Totally cool: “Hey, do you want to be exclusive?”

Red flag: “No one but me is allowed to touch you.”

Totally cool: “Your mom is really unkind to me, can we try to minimize how often you bring me when you visit her?”

Red flag: “Your mom hates me, you need to stop talking to her. She’s trying to ruin our relationship.”

Red flag: “It’s a good thing I love you so much, because no one else would. You’d be alone forever without me.”

Other important red flags to keep in mind: someone who wants to jump into emotional/financial co-dependence very fast (like moving in together right away, or becoming each other’s only confidantes right away) and won’t take no for an answer; someone who tries to minimize how often you leave the house or interact with other people; someone who threatens you or themselves or your family or pets or possessions or financial future; someone who uses guilt to keep you from leaving a relationship.

Very important reminder: You do not need a reason to leave a relationship. Neither does the other person (or people). A relationship is over when one of the people in it says it’s over, period. Obviously it’s kind to take the end of a long relationship seriously, but abusers and manipulators have lost the right to that conversation. Lie if you need to–your safety is much more important than their feelings.

I guess ill do a blurb then,

Luke would be the type of guy to try to surprise you on your birthday with your favorite album on vinyl but he just can’t help to hold it in. He’d be so excited that he just can’t take it anymore and he wants to see your smile whenever he hands it to you because he knows how much you cherish this album, especially since he sees you have a collection of albums on vinyl. Little did he know you had an album. You would come home and say “Hey Lukey (he hated when you called him that in front of people) i have a surprise for you.” you would say smiling from ear to ear. He would be suspicious and say “what is it babe?” he would say slowly smiling. When you would show him what you got him, it would be a coincidence given that you got him the same thing he got you, his favorite album on a vinyl. He would be in shock and be so happy and so excited. “Babe, how did you-…i love you so much!” he said all happy hugging you and kissing you. “And guess what i got you. I was gonna wait till your birthday but since you’ve been so good to me, here.” he would say handing you over a vinyl of your favorite album as well. You had the same reaction he did and he kept thanking you telling you how you shouldn’t have gotten him it and you would continuously tell him it was no problem at all.

It was yours and Ashton’s anniversary. He knew you were so passionate about this one album you would always talk about, he went to a music store and bought it for you. All he wanted was for you to be happy and to do something special for you on your anniversary.After he would purchase the album, he would come knocking on your door without even telling you he was coming to surprise you. You didn’t know who was at the door, so you would be startled, but you would sneak up to the door and look through the peep hole. You would see your boyfriend Ashton standing there and it looks like he’s holding something wrapped up.You knew it was a gift by the looks of it. You opened the door to let your boyfriend Ashton in.”Hey babe.” he would say as you greet each other with a kiss. “Hey Ashton, what are you doing here? and what is that wrapped up in wrapping paper?” you would ask. He would hand it to you and say “Open it.” with a content smile on hi face and his hands behind his back, excitingly. Once you opened it, you saw it was your favorite alum on a vinyl. You couldn’t believe your eyes. You instantly kissed him passionately without a second thought in your mind. “Happy anniversary beautiful.” he would say.

You and Calum were best friends. When he would go to your house he would see your vinyl collection in your room and he thought it was cool. He loved how you were so passionate about music. You would tell him that you are just missing one more that you really wanted for your collection and that it was your favorite album. Once he heard the name of the artist(s) and the album name, it reminded him that he has the exact one with him that he was going to give away but since he heard you liked the exact same album, he had an idea to give it to you instead. “Well, isn’t today your lucky day.” he said smiling while digging in his bag and getting out the exact same vinyl that you wanted. You were shocked. Why would he give you his vinyl? “Calum…no..i can’t..” “No, take it, please. I was just about to give it away. I’m glad you told me so i can give it to you.” He would say, blushing as you took the vinyl. Without a second thought in your mind you kissed him, unknowingly. This was your first kiss together given that you were best friends. You always had feelings for you but THIS, this made you fall more in love with him. “I..i’m so sorry.” you would say looking embarrassingly away. Before you walked out of your room, he grabbed your hand to stop you from leaving. “Hey, do you have feeling for me? because i really like you a lot [y/n].”

(Imagine Michael working in a record store.) You would always visit the record store and always see your favorite vinyl that you tried to save up money for and you were afraid someone might take it. Michael would always see you staring at the same album but leaving empty handed and always sad about not being able to afford the album. One day you came in, scared and angered that the album isn’t there anymore. You would feel a tap on your shoulder and when you turned around, eyes watery because of all this time saving your money for the album its not there anymore, you saw a tall guy with dark hair that always had crazy colors in it was holding the album out to hand it to you. “I always saw you looking at the album but not being able to buy it, so..here.” he would say smiling. You didn’t know what to say.How can a guy be so perfect. How could someone be so nice to buy you a vinyl that’s expensive. “Th- Thank you. you didn’t ha-” “ I wanted to.” he would say smirking. You would smile blushing deep red. “By the way i’m Michael.” he would say holding out his hand “[Y/N] nice to meet you.” You said as you shook his hand. This was the start of something beautiful.
