my favorite ship is dolokhov and me😋 no but i this is such a good question… i think i like him with anatole but JUST for shits and giggles. like they’re just evil together and it works for them you know? i really like how their dynamic is portrayed in the great comet (the musical) when fedka is the more reasonable one which doesn’t really make sense since he’s just as insane as kuragin but it’s funny when they’re in a middle of abducting natasha and fedya is like “anatole darling i think you haven’t thought this through would you allow me to talk you out of this when we’re in the middle of doing this?😊” AND HE GENUINELY THINKS THAT ANATOLE WILL LISTEN (he obviously doesn’t). and then anatole goes on this long rant how dolokhov thinks that he’s not being grateful etc etc

and i think about his situationship with nikolai literally every day and im SO MAD that tolstoy just kind of got rid of it. like you know this affair with sonya… just why. i mean i GET why he liked sonya since this passage from the novel is ingrained in my brain:

but still i don’t see what’s the point making fedka sad and depriving him of nikolai’s friendship in this way. (maybe he just wanted to show off with his writing in that gambling scene with nikolai and fedka because i vividly remember being literally on the edge of my sit while reading it). especially since sonya doesn’t marry nikolai at the end (thankfully) and if she did ended up with fedya i genuinely think they would be happy. like he would change for her and stuff. i think he would actually be willing to. they’d be all lovey dovey with each other. so i like them as a theoretical option since tolstoy decided to make sonya miserable.

AND ALSO HONORABLE MENTION: fedka and pierre. they scratch my brain. very nice. (i cried about them once). (the duel scene makes me want to smash my head against the wall). i love drama
