I don’t know why, but I’m dying to see Marc go to the museum Steven worked at (hoping it might be a way to bring him back because “come on, Steven. It’s your world here” and because it’s where Steven started building a life of his own) and meet Donna and she’s all judgy because he’s been fired, and he’s a loser - “what you doing here, stevie?”

And it irks Marc because he knows it irks Steven too. “It’s Steven. With a V”, he replies, with a look that she never saw in Steven before, and that prevents her from snapping back.

(And when Steven’s back, Marc tells him he’s got a surprise for him. And he takes them to the museum and Steven’s all like, ah, mate come on, I don’t really wanna go back here, it still hurts you know, wound’s still fresh, anyway, seems dull after everything that happened, but Marc enters and takes a badge that reads “Steven Grant - Tour Guide”

Wait, what is this?, Steven says as Marc pins it on his shirt. Marc, what did you do?

“It’s the job you wanted, isn’t it?”

I mean, yeah, it’s the job I dreamed of, but-

“I swear I didn’t kill nor torture anyone for this”, Marc says.

… threatened?

“Just a little. C’mon, you deserve it. They’ll realise soon enough that they’re lucky to have you.” Just like I did, he keeps to himself.

All ready, Marc puts himself in front of the mirror. “Alright, you’re up. Do your thing.”

“Cheers, thanks a lot.” Steven says, and the first thing he does is touch his new badge with a smile.)

this breaks my heart but I get both sides. Marc has only ever wanted to protect steven, but Steven now sees his entier life as a lie :((
