There’s no IW. Just them live happily ever after and having their Christmas.

I’m sorry but like Marvel only gives us one movie of Captain Marvel and then she gets to save the universe with the Avengers??? I mean, like why not choose someone that we are more familiar with??? Who actually knows Thanos??? And is powerful?? And deserves a good redemption ark??? Like????? Loki?????

So, let me tell you my feelings on Captain Marvel. In general, I appreciate that they are finally giving a woman her own movie - definitely late in the game, but better late than never, I guess. And from what I know of Captain Marvel (which, admittedly, isn’t much at all), she’s a cool character who is very powerful. Also, it’s taking place in the 90s, which - um, yes, please. All of my 90s feels. So I don’t necessarily have a problem with Captain Marvel herself. 

However. The way that she is being shoe-horned into the current phase of the MCU feels very, very out of place. I mean, there has not been a single mention of her in 18 movies, and now suddenly, we see that Fury has her on speed-beeper for an emergency? Why haven’t we seen this before? It seems to me that when aliens were attacking New York for the first time ever would have been a good time to call in an emergency. Why didn’t Fury recruit her for the Avengers Initiative? Why wasn’t she alluded to or foreshadowed? 

Maybe these things will be explained in her movie, I don’t know. But essentially we’re getting this character whom no one’s ever heard of (in-universe, I mean) swooping in at the eleventh hour with all of her extraordinary powers to save the day because the Avengers - the heroes we’ve grown to care about deeply - couldn’t. And that’s how they want to conclude this MCU phase? With a big old dues ex machina? What is the goal here, exactly? Because if the goal is good storytelling, then Marvel, you’re doing it wrong.

It would have been fabulous to truly see Loki’s journey come full circle with Thanos and the Infinity stones. It would have been immensely rewarding and fitting to end this MCU phase with the first villain being the latest hero. Fighting side by side with Thor. Saving the planet he once tried to invade. I mean, it’s poetic. Unfortunately, Marvel seems to operate under the assumption that once a person flimsily recovers from their depression/mental health issues and makes a flimsy peace with their brother, then that person literally has no reason left to live anymore and can be killed off. Marvel seems to operate under the assumption that death is the only way to find redemption - like, if you don’t die for it, it doesn’t mean anything, I suppose? I don’t know what the logic is, but either way, we deserved Loki and there’s no need, at this point in the game, for a completely brand new character to come in and be the savior. 

But that’s just, like, my opinion, man.

But even after all of that chaos, when a fan tripped and fell, Xukun being the angel the he is, he turned back and tried to help her up (the security guards wouldn’t let him though and kept moving him forward) He kept turning back and told the fans to be careful ;; we don’t deserve him.

Idol || Cai Xukun x idol!reader

Waking up at 5am every day isn’t how I imagined my life would be like. From a young age I imagined myself as a nurse, helping people everyday. But here I am, an idol from SM Entertainment and waking up at 5am to help the idol producer trainees. Dropping down heavily into my seat I feel myself drifting off before someone shouts in my ear “Y/N!! MORNING!” I jump in surprise to see Justin and Chengcheng smiling brightly next to me. I grunt in response until in front of me Cai Xukun sits down. I wouldn’t say that I have a crush on him, more like I find him interesting. We had met before when he was part of the Chinese-Korean show called Super Idol and I was a judge for a couple of the episodes. I remember back then he still had crooked teeth and a shy smile. To be completely honest he didn’t make much of an impression on me during that show. It was when I came as a mentor that I realized his true potential. “Good morning Y/N!” He greets sweetly breaking me out of my thoughts. His voice cracks slightly from nervousness, I guess you could say he’s my Zuo Ye. I found that he’s been my fanboy for awhile now and I find it absolutely adorable. I smile at him and greet him back before Yanjun comes barreling at me. Of all of the trainees I would say I’m closest to him but he tends to flirt. A lot. He hugs me tightly and I feel myself needing more air and I claw my way out. Before I knew it we were rushed to the practice room. I went around listening to each group and checking their performances. I stop by Papillion and I hear Xukun rapping and I can’t help but stop and listen. His voice is so nice to listen to it has a certain texture that I can’t identify. Walking in I see Ziyi slightly pushing Xukun towards me. Smiling at them I ask to see their performance. As the music starts I notice that Xukun seems pretty distracted and misses the beat. Stopping the music, I walk over to them. “Hey, what’s going on? You guys were so good when I was by the door what happened? And Xukun can I have a word with you outside?” I walk away and he follows me quietly. Once we get outside, I turn to him and ask “what’s going on with you? I’ve never seen you mess up like that before! Especially with tomorrow as the day of the performance. I have to be honest it’s a bit disappointing since I expected so much from you.” Frowning at his feet he doesn’t say anything for a bit before breaking the silence “I just get nervous in front of you” he whispers quietly. I understood that but what confused me was that he’s performed in front of me many times before. “But you’ve done it so many times?” I question him gently. Taking in a deep breath he says “but this time I don’t see you as my idol. I see you as someone I want to be with. Someone that cares about me as much as I care about you.” Realizing what he meant I step back a bit to think. I knew the consequences of us dating so would it be worth it? “Listen, I know you understand what the consequences of being found out are right? I want to make sure this is what you really want. I don’t want you to only like me because I’m your idol.” I hold his hands tightly trying to let him know that it’s not a rejection. Looking at me seriously he says “I know. I know what will happen and I know how I feel. I don’t see you as an idol! I see you as a girl with a kind heart and lovable character.” Stepping closer I decide to hug him “if you’re certain, then I don’t see why I should hold back either.”
