               𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐔𝐀𝐍 𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐅𝐀𝐑 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐁𝐄𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐑𝐘. they were filled with sass and a large stretch of patience before they were wild, playful and trusting. persistence was one of dani’s stronger suits, and was her backbone in the duration of their friendship. but despite her redeeming ( as dani would claim ) qualites, most still wondered how the likes of her could have toppled down dayuan’s well-built wall. ❝ i hope you didn’t miss me too much, day. i know i’m like your most favorite person in the whole world and would like to spend much more time with me, but work’s been kicking me sore lately. ❞ she teased, her free arm finding its way around her best friend’s shoulders. the ying to her yang was a very important piece in her life, and she made sure that nothing can jive between them— not even her living her dream job. ❝ before i surprise you with where we’re headed, why don’t you fill me with what has happened to you ? did nursing school finally put that cheeky mouth of yours in place ? ❞

𝐓𝐀𝐈‌:

He’s taken aback by her response, brows scrunching together slightly in confusion. “Hey, I’d think it was nice if someone asked me how my sleep was.” Tai knows some parts of the past few months were a blur for him, but he assumed he’d know if he pissed Dani off, wouldn’t he? “Anyway, what’s going on? What did I do? I haven’t seen you in a while and—ah shit. Was it a drunk text or something? I haven’t been checking all the notifs, but please tell me I didn’t send anything rude.”

               𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐆𝐄𝐓 𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐘, angrier than she poses to be, but tai has placed her in a state of confusion instead. truthfully, dani herself could not believe what had ensued between the two of them, knowing full well that tai was one of many people that she considers owned a great heart. but also the fact that tai seemed lost about it as well, rage became nothing but a lost sentiment. ❝ you’re a great actor, tai, but drop the act. you know what happened. ❞ her voice, something pegged to always be so cheery and confident, was unsure. ❝ does talking about my family ring any bell ? ❞

𝐍𝐈𝐊𝐀:

normally, it would take a lot more to ease her frustration especially from a lost game and to persuade her from doing other things rather than playing a game, but who was she kidding? the sound of alcohol was good enough to make her close the door and hold her friend as she guided them throughout her apartment, bringing them both to the living room and have dani, who have seemed to be drunk, sit on the couch. “so, i guess we’re celebrating it in my apartment then? and i’m kicking you out if your promises are nothing but a fraud. i don’t take empty promises very well and who knows? maybe we could do more than just celebrating with alcohol.” a wink. as fast as lighting, nika went to the kitchen to get a glass of her own and a bottle of tequilla and went back to where her friend was. “i mean, where’s the fun in you providing all the drinks, it’s probably not as strong as what i have with me anyways.” nika had always loved tease people, it didn’t matter if it was her friends or not. as long as she got to annoy them a bit, it was enough for her. and besides, it has always been their reaction. “before we get into our mini celebration. why don’t you tell me about it first? and would you prefer blasting off something loud or nah?” she asked while pouring herself a glass of wine.

               𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐔𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐔𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐄 𝐂𝐇𝐎, as so it seems. dani prided herself over the skill of persuasion she believed she possessed, and seeing the irked look on nika’s face transform into bright and teasing, she praised herself wordlessly and with a glittering smile. ❝ you know me, i don’t make promises i can’t keep. well, i did say more drinks on me, i didn’t specify where we’d drink those. a night out is an offer i’ll never take away from the table. ❞ danielle and nika’s friendship has a unique vibe to it— all the teasing and coquettish winks may send someone into a heated mess, but dani loves the attention. she craves the storm with a hint of cold breeze that brings the thrilling feeling once it drapes onto your skin, something that no one has yet granted her except nika. ❝ i’ve always been a wine person, but i knew i can always count on you for hard drinks. ❞ she replied, putting the bottle of wine on the table haphazardly before she slumped on the sofa, head getting less dizzy as she let the seat cushion her. nika’s teasing would often put dani at the edge of her seat, although it was something she wouldn’t want to show and masked it with nonchalance or a similar wit. ❝ hm, being an adventurous person that i am, i decided to make a line far from my company’s vision. i could bore you with the details, but really, what mattered here was that i finished it and the higher ups liked it. ❞ she explained with the occasional sips from her wine to increase her adrenaline. ❝ oh, play whatever pleases you and makes your chest thump, y’know ? ❞

𝐓𝐀𝐈·:

Sitting at a table in the cafe, Tai lifts a fork to his mouth, finally taking a bite out of his tarte tatin. It was early, sure, but even then, his companion was being strangely quiet. He glanced up at Dani, trying to discreetly study her expression before he decided that she seemed a little cranky. He takes another bite before he breaks the silence. “Um. Earth to Dani. Did you get enough sleep last night?” // @zealvcs·

               𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐒 𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀 𝐖𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐃𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐎 𝐉𝐎𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐈 𝐓𝐎𝐃𝐀𝐘, her mind still clouded by tai’s insensitive words, and her frustration was not subdued at all. it was so odd to have encountered her friend in such manner the last time they saw each other, so strange that he was persistent on a topic she was never fond of discussing. but what was even more weird— was the way tai acted as if nothing terrible happened between them. dani looked up from her untouched pastry and with a frown, she hissed, ❝ are you serious ? i’m mad at you and the only decency you have is to ask how my sleep was ? ❞

𝐄𝐂𝐇𝐎:

the day starts as any other and goes on without a hitch that is until his phone rings while he’s closing down the clinic and he picks up without checking the caller id. so far, echo has managed to dodge calls from his parents but one moment of inattention and they get what they want. it’s been eight years since he’s last spoken or seen any of them. part of him hoped things had changed, that they’d realised he wasn’t such a disappointment after all for wanting to make his own path but no, nothing has changed. it never would. frozen in shock he does nothing but subject himself to thirty minutes of being threatened into keeping his mouth shut, as if echo would go out of his way to ruin their perfect reputation and mingle with the world he escaped again. once he’s in the safety of his apartment, he allows the tears to stream down his face, his breathing getting more and more labored from the rising panic within him. shaky hands grab the phone and echo reaches out to the only person he’s comfortable talking to in this moment and that would understand.

               𝐎𝐍 𝐀 𝐓𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐃 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐔𝐂𝐇 𝐀𝐒 𝐓𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓, danielle cho can be found slopping around her couch, lazily flipping through television channels until she’ll find something particularly interesting. and although she was never successful at finding at least one after hours, her eyes remained wide open as she didn’t feel an ounce of drowsiness at all. heaving a sigh, she switched it off just in time for her phone to signal a new message. who would bother her at such hour ? she thought while her eyes skimmed through the text. suddenly, her mind and soul were in a feud, rereading echo’s words repeatedly as though to verify she wasn’t whipping things from thin air. a frown adorned her lips, hand tightening around the mobile sourly. no matter how hard she’d rack her brain for someone who would hurt echo this much, it still rounded up to particular individuals— the very same kind of people that danielle’s caught in a strife too. yes, she understands, that doesn’t mean it hurt any less. she’s grown to fondly care for echo, so much that a bite on him from the enemy would impel her to bite back harder. her fingers then tapped her words promptly as she panicked her way out of her apartment.

“dani, have you ever entertained the idea of just forgetting about mr. right for a hot second, and focus on mr. right now instead?” archer suggests, meeting her gaze with a playful twinkle in his eyes and a cheeky smile on his face, as he points at himself with both of his thumbs. “life is short, you know? i mean, my dream girl and future wife is probably out there right now, fake laughing at her boyfriend’s lame ass jokes, totally oblivious to the fact that a real clown is right here waiting for her. like, we’re kind of in the same boat, when you think about it, you know? so, why don’t we just give us a shot?”

               𝐀𝐒 𝐌𝐔𝐂𝐇 𝐀𝐒 𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐈 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐈𝐓, she broke into a fit of giggles after hearing archer’s statement. she looked over to him, eyes narrowed in crescent shapes while still astonished by his grit despite being used to his coquettish lines. it was no denying that danielle was aware of archer’s harboring crush on her, but she enjoys hanging out with the boy nonetheless as he bears a spunky attitude that she salutes so much. ❝ archer, you’re like a little brother to me, ❞ as so it seemed, dani didn’t have the knack of masking her interest, or lack thereof, in a subtle way. ❝ that’s right, and you should be spending your romance on someone who truly deserves it. you wouldn’t want to lose all your charm by the time your dream girl comes around, right ? ❞ arguably, dani was opposing her and her never-ending blind date shenanigans, but she grew to care for archer and wouldn’t want him disappointed.
