Sonyas lament
An artwork ages in the making finally finished! This is „Sonya“, a runaway noble girl embroiled neck deep in a necromantic conspiracy in one of my games, Summers Sundry Schemes. There’s various symbols and elements of the game hidden in the image, such as the broken necklace as a symbol for her broken ties with her family, and the stars, which are symbols of death in the culture the game is set in. I really like how this turned out, the dreamlike atmosphere from the glow. She is supposed to look like she is just barely keeping her eyes open, trying not to give in. I think it worked out well.

Laz(arus), the undying soul
Tumblr media
Y’all… its been a long summer. So, besides graduating high school, a two month internship at a huge newspaper, getting into my dream college, a bunch of changes in my personal life, a whole court trial and two dnd games ending and another one starting, I have been busy! Nevertheless, now I am home and I have some art to upload, hopefully chronologically.
This is Laz, the Watchers Paladin in my feywild game, where I play a bard. I hope to draw the entire party eventually. They are a reborn haunted by strange spirits, to whom their oath was made, too. They scare me (for reasons I can’t yet talk about) and impress me every session and drawing them was a joy. Since the game is all about each party member missing something important, I drew them with the thing they lost: their memories! I‘m pretty proud of the lighting. overall and all the hidden symbols of resurrection in the armour (lillies, lotuses, phoenixes, lazarus crosses and more!)
Details (Remember to click on the images for better quality, tumblrs previews aren’t good!):

1) Find what you are willing to put effort and time into, something you are passionate about.
Look at what motivated you to start being active, that's usually a good place to start. Climate change, unemployment, systematic racism, etc.
And consider what your time and effort look like; making flyers, budgeting, spreading the cause online, networking, protesting?
2) Pinpoint local community problems.
Is it food or housing insecurity for example? Is it a food desert? This is where knowing your community will be helpful; others in your community may be able to help with these things. Just remember not to take on projects bigger than you can realistically do, activist burnout is very real.
Also, the issues your community faces may not be directly linked to the things you're passionate about. You may have to compromise that you will be indirectly aiding your true passion than directly, for example. That's okay. Bring this up with your community after their more immediate needs are met.
3) Decenter yourself and learn.
Your ideas are amazing I'm sure, but it's good to remember to learn the basics about mutual aid before you start throwing out ideas. In general, it's good to learn the basics about Any given movement before you start throwing out solutions for it.
4) Talk to your community.
Building on the last point your community will know which issues are important to them and likely already have ideas on how they could be addressed.
Also, talk to people. Go to community events like games and other community events. Don't be a socialist weirdo proselytizing on the town Facebook page about the importance of a community you never interact with.
5) Now it's time to work with the community to reach your goals.
You did it! You know your role, how you can help, you have a cause, goals, and ideas to reach them now! Mutual aid time babeyy.
From here you can build more formal groups and even network to mutual aid groups in other cities. You could form free stores, community fridges or libraries, form tenants unions, and/or crowdfund for community medical expenses. Some (like the Black Panthers) even get big enough to have free medical clinics for there community members in need.
It's as complex as you make it.

I do a series on Tiktok/Reels called “Good Trans News” the whole idea was to try and give other trans people a reprieve from the constant barrage of bad news and try to provide hope by showcasing positive news that affects trans people.
I’m not sure why I never posted those videos on tumblr, because I think they could do some good here.
So here’s some good news!
It turns out that most people don’t hate us

officially decided that anyone who tries to divide the lgbt community is a fed. i dont care if you're not actually a fed, if you're causing infighting in a minority community then you're a fed who just isnt getting paid to be one. either apply for a job at the CIA or shut the fuck up

Several of my friends who previously self-identified as bi are realizing they've lost interest in men, generally speaking
A friend of mine who's identified as a lesbian her whole life fell in love with a very sweet and shy man
I lost interest in men a few years ago, fell in love with a non-binary person, and now I give them their T shots
Life and love are unpredictable
And "queer" is a great word that all of us like and self-identify with (along with our other, more specific labels), and I love that no matter what else happens, we're still, always queer

So Arizona launched an “education hotline” that allows “concerned parents” to report “””critical race theory””” and other things like ~gender identity~ being taught in the classroom
It would be a shame if the number and email were spread to bad actors looking to prank call the AZ Department of Education

I don't mean to be callous but when I talk about walkability/transit and someone says "what about people who live out in the country" I'm like yeah, what about them? What does that have to do with how people in cities get around?

I've got a request for a random table - d20 fantasy body modifications (tattoos, piercings, etc.) for a character / NPC to have. I'm talking things like elf-ear piercings, horn caps, living tattoos... stuff like that!
1d20 Fantasy Body Modifications
“Fairy Ladder” Piercings - a set of three or more industrial piercings for Elves and other long-eared folks
Claw Enhancements - popular among folks without natural claws, and those who want to strengthen or emphasize their natural claws. Minor transmutations can be used to add claws, and to harden, sharpen, and even re-color or re-shape existing claws.
Tattoo Pets - living tattoos of animals that run and play around the bearer’s skin.
Tooth Alteration - folks with sharp teeth want blunt teeth, folks with blunt teeth want sharp teeth. The decision to have one’s teeth magically altered can be influenced by dietary choices, sexual preferences, medical needs, and aesthetics.
Horn Caps and Cuffs - made of precious metals, sometimes set with stones or connected by lengths of chain.
Portal Gauges - jewelry for stretched earlobe piercings which form a pair of teleportation portals. Passing tiny objects from one side of your head to the other is rarely more than a party trick, but is pretty cool.
Almanac Tattoos - calendars, moon phases, weather, etc, these magical tracking tattoos are popular among mages, farmers, and more.
Tail Tip Piercings, which are all the rage among folks with tails these days.
Horn/Tusk/Antler carvings - tattoo-like carvings on the horns, tusks, or antlers of those who have them. Patterns and images are usually carved in rings.
Gills of Amphibious Breathing - having a pair of gills on one’s neck is both visually striking and incredibly useful for long swims. The transmutation ritual for permanent gills is quite costly, so temporary gills are popular for beach days and pool parties.
Tattoo Gardens - the growth and blooming of these plant images can be attuned to anything from the bearer’s mood, to actual weather and natural surroundings.
Illuminated Hair - why stop at regular hair dye when you could have hair that literally glows in the dark? Illuminated hair potions are applied in a similar manner to regular hair dyes, with similar longevity and similar risks of staining the bathtub if you aren’t careful.
Mithril Earrings - Mithril jewelry doesn’t come cheap, but it is prized for its striking blue-silver appearance and for being lighter weight than most other metals but still extremely durable. It is especially popular for creating large dangly earrings that would otherwise be excessively heavy.
Warding Tattoos - protective sigils can be tattooed in magical inks to ward against just about anything, from general protection to shielding against highly specific curses. Their effectiveness depends both on the potency of the ink and the skill of the tattoo mage who applies them.
Tongue Ring of Tongues - a tongue piercing which grants the wearer the ability to speak any language.
Third Eye - generally cosmetic, although a cunning seer might be able to leverage their third eye for more credibility among less magically-inclined folks.
Warlock’s Brand - sometimes called a “mark of eternal servitude”, their appearance varies depending upon to whom the bearer has sold their soul. Anything goes, really, from always-smoldering singe marks to patches of skin replaced by iridescent crystal.
Hair Snakes - usually all of a person’s hair is polymorphed into snakes, though some might choose to keep most of their hair and only have one to three snakes.
Feather/Scale Patterning - a magical alternative to tattoos for birdfolk, half-dragons, and other feathered or scaled people. Each scale/feather in a chosen area is dyed to create an image or pattern.
Tattoos of Warning - any individual bearing one of these magical tattoos can send a signal to the others who bear an identical mark. The signal is typically a feeling such as warmth or tingling on the location of the tattoo. More complex versions are available that allow the bearers to establish multiple signals represented by different sensations.

A lolth-themed back tattoo I designed for the Pc of a friend! This was my first time designing something like this, though recently I‘ve been getting a lot of practice designing tattoos, thanks to a very loyal client and their comissions.
This one was made to incorporate as many symbols of Lolth as possible and I‘ve recently decided to highlight the symbolism in my art more, so here it all goes:
The bottom landscape represents the demonweb pits, the domain of Lolth, the upper large spider is Lolth herself, her web and legs reaching all across the back, the black eyes show her omnipresent gaze over her followers. The writing is partially freestyled runes that are supposed to be secret messages in abyssal. Anything written in our script is drow. The translations, top to bottom: In Your Web, The Spider Endures (on the spider), Queen, With Mind And Body Devoted, Feed On Us, Before Her They Crawl
You may use this in your games, if you’d like, just don’t claim it as yours - its a free resource.

Encounter in the Moonlight - Phase Spider Drider
this is Orbb, a NPC I designed for one of my campaigns, but you can use this image as you like as long as you give credit. Originally, he was designed as a Drider whose spider parts were that of a Phase Spider. I‘m certainly not the first with that idea, but for his role as a guardian of the first Floor of a megadungeon, it works super well.

Recently discovered the absolutely wonderful podcasts by the Fool And Scolar Production Company and absolutely fell in love! I finished two of their podcasts in one week and made some small fanart since almost noone seems to post about them on here. Above you see some doodles/concept art for Dr. Nolira and Sun Sanon which are characters in the VAST Horizons Podcast (which you can find on spotify, yall) and below is the Season 1 Crew of The White Vault Podcast (which i found on Podbean but also Youtube). The sound design for both podcasts are amazing and i honestly reccomend both of em very much.
