The ironic part of Zachariah saying that Adam wasn’t really the chosen one is that HE LITERALLY WAS!! Adam was Michael’s first act of free will. Michael CHOOSE Adam over Dean. He could have easily kept going after Dean but no! He took Adam instead, even though as Gabriel put it - SINCE THE BEGINNING they knew that it was supposed to be Sam and Dean. Michael just said fuck that the rules don’t apply to me

God I wanna write my au where Patroclus gets thrown into the sea during a storm at some point during the war and gets amnesia, and then he wakes up on the shore of Troy and is rescued by Helen and Paris who were out on a romantic walk and don’t recognize him as one of Achilles’ soldiers. Maybe they’re nervous about this strange man, convinced that he’ll fall wildly for Helen as almost every man does, but when Patroclus looks at her he just seems confused, confesses that he knows she is beautiful but “Something is missing”. And Patroclus ends up getting taken in by them and the three of them actually become close friends, and because he doesn’t remember his past he becomes determined to protect them and the beautiful love they share, even while dealing with his own weird feelings that he’s not complete and random flashes of golden hair and fragmented memories that never add up to anything.

Meanwhile Achilles is not taking Patroclus’ ‘death’ well at all and is having a full on mental break, only fighting because he hopes to die and join Patroclus, a demon on the field. Maybe once he glimpses Patroclus on the Wall when the man went out to see the battle, but in his wild grief he thinks it was just a hallucination.

And then Drama happens when things start to come together.

You can’t tell me that “you can use a spear as a walking stick, but that will not change its nature” from the song of Achilles doesn’t immediately remind you of Michael??

I just recently finished reading the song of Achilles and when I tell you I can’t unsee them as Michael and Adam?? Like the entire time I was reading all I could think of was them 😭 I seriously need an AU of them as Achilles and Patroclus now

Okay but if you think about it, Michael didn’t really have anything to gain from him and Adam’s agreement like… he literally just wanted a friend. The whole thing with he agreement is that they’d coexist which Michael at first wouldn’t need, he’s an ARCHANGEL who has spent years and years by himself, but no he really just decided to agree to coexist with AND eventually give over control to (at the time) an insignificant human.

I find it so interesting that Michael just gave up after 5x18? Like he was supposed to be the one that was following his Dad’s plan perfectly, and yet he goes and finds a DIFFERENT VESSEL!! Even Gabriel had said that everyone always knew it was going to end with Dean and Sam yet Michael just switches up the second he meets Adam! I really wish we would’ve gotten to see what happened in the room after Michael arrived the possibilities…

Ik some people say that Michael probably tortured Adam, but that doesn’t line up with what Michael had told Dean before about how he wouldn’t leave him a drooling mess, pretty much saying he treats his vessels better than his brothers.

Then again we also see Michael murder an entire bar of people just to talk to Zachariah so 🫡 idk I just think Michael in general is such an interesting character and we should’ve gotten more with him.

In my opinion Adam is def a Red/1989 fan and Michael is a folklore/evermore fan. Like?? I can just picture them listening to the all the music that Adam missed out on when in hell and hearing about Taylor Swift. Not to mention soooo many of her songs can relate to them
