Letter to myself 10 years later.
I hope you are where I want to be.
Doing everything that I want to do.
Are you still single?
Are you still drinking everyday?
I hope you can afford your own drinks now.
I will slave my ass off for you.
So that you can afford your own drinks.
So that you can take Mom out for nice dinners everyday.
Take over the burden of the bills,
Ease her of all her worries.
I hope she hasn’t found out about our habits.
I will have long sleepless nights,
Working.
So that you can pay back,
All the kindness that everyone has shown me thus far,
All the drinks to be covered,
All the meals to be treated,
All that people has done for us back then,
I hope you have returned the favour,
And more.
Also, I hope that you have been eating turtle soup,
Once every week,
For awhile now.
Remember,
Do not go back to the Chinatown stall.
I hope you are doing what you love.
Everything.
I wish I know what will happen next right now,
So that I can be better prepared for it.
At least mentally.
But I will slave now,
So that you will have a good time.
Remember to always love yourself.
I hope you are laughing from your heart again.

Letter to my 17 year old self.
You are in a good place.
Life has always been unkind to you.
But right now,
You are in a place you will miss a lot in 5 years time.
You won’t be able to stop talking about it.
It’s the highlight of your life.
Trust everyone.
One day, people will backstab you,
Leave you for dead,
Metaphorically, but still,
Trust everyone.
Do your best at everything.
Be honest with yourself.
That girl that you like?
We both know who,
Don’t try to deny it.
Tell her.
It won’t end well.
But at least you’re honest.
Anything that you want to do,
Just do it,
Live fearlessly.
Fearless of consequences.
You only regret all the things that you did not do.
Smile everywhere, laugh every single day.
There are a lot less to laugh about these days.
