A-Tale Lore post:
In A-tale the Monsters after the War were divided into different factions, each being ruled by a different ruler. These factions are
-The Underground
-The Caves
- The Valley
- The Mountains
The Underground only became ruled by Gaster due to the fact that Asgore couldn’t continue to rule over both the caves AND the underground so he asked his royal advisor at the time (gaster) to take over as Asriel was too young at the time.
And as mentioned before Asgore now only rules over the Caves. While Toriel rules over the Valley and Undyne rules over the mountains.
