Enchantment In Dublin
Christmas time in Dublin is the bright spark that lights up the doom and gloom of winter in Ireland and it gives the people something to look forward to whilst the weather gets worse, and the days get shorter. During the festive period Dublin does not disappoint with many attractions ranging from the Dublin Zoo’s Wild Lights, having a drink in the Gingerman or even just walking down Grafton Street Dublin has something for you. There is just something about Dublin during the lead up to Christmas the air, the lights, the people everything just falls right into place it seems. Here at 40XEventsDublin we want to provide you with the best experience possible. Listed below are what we think are must do’s this holiday period.
Dublin Zoo Wild Lights:
Dublin Zoo’s award-winning Wild Lights is back and better than ever this November 16th, with their new ‘The Enchanted Zoo’ theme join us and many others on the journey through their light show. If you enjoy quality time with friends and family while experiencing an amazing light show this is the place to be. With tickets ranging from 20-25 euros per person depending on age there is not a reason that you should be missing this enchanting experience. With first entry being at five pm and last entry being at eight pm, this is the perfect nighttime experience for a date, a mate date or for the kids.
The Christmas Experience at Malahide Castle:
The Christmas Experience at Malahide Castle is an experience like no other, it blends the traditional Irish castle with the enchantment of the most wonderful time of the year to create one of the best experiences Dublin has to offer. Each group or pair will be met with traditional Christmas characters while they prepare for Christmas including the man Himself Santa. Sweets and treats are also available to be purchased and there are numerous photo opportunities for you, your partner or your children. With tickets ranging from 18-22.50 depending on age this is another amazing event waiting to be experienced!
Christmas at the Castle
Christmas at the Castle is a long-standing Christmas tradition for some as it is so iconic in terms of Christmas heritage in Dublin. With one of the more well-known Christmas markets taking place here yearly this much like Malahide blends some traditional Irish history in with the enchantment of Christmas to create Christmas at the Castle. With stalls ranging from food/beverage to arts and crafts there is something or everybody here, and the best part, it is free entry. It is open to the public from the 8th-10th and the 15th-17th of December and opens and closes its doors at 12-20:30. There is no excuses not to see you there.

80’s & 90’s Artists Coming to Dublin
Going back 40 years in the making we have seen some of your favourite bands and singers come and go, but for some this may be the last chance to see them live in concert one last time. Luckily Dublin is on the map for these upcoming tours. Here at 40xEventsDublin we have compiled a list of some of the concerts of the most popular, must see artists, who’s time may be coming to an end. It would be a great chance to gather with family and friends to reminise on the nostalgic times you shared together or even to introduce younger family members to some of the greats before their time, to show and introduce them to one of the greatest song genre’s of all time!
Bruce Springsteen, Croke Park 19/05/24
If you’re a Bruce Springsteen fan or even just an 80’s rock fan why not go see him live in Croke Park on the 19th of May 2024. Bruce has served as a cultural phenomenon throughout five decades! He has realised an outstanding 21 studio albums, 23 live albums, and 77 singles! Some of which include all time favourites “Dancing In The Dark”, “Human Touch”, “The River”, “Streets Of Philedelphia”. All to be enjoyed in the open roof stadium in Dublin City Centre on a lovely summers night.
Depeche Mode, 3Arena 03/02/24
If you enjoy electronic music, Depeche Mode might be the one for you. The english band that formed in the 80s are taking on the 3Arena for their Momento Mori Tour on the 3rd of Febuary 2024. With an incredible 50 songs in the UK singles chart, 13 top ten albums in the UK charts and over 100 million records sold worldwide, this isnt a concert to miss! Some favourites include “Just Cant Get enough” “Enjoy The Silence” “Personal Jesus” and “Everything Counts”. All to be enjoyed and shared with the experience of 13,000 people in the largest concert venue in Dublin.
Take That, 3Arena 22&23/04/24, Malahide Castle 21/06/24
Take That is one of the most popular english pop bands formed in the 90s, including Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Harold Donald. These five created some of the biggests pop hits including “Relight My Fire”. Although Williams left the bad in ’95 the group of 4 continued to release more hits such as “Patience” “Shine” “Greastest Day” and “The Flood”. With Orange leaving the band in 2014 the remaining three members continued to make even more music! Releasing another three albums. Although the band is no longer complete Take That are preforming for one last time on their “This Life On Tour” and they’ve even given us choice! They are first taking on the 3Arena on the 22nd and 23rd of April 2024 and then decided to release extra dates for malahide castle on the 21th of June 2024.
So whether you like outdoor or indoor events these are for you! Get your family and friends together to celebrate all these hits and sing along.

Rewind the Years Here in Dublin
Dublin and Ireland are culturally renowned for having great taste in music with bands and musicians such as U2, the Cranberries and Westlife to name a few being reared in our culture. Music is a strong part of who we are as Dubliners no matter what age or genre of music you like. If you are from an older generation then sadly some of your favourite bands and musicians may have retired or moved on from music, not to worry here at 40xEventsDublin we want you to be able to real in the years and see some of your favourite bands and musicians live in action once more. How might you do that? You might ask, the answer...... tribute bands. Tribute bands by definition are, a group that plays the songs of a band they admire, often dressing in the style of the original band members. These bands are not only amazing at what they do but also there is a wide range and variety of them that play in Dublin frequently. Below are examples of some great tribute bands with live events coming up!
Live Forever Oasis-Button Factory Temple Bar Dublin December 29th 2023
If like most of us, you were heartbroken when the Manchester duo Oasis split, here is the perfect opportunity to reel in the years and listen to some of your favourite songs live once again! At a cheap price of 22.50 this live reenactment of one of the best Indie bands to ever do it may just be worth your while. Having personally seen these live I can almost guarantee that you will not be disappointed. From the voices to the costumes and fan interactions these men do it all like the originals and may be worth checking out.
