Future Plans
Alright, so I've decided to take a break until we move. Which is fine, it'll give me more room to focus on that. I can make sure the stories are exactly how I want them to be.
With that said, I'm taking Nowhere Generation, my Slime Rancher fic, and postponing it. I need a lot of help with the story and I want to wait until I can actually focus on it. Maybe writing three fics at once is a bad idea, you know?
So Save the World and I'll Follow You 1.1 are on the docket. I'm not sure how I'll deal with uploading IFY, whether I keep the original up and upload the new one as a new work, or if I delete the old one and keep the document for it, just to have. I'm not sure. Save the World though, that one is basically ready. I think I may refine the plot document/rough draft so I make sure I get every detail.

Elwurd Buys Underpants
read on AO3
?????? Elwurd needed some underwear. Inspired by this post.
Elwurd sighed as she strolled into the isle of the men’s underwear department. She relaxed her shoulders as much as she could before starting to browse the options. She could hardly focus on her task, instead glancing everywhere to make sure no men found her. She would be dead where she stood if they did, especially if it was a highblood. When nobody came Elwurd made her move, reaching out and snatching a pack before stepping back again to check for unexpected visitors.
She jumped when she saw him. A jadeblood, staring at her from the end of the isle. Elwurd stood frozen in horror and fear, hoping he would just pass her by. She supposed that maybe since he was a lower caste than her maybe he wouldn’t kill her. Maybe she could just take her god damn underwear and go home, never to tell anyone that she, the mysterious and cool Elwurd, got embarrassed by a guy in the underwear isle at Troll-Mart. Yeah.
The jadeblood grinned, revealing his impressive fangs and Elwurd remembered the stories of rainbow drinkers, seeming kind and motherly and then taking their victims blood. The stories of trolls being taken to the caverns and tortured, having their blood drained by dozens of rainbow drinkers until there was no more to take. Their body would be discarded for wild lusii to eat. Elwurd’s muscles tensed more, ready to run if this stranger decided to attack her. Forget the underwear, she valued her life more than her ass being covered.
“Those are pretty comfortable, yes?” The troll asked.
Elwurd stared at him for a moment before replying. “Uh, yeah haha. I guess they are,” she stammered.
The stranger grinned again, baring his terrifying fangs at Elwurd. She couldn’t tell if his were bigger than hers and that made her nervous. Cautiously, she took two more packs of underwear, placing them under her arm. Elwurd grinned, trying not to look too terrified and started backing up, hoping he wouldn’t follow her.
“I’m not going to suck your blood, if that’s what you’re thinking. Not all jadebloods are like the stories you know. My name is Lanque by the way,” the stranger, apparently named Lanque, said. Elwurd realized his voice was higher than she had originally thought, and as smooth as a purrbeast’s fur.
Elwurd relaxed and chuckled. “I got worried for a second, but I believe you. You can call me Elwurd.”
“It is a pleasure to meet you Elwurd. Oh, and don’t worry, I don’t mind the staring. I know that I am quite a sight to behold,” Lanque said. He didn’t stop grinning but his face seemed more open and friendly now.
“You sure are. Any troll to meet you is a lucky one I’d say. I had better get home, but maybe I’ll see you around?” She chided herself internally for sounding so hopeful.
Lanque didn’t seem to notice. “I do hope so. Enjoy your underwear!”
Elwurd walked out of the isle past Lanque and waved him goodbye. As soon as she got away from him she sighed. That was the most terrifying few moments of her life, and she had spent them talking to someone at Troll-Mart of all places. She kept walking and allowed herself to relax more.
~~~~
Lanque looked through the packages of underwear slowly, taking his sweet, sweet time to pick. That troll had seemed nice and he wondered if she had a matesprit yet. He hoped she did, she had seemed so nice. Maybe it was someone he knew! Lanque began to run through a list of girls he knew. Maybe Tyzias? Or another tealblood like that. Bluebloods such as Elwurd loved to go for teals.
Suddenly a scream pierced the quiet of the store. Lanque jumped, dropping the underwear he was holding. If he wasn’t mistaken, that sounded a lot like how he had imagined Elwurd to sound when she screamed.
No, Lanque you idiot, that sounds creepy. Don’t imagine what trolls sound like when they scream, that makes you crave them. Wait no that’s creepy too. Nevermind.
Lanque stopped his thoughts in their tracks, instead racing toward where possibly-Elwurd’s scream had come from. He skidded to a halt around the corner, met with a horrifying sight. An enormous purpleblood seemed to have decided that it was her day to pick on Elwurd. The blueblood in question was frozen in fear. Her merchandise had been dropped and now laid forgotten on the floor.
Lanque straightened himself, striding forward confidently with his eyes raised to meet the clown’s. He knew how not to let his fear show. Eyes up, shoulders back, fangs bared, but not too much. He smirked at the huge troll just to let her know that he definitely wasn’t afraid. Unfortunately for Lanque, she smirked back. He didn’t let his nerves show through.
“You know, you should really pick on someone a bit closer to your own size miss clown,” He said. His voice came out at the perfect volume and pitch, and low and quiet enough to ensure that the clown knew he was male.
She laughed. “Well where’s the fun in that?”
Lanque was surprised at her voice. He had expected it to be rough but it was exactly the opposite. She spoke quietly, but still loud enough to hear. Her voice was smooth and soft and nothing like any other clown Lanque had met. She was almost... charming in a way.
“I suppose you’re right. Where is the fun in picking on someone your size?” Lanque agreed.
He heard Elwurd make a confused noise before he turned the lights on. The clown’s eyes widened in surprise and fear. She hadn’t realized she was confronting a rainbow drinker. Lanque grinned to make sure his teeth were very visible. The clown looked like she was wondering if she could fight him.
Lanque didn’t give her long to think before he darted in, supplying her with a sharp kick to her stomach. His head dove in and before she could even attempt to fight back he had unhinged his jaw and snapped down on the back of her neck, breaking her spine.
As Lanque extracted himself from his victim he turned to check on Elwurd. She was standing there with her mouth open in shock, staring at him. He supposed it was quite a surprise to see someone of his stature take down such a large troll, and a purple blood at that. He thanked HIC that the store was empty.
“Here,” Lanque said, tossing Elwurd some money, “The underwear are on me. I’ll go take care of her. And don’t worry, she’s dead. Won’t feel a thing. Now I have a meal to enjoy. It’s not often someone like me gets to enjoy blood like hers. See you around!”
With that, Lanque picked up the body as best he could, walking away from the scene of his crime.
Friendly Fire
Read it on ao3
Tempest and Twilight have a sparring match. It’s kinda gay.
Twilight stared at Tempest, watching her and waiting for her attack. It didn’t come, instead the unicorn took on her now well known intimidating stance. She seemed to be waiting for Twilight to attack. If that’s what she wanted then that’s what she would get. Twilight quickly lowered her head, charged up her horn, and fired.
Unsurprisingly, Tempest dodged the attack. She was just a second too late however, and the blast caught her on the flank. The unicorn stumbled and almost fell, just barely catching herself. Twilight heard the crackling of Tempest’s horn mere seconds before the explosions started. Twilight shot upwards, dodging the worst of the colorful magic. She stayed in the air as the attack ended in hopes of being able to avoid anything else.
Tempest stepped toward the center of the room, her head low and horn sparking. Twilight hovered over her head, wondering if Tempest hadn’t seen her fly up. She waited, hoping to spring a surprise attack. The other mare scanned the room with her horn still sparking with power.
As Twilight watched she decided to take this opportunity to check out Tempest’s posture. The unicorn seemed completely relaxed. Her shoulders weren’t tense as Twilight had expected them to be. She was walking slowly in a circle around the center of the now exploded room. She kept her head low and her ears pricked. She had stopped the magic sparking from her horn, leaving the room silent except for Twilight’s quiet wing beats. There was no way Tempest would hear that. She seemed to be looking on the ground anyway, as if she suspected Twilight might use an invisibility spell.
Shit why didn’t I think of that? Twilight thought, now annoyed with herself. Well, it’s too late now, if she doesn’t hear my wings she’ll hear that. I’m surprised she hasn’t looked up yet. It’s almost like she— oh. Suddenly, something very plausible occurred to Twilight. Is she... blind? I mean, it’s possible, she did get hit in the face by an ursa. Maybe she can’t see me.
Twilight didn’t have long to think before she heard Tempest turn suddenly. Her sharp teal eyes were trained on Twilight. She grinned, charging up her horn and lowering her head more.
“I found you, you little rat,” Tempest said, still grinning. Twilight shivered and her face warmed. She barely had time to dodge when Tempest let loose with another attack. Twilight slipped to the side and fired her own back.
Suddenly one of the explosions caught Twilight on the wing, causing the alicorn to crash to the hard crystal floor. She tried to rise to her hooves but Tempest was on her in an instant. Twilight was pinned under an obviously much stronger pony. She had no idea what to do. She hadn’t been trained like Tempest. Twilight tried squirming and shoving her hooves into Tempest’s chest. It didn’t work. Twilight would have to think fast if she wanted to get out of this situation and win. Tempest grinned and Twilight met her eyes. The lavender mare let herself show as much emotion on her face as possible. If Tempest really couldn’t see, she could use that to her advantage.
“You seem to be at a disadvantage little one. What are you going to do, hmmm?” Tempest asked. Her voice was low and almost flirty. If they hadn’t been fighting Twilight would wonder if Tempest was flirting with her. But it seemed like the unicorn couldn’t see the slight fear in Twilight’s eyes. Perfect.
Twilight didn’t respond to the question. Instead she gathered magical energy within her without charging up. She let out a harmless beam aimed at Tempest’s head. It was only meant to surprise the unicorn and it worked. Tempest stumbled backwards, caught off guard. Twilight took the chance to shove her hooves into Tempest’s stomach. She buckled and Twilight took that opportunity to cast a slightly more harmful spell in her opponent’s direction. It hit its target and the mare crumpled. Twilight took a second to relish the bit of smoke rising from the fresh scorch mark on Tempest’s side. She didn’t wait too long however, and leapt on top of her.
Tempest laid there for a moment, panting. Twilight wasn’t going to take any chances, and she covered herself with a shield spell similar to her brother’s. Tempest simply laid there catching her breath, eyes closed. Twilight stared at her. Mostly her jawline, and her eyes, her muscular neck, and— Twilight caught herself staring too much, her face growing hot. It wasn’t like Tempest would know, but Twilight still felt warm with embarrassment over it.
“My side hurts. You win little one,” Tempest murmured.
“You give up too easily Fizzy. I almost thought I would lose!” Twilight replied, giggling a bit.
Tempest opened her eyes and smiled. “You fought well for such a small mare,” she teased. Twilight blushed at the little bit of praise, happy that she had impressed somepony like Tempest.
Twilight stepped back, allowing her friend to get up. Tempest groaned and looked around at her side, sniffing the scorched fur. “Hey! You burnt some of my fur off! I kind of need that you know!”
“Sorry Fizzy, it was the only way I was going to be able to take you down. You’re, uh, really strong,” Twilight laughed awkwardly. She glanced up from staring at the floor and noticed Tempest studying her hooves. The unicorn was blushing though it was hard to tell with her dark fur. Twilight didn’t think her own face could feel any warmer but it did.
“It was a fun fight. But we should probably get cleaned up before this sweat dries on us,” Tempest said with a smile.
The two mares left the sparring room side by side, still slightly out of breath and smiling. Starlight Glimmer was passing by the door as they stepped out. She stared in shock for a moment, probably surprised and the state of her friends. Twilight realized that her left wing stung and her feathers were blackened and askew. Tempest looked no better, with blackened fur on both her face and right flank. They giggled at Starlight’s face and continued on their way to the bathroom together to clean up.
Freedom
Read it on ao3
Tempest Shadow has to get used to being around ponies again. Thankfully she has someone special to help.
“You could stay in my castle for the time being if you like! There’s a lot of room and honestly... even with another pony living there it gets a bit lonely. You’ll love the other pony though! Her name is Starlight Glimmer, she’s great! We can help you get used to having friends! This is gonna be amazing, I can’t wait! Oh god I’m rambling again hehe sorry! But still, would you like to stay with me?”
Tempest chuckled, using it to give herself time to think about Twilight’s offer. It seemed nice of course, a good place with support to get herself on her hooves. She would have to learn about pony culture and manners and... oh no. This was going to be way more difficult than Tempest originally thought. She tried not to let herself get overwhelmed by the thought of the huge task looming ahead of her. Instead she focused on the sound of Twilight’s hoofsteps.
The two mares walked away from Canterlot Castle side by side. Twilight’s other friends had already gone back to Ponyville the day before, Tempest and Twilight had to stay behind to finish some paperwork. Twilight had said not to pay too much attention to. They were apparently just a lot of legal bullshit that said Tempest was nice now.
“So uh, about staying with you. That would probably be a good idea. I’ll be able to, ah, adjust to normal life.” Tempest said quietly. She didn’t really want anypony around to hear that she was basically homeless.
“Great! I’ll get a message off to Spike to set up a room for you then!” Twilight said, and Tempest could hear in her voice the smile that probably adorned her face. How adorable.
The two arrived at the train station seemingly just after a large crowd. Tempest had to focus all of her attention on following the Princess’s hoofsteps only, fearing she would get lost in the crowd. She wasn’t used to this many ponies surrounding her. It felt wrong, overcrowded, and scary. Where was Twilight, were those her hoofsteps? No that wasn’t Twilight. Who was that? Who was anyone?
Tempest tried to use her nose, maybe that would work. She took a deep breath as well as she could under her circumstances. The smells of hundreds of ponies and their belongings washed over the mare, overwhelming her more than her previous state. Her breaths were coming faster now and everything was blurring together. Ponies were probably staring, wondering what in the hell could be wrong with her. This was already going terribly. What was a pony supposed to do in a panic? Tempest sure as hell didn’t know, she had never been in this situation. Where the fuck was Twilight??
Suddenly a voice cut through the noise of the ponies, calling her old name. Nobody could possibly know that except Twilight and her friends and— oh. It must have been Twilight. There was nopony else it could be. But where was she? It sounded like her voice was coming from everywhere at once, confusing Tempest’s sense of bearing even more than before.
Suddenly a wing touched Tempest’s back making her jump. She thought Twilight’s voice said her old name, and she cringed. It had been so long since anyone had ever called her by it. It made her feel sick to hear it now. It just... wasn’t her anymore.
“Tempest it’s ok it’s me, Twilight. What’s wrong? And can I do anything to help you?” Twilight’s voice was the only clear thing in the muddle of noise of the station.
Tempest could barely speak, she didn’t know how to tell Twilight the problem. She knew she had to but with her short breaths and racing mind she couldn’t get the words out. She knew she was speaking but she didn’t know what she was saying. It probably didn’t make any sense at all. She sobbed and ducked her head, suddenly feeling the tears that had been pouring down her face.
“Hey, Tempest come on, its ok. The train is about to go, I’ll help you get there and you can relax a little there, ok?” Twilight said. Her voice was calm and quiet, helping Tempest’s state of mind just a bit.
The mares stood up together, Twilight keeping her wing on Tempest’s back. The alicorn led her new friend forward toward the train. Tempest stayed by her side, walking quietly and hoping nopony questioned this. She didn’t know if they could even tell something was wrong. Maybe they just looked like really good friends walking together.
After what seemed like forever the two ponies boarded the train on a private car. Tempest thanked every god she could think of that they were alone. They sat in silence together and Tempest decided to take this time to calm down. She let herself listen to Twilight’s breathing, focusing on it. Twilight was obviously calm and it felt like it was spreading to Tempest.
Eventually Twilight took a deep breath and Tempest prepared herself for anything. Deep breaths were bad, it meant someone was going to yell or express their anger otherwise. Or the Storm King would blow up at her and— no. She wasn’t going to think like that. It wasn’t going to help anything.
No angry or disappointed speech came. In fact nothing bad at all happened. Twilight’s wing rested on Tempest’s back again and pulled her in close. The contact felt foreign but still felt nice. Tempest let it happen, not sure exactly how to feel about it. It wasn’t unwelcome at all, just unfamiliar. Nopony had ever been this... nice. Twilight was gentle with her friend, holding her carefully with her wing. It took a while before Tempest realized Twilight was talking quietly to her. The unicorn sighed and listened to the other mare talk. Nothing that was said really made any sense to her poor muddled brain but that didn’t matter.
Tempest didn’t notice herself leaning into the alicorn. Her eyes slid shut, not that it made much difference to her. All that mattered right now was the noises of the train car, the sound of Twilight’s voice. Soon, with the gentle words of the princess in her ear, Tempest fell asleep.
