punching plateaus can be beaten without left or right inputs so thats neat

(to clarify pressing up and down is allowed else thisd be impossible, and i was not holding left or right during wall running thats just the game automatically doing it from a dash attack)

i also tried the rest of jibberish jungle like this, only other level i was able to beat is over the rainbow and i got really far in its a jungle out there (I COULDNT GET PAST THE SECOND VINE AT THE LITERAL END OF THE LEVEL), geyser blowout, and decently far in swinging caves

i drafted this like 5 days ago oops

anyway to elaborate on the goth teensy mention here

so this basically sort of sums him up but hteres more to this

ok i should probably put this below read more turns out i can ramble a lot about some random teensy with barely any existing lore

this originated during a roleplay as me really quickly on the spot trying to justify why hes not watching over the dead door

and it just sorta. built from here with other roleplays. so so basically hes friendly but naive and has memory issues, has a hard time remembering things like ever

aside from like the mega important or remarkable ones. like he has no idea what he did this morning but he does remember being classmates with ales mansay (whose name he does not remember. he also kind of forgot his own actual name because everyone only ever calls him goth teensy)

he did start accomodating for it by taking notes but yeah

so yeah let me just repost from discord what ive said

im solidifying goth teensys characterisation more actually hes actually a lot like globox in a lot of ways but ottally diff vibes right i wanted to talk more about that. theyre both really friendly and naive and kind of stupid and also cant remember names and also scared of things easily [ADDITION that wasnt in the original message: to clarify hes not like, a coward moreso just panics easily]. but goth tesnsy isnt like. as sillyfunny fun loving hes just there and also his brain is kind of broken (friend said this) He's also aware of it and doesn't like it yeah

its just funny to me to imagine these guys wer classmates before ales dropped out my htought process was exclusively stemming from the fact that they dress kinda similarly by coincidence thres something ot say here about goth teensy being able to persevere even with Brain Problems and ales was just so bad at magic he dropped out i think for him it was more of like a combinaition of bad learning and eventually just spite over being bullied by everyone for ti side note i always make fun of him too for not being able to magic but the "you stunk at magic" from the bubble dreamer desc suggests ales COULD do some form of magic he is just Not Good At It

im not sure im conveying my ideas super well but yeah

i ahd more to say about this doofus than i expected

also i think hes paler like the earlier design i actually recently made a mod that recreates it

last post i mentioned this in tags but this is i tjink the furthest ive gotten so far in land of the livid dead in origins without any deaths

i will keep grinding this from time to time. i hope to get it at least up to big mama. i dont know if id be able to beat her first try after all that too (but i hope to someday)

Im like a few levels off from the final boss for context and only just now got the second last health upgrade

Well actually that does align with another head canon of mine that Glade of Dreams passage of time is very different to earth’s time and depending on where you reside in the Glade time zone difference is exaggerated to the max.

even lands and countries develop completely differently in the Glade due to that which is why one village can look like a medieval kingdom meanwhile another town has more advanced tech like robots and then some places just look so surreal and wacky that the progression of time isn’t noticeable.

So like while Rayman would be over a hundred in Glade times he’s actually 28 biologically and in earth time. Globox would be like 32.

oh thats really interesting! neat way to justify the differences in like, levels of technology in places. i just assumed time is linear and some places are just Like That

I always did have the head canon that after Rayman Legends most of Globox’s kids already grew up since both Ray and Globox slept for 100 years some of them even had kids of their own

i really didnt like the 100 years thing so i built an entire glade years system around it so it like. effectively felt like ~3 years of nothing in particular happening

to elaborate on this im just assuming everyone has the equivalent of a human lifespan (but they can go beyond that if theyre stubborn enough) but one earth year (in a human lifespan that is) = 30 glade years

as in like, if rayman was the equivalent of a 13 year old in rayman 1, in actuality he would be like around 390 in glade years. and nearly 4 entire centuries is still considered pretty young

in addition i think a glade year itself is like a third of earth's year, like the planet revolves faster around the suns. so the ACTUAL time passed would have been, in this comparison, around 130 earth years

so to summarize the actual timespan of his existence at this age would have been ~130 earth years, which is ~390 glade years because its years are shorter, and this is the equivalent to being a 13 year old. does that make sense. ive put a lot of thought into this

its kind of fun i think

and yeah i think the kids are maybe like teenagers at most now

#rayman #this is my most significant headcanon that was even influenced by legends #also i think only every 5th birthday really gets celebrated since theyd be more frequent than on earth #honestly could be every 10th? bc thats still a much higher density of birthdays per lifespan than for us humans on planet earth

i should talk about my rayman headcanons more

because i dont really look at what the general consensus is about headcanons and i just discuss them with my friends, and also because of some influence from our silly little roleplays, it feels a bit like my headcanon is like an animal that lives on an island and thus evolved to be weird. its like a moa or a dwarf elephant

like. "rayman is the only one in the rayman/globox/murfy trio that has a normal positive relationship with his parent". "catastrox is going to grow up to be like goth teensy just with more evenly distributed brain problems". who else would come up with this
