collection of useful things tumblr has taught me:

even if you can't fall asleep, laying down with your eyes closed will still rest your body

you don't have to brush your teeth standing up

you don't have to do any chore standing up, from dishes to showering

you don't have to shower with the lights on

if you can't brush your teeth, flossing and a tongue scraper gets rid of plaque and bad breath

if you can't do that, mouthwash kills a lot of bacteria

eating "unhealthy" food is better than eating no food

you can make the same meal everyday for however long you still want it

some pills come in syrups or chewables if you can't swallow them

kids nutritional shakes can be a quick way to get fuel if you can't eat/don't have time

if walking hurts/exhausts you on a regular basis, canes and rollers are for you, no matter how young you are

we have free will—if doing something "out of the ordinary" makes life easier for you, do it

tw!! Talking about how Ponyboy used suicidal language in the book ⚠️⚠️⚠️

I think it’s so severely overlooked that in the book Ponyboy literally says he wishes to be dead in a ditch somewhere, or the fact he agreed with what Johnny was saying when he said he couldn’t take it anymore, and how he wished he could’ve just suffocated when he was jumped. Or how he just stopped fighting during the fountain scene. It’s so concerning that I’ve seen ppl brush these scenes off as a mood bc they’re not, and like it feels rlly overlooked bc he was most likely somewhat depressed from the beginning. He also believed nobody cared about him except for being Sodapop and darrys brother. Which is.. concerning bc he never updated that opinion. Anyway. I think it concerns me about his behavior even from the beginning. Anyway goodnight I think

The book being Ponyboy's dream wouldn't be realistic because the assignment he was given was on an experience that happened to him and if Johnny and Dally were still alive he'd definitely fail because his professor would know the story wasn't true just by the fact that they're still alive.
