do older generations not get fatalistic humor?? like the other day my friend’s parents were hanging around and we were joking and i was like “well no matter what i can always fling myself off the nearest cliff” and they didn’t laugh then later the mom pulled me aside and was like “maybe you should get some help, sweetie” like stfu?? help? in this economy? i don’t think so, debra
once upon a time young young teenage me used to write fan fiction like my life depended on it, new fics every week and I had no idea there was someone out there printing out my fics and putting them in a box to read when they needed something to cheer them up
anyways fast forward to 20 year old me on my third date with Emily and she mentions offhand that she’s got this box of fic she printed out and saved
it’s a few months later after that and she shows me one of the fics in the box and holy shit that’s my garbage fic from so long ago
anyways my point is life is a fucking trip my dude
I don’t think I ever shared this story so I’ll share it now.
By far THE best interaction I had while working at GameStop was when this older woman, probably in her mid to late 70’s, came in asking for games she could play that were similar to The Witcher 3 because she had completed the entire game, despite hating the game mechanics.
When I asked her what she liked about the game that made her want to finish it, she looked me straight in the eye and deadass said, “Geralt.”
So basically this elderly woman competed every single mission in The Witcher 3 solely because of how hot she found Geralt. I died. And set her up with a copy of Uncharted after she gave Nathan Drake her Hot Boy™ seal of approval.
I was watching this video and they started talking about theories and my fav one is that Allura has to pilot the black lion and Shiro can communicate with her through the astral plane place where he fought zarkon
my friend is studying for the mcat and was just trying to explain to me about heat transfer and she said ‘you know, like the reason you get cold when you go outside on a freezing day is that your tiny human body is trying to warm up the entire universe’ and i think that’s the best thing i have ever heard
