Which is fine by me, having all the tags linked annoys me anyway, I’m more than happy to unlink them).

ETA: And I’m going to start posting links to older fics and backdate them. They will only be tagged with the #ao3feed tag.

No judgment, it happens, but it does also mean that there’s no one cleaning up the not-actually-Adoribull fic that gets posted automatically. So I’ve been thinking, would people mind if I started running a feed through this blog, only set to create the posts in my drafts first, so only the actually Adoribull fic links will be published in the first place? This does mean there would be a delay, maybe up to a few days, but hopefully only a few hours.
I’m mainly asking first because I’m curious as to how many people are still following @ao3feed-adoribull and how many just ignore or have blocked it? I don’t want to seem like I’m spamming the tag with what are essentially duplicate posts. I know I would rather have duplicate posts if it meant knowing right away which links are worth clicking, but I want to make sure that’s not just me.

Tevinter Templar Soldier Spy by Davechicken & Shadow_Side (307k) - A chance encounter with a templar sees the Iron Bull hired to take down a rogue Tevinter mage. But when he meets Dorian Pavus, he quickly starts to re-evaluate his mission and his calling. And then it turns out Dorian might be trying to prevent the end of the world...[An AU-prequel to Inquisition]
Through the Eluvian by DarkBlue (44k) - Mild canon divergence: Dorian steps through a mirror into an abandoned room. Opening the door, he finds himself – of all places – in a herb garden with Chantry sisters. The Inquisition wonders what to do with a Tevinter spy. They consult their resident spy expert, a representative of the Qun. He agrees to keep an eye on him.
Fading Dreams & Harrowing Nightmares by DarkBlue (29k) - Dorian is selected to be the Inquisitor's team during the charge at Adamant Fortress. Upon his return, the Inquisition requires him to undergo a Harrowing - his first. The Iron Bull strongly disagrees.
Deadly Nightshade and Lilies by roshytsunami (28k) - Iron Bull just wanted to have some true freedom and explore the human realm on his own. Unfortunately his "father" Zeus has other plans. It leads to asking for help from one of the gods everyone mortal and immortal fear, Dorian the accountant of the dead.
Fiercely Perish by BECandCall (23k) - A half-dozen terrorists. One former Ben Hassrath. The odds are against the Iron Bull... and that's just the way he likes it.
*How things have always been. And always will be by Sintari (21k) - It was the way how the Inquisitor behaved around Dorian. The casual backslapping after an especially snarky remark or blatant joke from Dorian, hand always lingering a little longer than appropriate on the mage's half-bared shoulder. Lavellan would always choose his left shoulder, which the 'Vint for whatever reason preferred to wear less armour on. Revealing a tempting glimpse on smooth tanned skin over well defined muscles. When the Inquisitor finally pulled his hand back, his fingertips would absent-mindedly trail the rim of one of the many leather strips, ghosting slowly over what was exposed beneath. And the Bull couldn't unsee how the 'Vint had started to lean into these little touches, ever so slightly and subtle, like it was a mere coincidence but the Ben-Hassrath inside him could clearly see what was happening there. And he didn't like it...
*The Spirit of Truth by Shae_C (21k) - Corypheus may have a sleeper agent among the inquisition, and after being mistakenly suspected, Dorian is given the task of rooting out the truth of the matter. But doing it alone would be nearly impossible, and Cadash's men can only help so much. Fortunately, there happens to be a qunari spy close at hand. Together with Bull, Dorian tries to uncover who the double agent is, if they exist at all, all the while he and Bull struggle with their own growing feelings towards each other. Meanwhile a Desire Demon seems to have taken a particular interest in Dorian, further complicating the matter, and alluding that betrayal may be closer than he thinks.
My Father And His Father Before Him by LilacSolanum (20k) - An exploration and expansion on Dorian's backstory, focused on Tevinter society, generational abuse, and the complexities of loving a cruel parent.

Dorian perked up when the scent of warm cocoa hit his nostrils, and something familiar yet out of place. He stared down at the cup and saw the lightest sprinkling of red on the surface, which another careful sniff revealed to Dorian a hint of the hotter, red spice of chili powder.
“You’re mad,” Dorian said, though he couldn’t deny he was intrigued.

Adoribull Low-Hit FicRecFest Week #1: Post-Trespasser
Let’s begin at the end, shall we? (At least, the end for now!) Trespasser was a treasure for Adoribull shippers, as “It’s a whole lot of something” and “I’m hoping we’re good for each other” became “amatus” and “kadan” and ridiculous hugs and flexing met with horny giggles. But not only that, we got the END SLIDES, which gifted us with numerous tropes fic writers have been putting their own spin on ever since. But wait, what if you want angst instead? Official Announcement of the Adoribull Low-Hit FicRecFest!
As mentioned last week, in the process of sifting through the Iron Bull/Dorian Pavus Ao3 tag to find the fics actually about them, I found a number of great fics that don’t have quite the hit count I think they deserve. And in the spirit of this whole collection project, I want to help you find fics you may like, not by making my own personal recs, but by encouraging you to make your own. To do that, I’m going to be running a fic rec fest through at least the month of March!
What’s a fic rec fest?
The idea is basically “Everyone shares their fic recs around the same time, so as to maximize eyeballs on the fic recs and, by extension, the fics”. I’ve seen a few different ways of doing them, but since my goal is specifically to get more eyeballs on fics that currently have fewer than 1000 hits, here’s how this one is going to work.
How does it work?
Each week will have a theme. On Mondays (starting March 1, 2021), I will post a list of fics that have fewer than 1000 hits on Ao3 that fit that theme. This is not a rec list, these are all the fics that meet the criteria of a) being Adoribull-centric, b) fitting that week’s theme, and c) having fewer than 1000 hits. Then you read as many or as few of those fics as you like, then post your own rec list drawn from those fics!
What kind of commitment do I have to make? Do I have to sign up? How much detail should my recs have?
NO commitment! NO sign-ups! NO detail necessary! You can just post raw links with no words at all! (Though obviously a nice clean list of hyperlinks with a few words about each fic would be appreciated.) You don’t even have to post your rec list the same week of that theme (though again, doing so would be appreciated). Each list will be going up on Monday specifically because it allows the most flexibility in your reading and reccing (you can spend the week reading and put together your rec list on the weekend, or just cram it all into the weekend). Just tag your rec list with #adoribull ficrecfest so I can reblog it here.

I’ve been thinking: threesome/poly/etc. fics make up just over a quarter of the fics bookmarked in the collection. I’m almost surprised it’s not more, but I only bookmarked the threesome/poly fics that were also tagged with “Iron Bull/Dorian Pavus”, There’s plenty more that are tagged only with the threesome relationship tag. Indeed, “The Iron Bull/Dorian Pavus/Cullen Rutherford” alone has 27 fics (out of 58) not also tagged “Iron Bull/Dorian Pavus”.
Let me know (comment, ask, w/e) if you’d like me to make a subcollection for all three+some fics, including those in all their three+some tags, as a one-stop shop for all Bull/Dorian+ fics!

Would people be into a kind of fic-book club thing? Now that I’m getting a chance to actually read some more recent (i.e. of the past three years) Adoribull fic, I’ve been disheartened to realize how few hits some of these fics have, never mind kudos or comments. I’d like to see a lot of these fics get more of all three, but I also don’t want to sit here posting the occasional rec list. I’m only one person, and I want to maximize the amount of people finding and sharing new fic they enjoy, and preferably also encouraging writers with kudos and comments!
I’m talking about a fic rec fest! How do those work? I don’t know, I thought I made them up until I Googled it. But here’s how I think ours could work: The focus would be on fics that have fewer than, say, 1000 hits? (so, these or about halfway down this page through to the end). Each week would have a theme (e.g. AU, longfic, Trespasser end slide fic, etc.), and everyone who wants to participate would spend the week reading low-hit fics that fit the theme. Then when the week is up, people would post their recs, I’d reblog them here, more people read those fics, and ideally leave kudos and comments, ??????, PROFIT!

Happy Valentine’s Day, Happy International Fanworks Day, and (belated) Happy Year of the Metal Ox to my fellow Adoribull shippers!
Finally someone did the thing that we always wanted someone to do and the someone turned out to be me (@mechanical-jewel). I went through all the fic under our Ao3 tag, swimming upstream against the het-ship tide, and plucked all the Adoribull jewels (tbf, any marginally shiny rocks) from the muck and mire.
TL;DR: You want otp: true + these bookmarks
The collection has more than just those bookmarks, though. What got bookmarked and what got added/invited to the collection is all laid out and explained over there, as well as some tagging tips to help your Adoribull fic rise above the static.

UPDATE 14.3.21: This blog is now also syndicating links to new fics from the Ao3 tag. The RSS feed creates all entries in drafts first, so the not-actually-Adoribull fics will be culled before they are posted. Older fics are also being linked and backdated. Both kinds of posts can be found in the #ao3feed tag.
