This is Maggie's worm collection
She loves her worms more than any other toy. She plays with them loads and carries them around the house
At night the worms have to go in a box so that she doesn't wake me up playing with them. So every evening before bed I gather up the worms, put them in their box and have Maggie say goodnight to them.

@soapfriendotake2 this just reminded me bc yes i agree whole heartedly but someone else pointed out this may have, ironically, led to an increase in over consumption as people try to become a part of subcultures that literally do not exist anymore.
most subcultures are borne and survive from the space they occupy (gamers like in arcades, coffee shop hipsters, scene or preppy mall rats, etc...) and now that teenagers dont actually have any place to Go to they all feverishly keep trying on new aesthetics and new looks and it results in massive fashion hauls from shein without realize whats missing is a Place and a Community.
i mean i do think theres reasonable criticism about having a consumerist idea of childhood but i also think its fair to say its arguably healthier for preteen/teen girls to have their own retail genre instead of jumping straight to adult categorization
#sort of a tangent#but it really interested me#its why theres so many -cores that feel so empty#its all about cashing in on the next big aesthetic but not having any actual attachment for it#part of the reason i think y2k is having its big Moment right now other than the fact that#all those kids and teens are adults now like me#teens that have no concept of it are seeing this glamorous world with third spaces and pop culture that was more accessible#idk! its sad

#i think we can also debate the make up industry as a whole for adult women#but i really do think the lack of children/teen spaces is disastrous#if you want a less inflammatory example i think of kids sites like club penguin#now all you have is tiktok and twitter which are actual brain poisons#insta and tumblr arent even exempt but ill give tumblr a pass#bc theres less of an algorithmic pressure#anyways
