms and have nothing to do with search history. Later, tags are suggested according to previously used tags.

Recently, I spotted this quote from Chloe Cole which is very on point in my opinion:

"In the 50s the women were expected to cook, clean, and raise kids. In the 2020s if you cook, clean, and raise kids you are a woman."

So, this is a female gender role (or just "gender") — a bunch of expectations, behavioral norms, and stereotypes. In the past, this role was expected to be performed by a person because of her biological sex. These days, it's the other way around: one is considered a woman depending on whether they fit the role.

By gender abolishing, feminists (and I as one of them) mean spreading the idea that these gender roles not only make no sense but are also harmful. That if a girl doesn't want to wear skirts, it doesn't make her less of a girl. That it's not okay to say to a boy "stop crying, men don't cry". That everyone can be anything, can have any personal traits, interests, behaviors, sexual orientation, regardless of their biological sex. (And, as a following, no one needs to change their body to get access to anything of the above.)

As for the second question; I believe that "they" (or something similar) could actually be pronouns for everyone in a post-gender world. In the situation where sex doesn't come with a heavy societal buggage, it possible that people will loose the need to make a distinction between sexes in their speech, and so they'll naturally come to non-gendered pronouns. But this is just an imaginary picture, we don't know how it is (if ever) gonna be.

For now, we don't live in a perfect world, and sex matters a lot socially. By saying "she" or "he" we make it clear if we are talking about a female or a male because it's still important. Also we, humans, are very good at determining sex, so when we are told to use pronouns which is opposite to what we see with our eyes, we tend to experience a cognitive dissonance, and under pressure it's more likely to become more severe than to fade away. Same with "they": commonly, it is used to say "I'm neither a man nor a woman", but this is not what our eyes see and how it is from a biological perspective.

Long story short, I'm open to changing my mind about this topic, but right now I'm up for normalizing being non-conforming rather than naming oneself something else because of non-conformity.

Please, Please, Please understand that the words you say are actively hurting people. You are spreading hate. By doing this, you are just as bad as your oppressors. As an AFAB person, I do understand how horrible it can be to grow up identifying as a woman. And I understand about how it feels to have the system working against you. So does every other trans person.

ive been thinking and it really feels like a lot of, if not the majority of people on radblr are just driven by anger at the world they live in and a general disinterest in making things better for anyone who isn't them. i feel like a lot of the people here end up being very awful to other women because they aren't actually driven by empathy, they're just here to get out some anger at the world. and i think that's understandable but ultimately not useful. a feminist movement needs empathy to survive, it needs people who want to make the world better for all women, not just themselves. and im not sure if that's what we have here.

Seeing the reviews of "left-the-left" neoconservatives and usual conservatives on "Barbie" makes it clearer than ever that feminists and conservatives live on two different planets. Even tho we can have shared interests here and there.

I’m not even same-sex attracted and I’m really getting tired of the “gay marriage was the slippery slope to walking girlfriends on leashes in public and teachers wearing sex toys to school” argument. It literally makes no fucking sense. Marriage between two consenting adults is literally the most normal, mainstream, non-deviant thing you could possibly advocate for. Two people of the same sex being married is only considered deviant because of homophobia and misogyny (marriage as an institution was meant to bind a woman to a man so he’d know he fathered her children, that’s literally it). There is nothing actually deviant about same sex attraction, it is a normal feature of our species. You know what the actual slippery slope was? Allowing porn to become mainstream, pimps to promote “sex work is work”, and allowing men who identify as women to demand that everyone else play pretend. That’s how we got here. Not normal people wanting the right to do a completely normal fucking thing. Holy shit.
