THINGS I’D LIKE TO POINT OUT ABOUT THIS CLIP:

Cris and Joana’s first meeting in Jueves 23:29 is maybe my favourite clip from s2 or at least the one i’ve watched the most, so i had to do this.

We start with Cris being Cris; drunk, high, laughing, having a great time and being happy with her friends. A lot of the things we won’t see in a while thanks to the 99 hell weeks.

I see you Ruben. Am i the only one who finds it slightly weird that he is so clearly trying to get with his best friend’s little sister right in front of him?

Fun fact: I googled it and apparently this Sala Tam is an actual place in Madrid. Anyone wanna fly to Spain with me and recreate this clip?

I’ve pointed this out before, but Joana definitely had a thing for Cris already before this meeting. Just look at her. She doesn’t look like she’s in love or anything, but she looks so intrigued and interested and keen to talk to her.

What needs to be pointed out here as well is that she is smoking, which we now know she shouldn’t do. Joana says later on that she smokes etc when she feels “normal”, which is probably what’s happening here, but a part of me also thinks that she full on planned this whole first meeting and is smoking because she knows Cris smokes and this way she gets a chance to talk to her.

Joana’s face after she introduces herself to Cris is a mix of “uuuu i can’t believe i’m actually talking to her” and “how the fuck does this girl not recognise me”.

This might be a tonal thing that i just can’t tell because i don’t really speak Spanish, but i find it really funny that Cris’s reaction to “hi my name is Joana” is this face instead of “hi my name is Cris”.

Sliiiiiiiiiiding into your girl’s personal space.

I think it’s a definite flaw in my culture that this would not be a socially excepted way for me to greet my crush the first time i talk to them. Thank you Spain for having my girls cheek to cheek 10 seconds into their first meeting.

This brief cheek to cheek action was enough for Cris to actually have a good look at this girl and realise that she’s gorgeous.

I love how Cris and Joana are basically sitting the same way, but then again their body language is completely different. Cris is relaxed with her arms (and legs) open, while Joana’s knees are pointing inwards whilst she’s literally holding herself like a ball. She’s clearly way more nervous and anxious than she lets off.

This girl has super long and sharp glitter nails and has never heard of blue is the warmest colour???? The chances of her being into girls has dramatically decreased.

There’s literally one second between these two frames. I’m not convinced Irene is a real human.

Joana is officially the smoothest kinder surprise egg there is.

I can’t get over how Joana is holding Cris’s hand so that her fingers are literally in between Cris’s. Just casually holding a girl’s hand on your heart with your fingers in between hers while starring at her lips. You know, normal first meeting stuff.

Blink and you miss it, but Cris leans into Joana as she slides closer to her. She definitely would had kissed Joana if she would have gone for it.

“Your heart is racing”. Joana is probably so excited that Cris is actually into the same song that she is, and being completely oblivious about the fact that she’s the one causing Cris’s heart to race (or the drugs).

JUST KISS ALREADY!!!!! I scream for another 22 clips.

Joana being completely in awe of Cris while i follow you is playing in the background makes me emotional when i think about how two months later they are kissing as girlfriends with the same song playing in the background. You got her Joana. And she got you.

Cris might be drunk and high, but she’s completely smitten. She can’t even think of anything funny or stupid to say, which is a first.

I will remove this hand off Cris very obviously slow while giving you a death stare.

The nervous nail biting make its first appearance. Being reminded by the fact that you have boyfriend Joana? Or are you afraid that the straight is coming to steal your girl?

“Sharing is caring, right” Joana says to herself when trying to justify both of the issues stated above.

Hearing someone else say snappy no filter comments leaves Cris with disbelief and admiration. (also thanks Joana for saying what the whole fandom was thinking)

The we are good here indeed look that makes my heart burst.

And i’m going to leave it here, even though the whole pill-saga (and what must have been going through Joana’s head then) could be a post of its own. This is the most amazing first meeting in wlw histry and you can’t convince me otherwise.

I miss these two so much.
