one thing i really love about saved by the bell 2020 (why shouldn't i give this mostly-forgotten show some love? why SHOULDN'T i??) is how they used jessie's infamous tragic past with caffeine for some great jokes but also worked it into a genuinely poignant plot point of her realizing her marriage was over because her awful self-absorbed husband didn't even care enough to get her decaf coffee
i just love how this show writes all the original-series characters, especially jessie and slater who we see the most, with such silliness but also such earnest love. this show remains to me, truly and completely, THE reboot/sequel that all others pale in comparison to.
