My first exhibition at the TextielMuseum in Tilburg is ‘Common Threads | Old and new stories in art and design’ (14 March 2020 - 13 June 2021).
Few things are as human as telling stories. The exhibition ‘Common Threads | Old and new stories in art and design’ explores how artists and designers shape narratives and ideas. Presenting personal and cultural perspectives, 'Common Threads’ also shows how our world and our identities are made up of multiple stories.
The exhibition features works from the museum’s collection organised around themes such as religion and spirituality, gender and sexuality, and children’s stories and fantasies. Alongside contemporary pieces, the exhibition presents works covering a period of around 200 years – from myths and biblical stories to current, personal tales.
With works by: Eylem Aladogan, Mercedes Azpilicueta, Christiaan Bastiaans, Walter van Beirendonck, Célio Braga, Studio Formafantasma, Jaime Hayon, Hella Jongerius, Susanne Khalil Yusef, Kustaa Saksi, Jennifer Tee, Anna Verwey-Verschuure, Roy Villevoye and others.

Things Will Change (TENT Rotterdam, 6.12.2019 - 5.1.2020) was a group show with works by artists studying at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. During a two month-long programme the group discussed and researched visions of luck or happiness achieved in the future, leading to new works that explore how to deal with the demand for success that contemporary society seems to ask of us. Through these works, the artists reflect on notions of creation and productivity and their relation to time. The exhibition presented the results of collaborations between the academy students, departing from the TENT exhibitions Boerenzij by artist Wapke Feenstra and Wild Bet by artist duo Gil & Moti.
With works by: Steph Bayes & Izzy Ramos; Noah Commandeur, Rio Drop, Tugay Adem Kader, Valeria Moro & Múz Spaans; Michel Heen, David Jellema & Ryan Lim Zi Yi; Anne van Ophem; Yunwei Zhang.

Me, Myself and I (TENT Rotterdam, 30.11 – 2.12.2018) was an exhibition by artists studying at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. The exhibition presented the results of collaborations between the academy students, departing from the TENT exhibition Who do you think you are?. During a two month-long programme the group focussed on the subject of (cultural) identity, leading to new works that explored our ways of being, how we perceive others and how our views on identity are formed through the words we use. Many of the works question how language can create meaningful connection and communication with others, but can lead to confusion and division as well.
Works by:  Ayla Aron, Chantell Hassan, Narges Mohammadi, Søren Nellemann, and Nuno Orlando; Sarafina van Ast, Jacob Bertilsson, Bryan,  Ratri Notosudirdjo, and Wuman; RAMI [Ratri Notosudirdjo and Amy Hill]; Linhuei Chen, Divyangi Shukla, Kristine Timma, and Nara Winston; Nils Addink, Ryan Lim Zi Yi, and Rasheed Vlijter
