It’s crazy how scripted this is, but it’s an awesome concept…
Eret showed the script of the scrapped DreamXD finale of the DSMP on stream. It goes into more detail than when Eret previously discussed this. In their stream, they go into some of the thoughts behind the script and why the finale was scrapped.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
youtube
The transcription of the script can be found below the cut.
ERET (MUST READ)
Wants to redeem self by saving the server
Feels guilty Foolish died in his place at the Red Banquet
At first, thinks Dream is biggest threat, and wants to take the revive book to protect the server
Cannot remember past with Foolish
Brings up that everyone knows they are forbidden from the End, but no one knows why
When looking into history for the museum, read ancient texts that said a terrible power lives there
FOOLISH (MUST READ)
Had a past with Eret that Eret can't remember
Thinks Eret's fascination with history is because of this
Ex-Totem of Death, so can sense catastrophic death is imminent on the server
Wants to defeat DreamXD and get the power to revive everyone, not just himself, to protect them from this
EVERYONE (MUST READ)
Stream 1:
Eret starts stream at his castle, travels to museum while talking about his past triumphs and failures
Foolish is waiting at museum, looking over items.
Wonders if Eret's fascination with history is because Eret can't remember Foolish and Eret's past together.
Eret and Foolish clean up birthday party mess Bad left
Foolish comments on the egg statue, and that he doesn't think it's done with them yet
Eret apologizes for not speaking to Foolish sooner, and that he felt guilty over Foolish dying at the Banquet to protect them
Eret brings up Dream as the bad guy and explains his goal of hunting down Dream and taking the revival book to protect the server
Foolish explains how Dream isn't the real threat, it's DreamXD
Fighting with Dream over the revive book is pointless because DreamXD can undo anything they do
Eret and Foolish go over all of the "DreamXD Lore"
As an ex-totem of death, Foolish can sense catastrophic death of the server is imminent.
If Foolish can take DreamXD's power, he can resurrect everyone
Eret and Foolish go back to Erets castle. Other are waiting at the Round Table.
Round Table Meeting
Round table cast will be made up of anyone who wants to take part. But was not previously removed from taking part due to other lore
Eret and Foolish made their presentation to these people explaining DreamXD to everyone
Foolish isn't sure where DreamXD is
Eret read in ancient texts that a terrible power lives in the End, and how they all 'somehow' knew from the start not to go there
Arguments/Reasons why they can't help can be presented by anyone, People leave/stay based on their own reasoning etc
Eventually the core group is left
Eret presents his armor that he's prepared to the group
They all suit up and go to the stronghold he's excavated
Streams end as they all jump in
Stream 2:
Group arrives in DreamXD's dimension (Karl's Clock set)
DreamXD mocks them for challenging him
DreamXD says he can't play with them right now and teleports them to:
OPTION ONE: Group teleported to the End [Set /spawn], have to kill the dragon with two Withers flying around. Jump in portal after its defeat, TP'd back to DreamXD Realm.
OPTION TWO: Group teleported to Deep Dark [Set /spawn], perma blindness, have to kill a Wither while Wardens are around.
OPTION THREE: Group set into Adventure Mode, DreamXD summons a Dragon for them to kill with two Wardens wandering around.
The cast fights the dragons/withers
As they beat them. DreamXD continues to spawn waves of zombies/other mobs/ghasts and all sorts of creatures. Giving them all potion effects and other things designed to blind/kill them
They have a great battle, DreamXD clearly has the upper hand
Foolish cannot be killed; every time he goes below health, he is auto-revived by a totem, having foolish tank wardens would be epic
Once everything is dead, they are teleported back (if sent to End)
Foolish mocks DreamXD for this, tells him to come down and fight
DreamXD laughs at him, calls them worms in the mud
Points out DreamXD GAVE Foolish that power
Strips Foolish of his granted immortality
The gang realizes they have no hope of beating him now
Suddenly DreamXD gets distracted, looking towards sky
Laments that he had too much fun and they distracted him, and now it is too late for the server
Flies up in the air, says that he can't wait to see what they'll do in the next life
A bright light, fade to black

Hot take: Janaya enemies with tension > Janaya lovers. And Viren is just haunted by erotic symbolism in a lot of his relationships ("On. Your. Knees.", the "swallowing" of Aaravos's bug, "our son"). There is no WAY they wrote that S5 ending without Viravos crossing their mind.
Also--consider BLOODSUN (Aditi x Kim'dael). If you read their short story, The Queen's Mercy, the toxic yuri potential is OFF THE CHARTS!!
They're evenly matched in power, ego, manipulation, and notoriety. But while Aditi is revered as all-good, wise, merciful, and all-powerful, she enslaves a woman to her bloodline for eternity with a searing metal collar. And the ruthless and cunning Bloodmoon Huntress--the last of her kind--expects to sneak under the radar of Aditi's pride and appeal to her notorious mercy, only to find that Aditi LET her walk herself into that trap.
i love how there are normal healthy gay couples in the dragon prince like. janai and amaya! or ethari and runaan! but we viravos shippers still choose to zero in on the most toxic silly billy gays as an option 🫠

And we have Aaravos teaching Viren to drain Zym's power with "He swallows your mind, he swallows your power, he swallows your soul". And Claudia being Aaravos's latest and most powerful pawn...
Plus. Viren literally swallowed Aaravos (😏)'s caterpillar form so he could sneak into the Sunforge.
And Dark magic is referred to as "consumption" of magic, of draining the magic from living creatures, similar to consumption of meat.
Even blood magic requires drinking the blood of elves.
There's a theme here...
Yeah so the way that Aaravos is enormous in the arc 2 title sequences:

...and Claudia befriends and frees the imprisoned giant in Puzzle House, who reassures her that he doesn't want to eat her:

But we know that this giant is hangry:

"I'm here for you if you want me" vs "I'm here whether you want me or not." One is for them, the other is for you.

Claudia: I know. Soren: Good. I need to know that... all this won't get in the way of doing what we came here to do.

I think Viren is more used to expressing ire than humility or affection, because he constantly needs to appear respectable and stoic; to admit wrongdoing or uncertainty wounds his ego and exposes potential chinks in his reputation. So when he is attempting emotional honesty, he could be feigning hesitance and stepping down from his egoic pedestal so the 'normal people' drop their guard. But it sounds less natural, because it's not his normal method.
Viren’s voice
i love Viren’s voice, okay. It’s cool and smooth and generally chill. Very nice to listen to. I especially love that little hitch he does when he’s searching for words. It’s kinda cute.
But it’s also scary, because of the times when his voice doesn’t hitch.
Viren gives off a bit of an absent-minded academic vibe sometimes, as if he has these great ideas but doesn’t know how to express them clearly. When he says lines like “We may be on the brink of… changing times,” and “Right now… I… do not come to you as my king…” it’s pretty obvious that he’s grabbing for language to make his point.
Cool cool. We all do that.
But what he’s really doing is softening his intent. Viren is trying to make his true feelings and motives more palatable for those around him. For his children, for his king. For those whose opinions he values.
When Harrow rejects him and tells him he’s gotten above his station, Viren drops all pretense. His anger and hurt make his voice come out fast and smooth and strong.
“Oh, are you sure you wouldn’t prefer ‘Your Royal Highness’?”
Tumblr media
“’Your Esteemed Inimitable Majesty’, perhaps?”
Tumblr media
Viren words here are like molten gold. Smooth, fluid, fast, rich, and deadly to the touch. These are his true feelings, which he so rarely shares. But Harrow is in a far different mindset than usual, and they’re both under a lot of stress, and Viren loses his cool. His words pour out hot and deadly, and he doesn’t care, in that moment, about impressing Harrow anymore.
Viren starts off very cordial and reasonable when he tries to get information about the mirror out of Runaan. “If you don’t eat, you’ll die.” And “You don’t look dead. Though…that hand has seen better days.”
Tumblr media
But Runaan is angrily opposed to even being civil with Viren, let alone being helpful, so Viren quickly downshifts, seeking a motivation that will work on the elf.
When he comes back in with the coins–when he dumps them out in front of Runaan–he knows exactly what he’s doing. His voice is smooth and velvety. He’s entirely pleased with how things are going, and he’s getting everything he wants from the situation.
“Oh, this isn’t a bribe. It’s a threat. Go on, take a closer look.” Viren doesn’t have a need to impress Runaan anymore. He tried the soft way and got nowhere. Now he’s just flexing his dark magic muscle. He can do whatever he likes with Runaan, and no one will stop him. And they both know it.
So when Viren speaks, his voice pours out in an easy, smooth stream of comfortable power. This is Viren at his hottest (gods help me). He knows his place and he isn’t afraid to stand there.
Tumblr media
Look at this look on his face. He’s expected a result, and he’s gotten it. He’s reveling not only in being right, but in shaking Runaan up, hopefully so he’ll spill some intel about the mirror.

Huh--I've seen people describe Claudia and Ezran as autistic, but not Soren.
It makes a lot of sense.
And it fits with how he describes his emotions--he apologizes for bullying Callum by explaining his jealousy and thought process (how Harrow constantly declared his love of Callum, while Viren was constantly disappointed). And when he leaves, Soren offers Claudia a chance to come with him. No assumptions, no hidden games--just Soren asking her to join, then leaving when she refuses. He's honest and straightforward, and respects her decision.
TDP rewatch: autistic Soren?
I spent a lot of time going along with everyone else saying that Soren was a big dumbass. And for that, I would now like to apologize. I don’t think Soren’s dumb. I think he’s autistic.
As an autistic person, I feel bad for not spotting this earlier. But, like Soren, I do have a tendency to believe what I’m told, especially when everyone is saying the same thing. And this may not be canon, ever, but that’s okay. I see Soren in a new light now, and I know that light. (Gods, S3 is really gonna wreck me now)
He doesn’t get sarcasm. He takes Rayla’s “obviously” sarcastic comment at face value. He’s also not good with metaphor, taking a long time to grasp “butter them up.” Once he’s figured out what he should do–lie about the king–he does a very bad job of it because the emotions he needs to embrace to sell the lie aren’t familiar to him.
He’s very good with rules. A father who needed a son who was rooted in the narrative of strength could easily have trained an autistic child to bind himself within those rules form a young age. It’ll be very hard for Soren to question rules that he consciously chose to follow himself.
He doesn’t understand the shifting of loyalties. First he’s a loyal Crownguard, and then he’s supposed to detain Callum because his dad asked him to? Soren’s genuinely confused.
He still chooses to protect Callum when the assassins attack, even shoving him to safety from Runaan’s arrow, because those old rules of loyalty to the royal family haven’t been shifted.
He’s also slow to react to the arrow striking him. He takes precious reaction time to study it closely. He’s probably never seen a Moonshadow assassin’s arrow before. It telescopes in three places. It’s green. It probably smells faintly of poison. Soren’s possibly also never been shot before. All these physical details are hitting him at once, all with equal force, and it takes him a moment to sort through them, process them, and remember that the arrow means the assassins have arrived.
He spends time and effort trying to speak others’ languages, but he doesn’t always get it right. He knows Claudia’s nose trick but he can’t perfectly replicate it. He misinterprets Rayla’s angry intent as personal interest. He really tries to connect with his dad by offering his “see-saw” comment (which is actually right on the money as far as the show’s themes are concerned).
He’s oddly focused on the difference between a prince and a “step-prince.” Not in a mean way, though. He thinks it means he’s paying attention to small details, which people often like. Not particularly in this case, though.
He really does just want to fit in. He does whatever Viren says because he wants to be accepted, not just as Viren’s son but as a not-weird, not-useless person.
Claudia’s the one who makes the jokes. He happily lets her lead on the mission to Mount Kaelik and has no ego attached to being in charge of her.
He’s really awkward with his brotherly feels when he calls her “weep-ridden” and offers to help by punching Callum. Autistics can struggle with language, especially in unfamiliar emotional territory and under stress.
He hyperfocuses on being a Crownguard, though, which is why he’s so good at it, and why he’s in charge. He does nothing but train. He loves being a Crownguard. He knows that role inside and out. He knows when to order men into position, and he knows when to shut up and hand the king his sword.
He insists that sweeping the leg is not a thing, though, because it’s outside his training. None of the Crownguard instructors taught him that, and so it is outside the rules.
When he votes that Corvus is a traitor and gets Claudia to vote with him, he’s reinforcing the rules that he learned. The black-and-white shield on his armor isn’t just an indicator that he’s straddling the line between good and evil and will one day have to make a choice. It’s showing the way Soren sees the world: everything is either inside the rules, or outside them. Soren doesn’t see gray areas. But he might learn to very soon.
He’s cheerily cold-blooded about lopping Runaan’s head off and trying to kill Rayla because empathy is a strange animal for autistic folks. Sometimes it’s really high, and sometimes it’s nonexistent, even within the same person. Between a low empathy for elves and his Crownguard training, Soren legitimately doesn’t see any problem with killing them, even at the age of 18.
He knows the rules on how to deal with dragons: you fight them. And he gets a whole town torched. He was entirely unprepared. But his ego wasn’t in this fight. He freed Corvus because he understands that a Crownguard’s job is to protect Katolis, and that includes the townsfolk. And he admitted his mistake to Claudia because filters are hard under stress, and the truth just pops out like that.
When he’s paralyzed, Soren has no ego attached to remaining a Crownguard, either. His hyperfocus has broken. He was growing increasingly stressed by his dad’s secret mission. And he immediately seeks a new hyperfocus: poetry. He gives it a shot, and he’s terrible at it. He hasn’t actually internalized any poetry rules yet. He’d become a good poet pretty quickly, if he had the chance. But Claudia came to heal him instead.
As S2 ends and the siblings head home together, Soren has no plan anymore. He has no rules for what’s gonna happen, and he can’t anticipate Viren’s reaction but he expects it’ll be bad. He asks Claudia for help in understanding what his parameters should be, because that’s a long trip home, and that’s a lot of time spent worrying over scenarios that he has to consider because he can’t narrow it down–every possibility is a legitimate possibility to him.

Man, I wish we got a scene of her meeting Lucy Gray...or better yet, one after Coryo returns and she asks what happened, and realizes how much he's changed. I just feel like she'd try to turn him, to see what went wrong, before she accept she's his father.
nothing truly breaks my heart like tigris at the end of tbosas. the way she looked at coriolanus, trying to find a glimpse , just a glance of the little boy she raised. the boy that she tried so hard to pull into the light. the boy she fought tooth and nail for. the boy she swore could be good.only to realize that he is gone . not only that but he turned into the thing she feared the most for him.his father
she looked at crassus’ coriolanus snow trying to find her coryo

I like this! I guess they couldn't use it...
Maybe it's a stretch, but the first thing Finnick says to Katniss is "Sugar cube?"
And the last thing Lucy Gray tells Snow is "Well, I'm not made out of sugar."
don’t try to convince me that one of those secrets about snow finnick knew about wasn’t lucy gray. he was so close to mags, who won the 11th hunger games, a few MONTHS after lucy gray’s games. mags definitely remembers lucy gray and probably something about what happened between her and show, and she definitely would’ve told finnick
idc about any plot holes in this theory im dying on this hill ok

Lucy Gray walked off into those woods and fifty years later, Katniss came out.
Tumblr media
This also reminded me of how she said that Katniss wasn’t quite ready to harvest yet. Saying like “Katniss will take some time but eventually it’ll have you dealt with.” and it did! Fate sent him a Karma in the form of Katniss Everdeen.
Katniss who was a reminder of Lucy Gray, of his loved ones, of everything Sejanus stood for. Katniss who was a reminder of his PAST SELF- of a time where he could’ve done the right choices (with Lucy Gray, Tigris, correcting his father's sins with Highbottom etc.) of a time where everything could’ve been different.
Snow mentioned Lucy Gray strongly believed in fate when she said “You’re mine and Im yours. It’s written in the stars.” Of course he didn’t believe it. So when she was gone and Coriolanus Snow chose to cross that line of evil never turning back, the stars made sure that he will be haunted of it to his death.
A masterclass of storytelling right there. Suzanne you icon, you legend.

And he used his father's compass to guide him out…like he was picking up where his father left off.
Can we PLEASE talk about the detail in the movie about how Snow’s dad died in the woods around District 12, because it’s making me insane. I think it was Dr Gaul who said something like he’s “lost in the trees” and I’m absolutely losing my mind over the layers of influence that moment in the forest had on Coryo.
Crassus Snow was lost in the woods of District 12 and was found again within his son. Because it was that moment of finding the guns and going after Lucy Gray that turned Coryo into his father. Where he rejected his mother’s goodness and the life he could’ve had with Lucy Gray and chose to carry out the legacy his father started with the hunger games. Snow lands on top.
