In Super Mario Maker 2, if a POW Block falls on top of a Yoshi's head, it will bounce off. As up to two Yoshis per player can be loaded at any one time, they can be set up in the way shown in the footage so that they keep "juggling" a POW Block back and forth.

As POW Blocks act like ground while in mid-air, this can be used to enter otherwise unreachable mid-air doors.

In the original SNES version of Super Mario RPG, there is a box of toys on the floor of Booster's room at the top of Booster Tower, though it is extremely difficult to discern anything in it except for the Peach doll. The game's Nintendo Switch version makes the toys clearly visible, revealing previously unseen cameos.

In addition to the Peach doll, the box contains: -a toy of Samus from the Metroid series -a toy of Diskun, the mascot of the Japan-only Famicom Disk System (known to Western audiences for appearing as a trophy and a spirit in the Super Smash Bros. series) -a toy of the red car from Stunt Race FX for the SNES (though not with the same color scheme it has in the game, leading some to believe this is not a direct reference to Stunt Race FX but merely an extremely unlikely coincidence) -in addition, the Peach doll is sitting on top of a ROB accessory for the NES/Famicom, particularly the Japanese version of it.

Super Mario Odyssey contains platforms known as "mysterious clouds" or "cap clouds". These appear as a floating top hat with a question mark on it, and are intended to be activated from afar by throwing Cappy at them, which makes them expand into cloud platforms for a short time.

If the player decides to save time by attempting to activate the cap cloud not from the safety of another platform, but while jumping directly into it, a humorous scenario like the one shown in the footage can occur. The platform's expansion, which actually has a hitbox instead of being purely a visual effect, will cause Mario to recoil violently, resulting in him dying if this is attempted in a location with many bottomless pits.

Mario Family was a Japan-only 2001 software for the Game Boy Color that was designed to let the console interface with a sewing machine via a special connection cable, enabling it to be used to send commands to the machine and let it sew Mario designs onto fabric.

Above is footage of the program in action, sending information to the sewing machine and letting it embroider a Peach design.

In the "Bulrush Coming Through!" level of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, the Wonder Effect summons a stampede of Bulrush enemies that knock over the level's flagpole, clearing a path further into the level that leads to a second flagpole.

If another player has already reached the flagpole by the time the stampede reaches it, that player will die, as shown by Luigi being thrown offscreen in the footage.
