Underrated Albums: Part 1
I often find with some of the music I listen to, I’ll be thinking like, “Oh, I wonder what other people think about this online!” or if if the music is from a decade/longer than a decade, I want to search up more about the singer nowadays to see if they still make music.
...But then, when I search all this stuff up I find next to nothing. Maybe they have an Instagram or a YouTube channel with not many subscribers/comments.
Well, today’s example of that is George Nozuka’s “Believe.”
If you’re a Canadian that watched a lot of the Family Channel growing up like me, you’d know this album’s song Lie To Me (at least, I think it was on the Family Channel between songs... maybe my memory is serving me poorly). However, you might also know the songs Last Time, or Talk To Me.
So, I’ve been listening to this albums the past couple of days, and I find myself wondering why was this album not a hit. Nozuka’s got a pair of smooth vocals, and his songs fit the  mid 2000s style of R&B. Was there something going on that didn’t make him very well promoted? Were the rest of his songs not that great? Was the record label he was signed to not a good one? I don’t know... but it’s pretty depressing since it’s a good album. Lyrically, the songs aren’t anything out of the ordinary for R&B songs: some love songs, and a bunch of break up songs. Though, I must admit, the song Hurting Child was something I haven’t heard much of lyrically (the song itself mostly talks about being a child living with parents who are often in conflict) Personally, my favourite song is Can’t Stop Loving You.
Gosh, listening to all these mid 2000s songs make me miss being young. I wonder what it would be like if I were my current age living back then.
Anywho, get this album on iTunes! You may just love it.

This is gold. I haven’t laughed that hard in a while.
Everyone loves the Tomb Raider 4 main theme, right? On YouTube, videos with this music often seem to have “The Big Sky (Reprise) by Messiah Project“ in the music description, so I looked it up.
Firstly, I hope they actually bought the rights to this music to use it.
Secondly, that’s probably the shittiest, laziest remix I’ve ever heard and hey, you can even pay for it!
You can listen to it here.

Videogames in the Modern World - Rant
First off, I’m sure a lot of the stuff I’m about to say isn’t particularly new, but it’s relevant regardless.
So, being a gamer is great. It’s awesome being included in fandoms, making friendships over common interests, connecting with fictional characters, falling in love with soundtracks. I wouldn’t trade any of this.
However, being a gamer is also one of the most financially draining things ever. As a Canadian citizen, I usually have to pay approximately $79.99 for a videogame when it’s newly released. As you can tell, this is a lot of money for some titles which may provide say maybe... 12 hours of new entertainment.
But you know what the worst thing about this is? The fact that when I purchase these videogames, I’m not necessarily getting the full product. DLC! To get both season passes in Street Fighter V, you’ll likely be adding an additional 67 dollars. THAT IS A LOT. Some severe cases also include the lovely pre-launch DLC! WWE 2K series, you’re very guilty of this! The worst part about this series is that there are only marginal changes between the games, but a gamer would still have to pay the full price. Another example is Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite (the reason I wrote this post). The worst case is on-disc DLC *cough Street Fighter IV*. Luckily though, I’ve never come in recent times.
It just sucks because essentially unfinished products are being released constantly and there’s nothing people do about it. We just sit back and buy into all this.
