For the fabric i wanted to use fire for the fabric parts of the armor to show the fire of the phoenix in the warrior's armor
Armor Pieces
I looked into different armor pieces and see how i could incorporate them into my final character design. I also looked into how cloth was used for armor.

Story
My character is a male who is 30 years old and has been fighting for his hometown for 5 years. It was a normal day in his hometown when suddenly a fire breathing dragon had come out of nowhere and attack his hometown. The king had called his bravest and strongest knights to go slay the dragon. The knights were strong but were no match to the dragons. While all knights were knocked down and finished my character was the last one remaining and the dragon had set his firing breath to him and burned him into ashes. When all hope was lost a Phoenix out of nowhere had come and sent its blessings to the knight with a feather from its wings and the knight rises from his ashes stronger than ever before and slays the dragon.

My Idea
My idea for the character is to create a knight wearing a suit of armor of a phoenix, to show how the hero continues to rise up from his ashes to restore balance in his world
Armor Research
The Sumerians favored the use of leather capes and leather helmets in very ancient times (2800 B.C.). The Mycenaeans, 1300 years later, were still utilizing leather in shields and in armor.

Hurley also reports that the Akkadians were the first people to make use of metal helmets in war. Later (1292-1255 B.C.) a boiled leather breastplate or small metal plates attached to leather or a fabric were used for body armor.
As seen in the mosaic in Figure 2.1, the times were defined by grotesque imagery and many other artistic pieces from this era convey the same sense of chaos and hopelessness. Due to the anarchic events of the Late Medieval Age, this period was chosen from the larger scope of European history as the historical setting for the weapon of analysis. Tensions and wars were at their pinnacle while combat technologies remained traditional with heavy reliance on melee weapons such as the arming sword. To better understand the culture...
Scarred from the events of the Late Medieval Age, Europe experienced a complete rebirth of society and human thinking in what became known as the Renaissance.
Even though the origin of the Renaissance was in Italy, it quickly spread through all of Europe and facilitated the birth of many distinguished individuals of the era. Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was an Italian painter that is famous even today for his astounding feats in art, architecture, and science

Research on the Phoenix
The phoenix bird symbolizes immortality, resurrection and life after death, and in ancient Greek and Egyptian mythology it is associated with the sun god. According to the Greeks, the bird lives in Arabia, near a cool well
In Christianity, the Phoenix is often seen as a symbol of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The story of the Phoenix creature rising from the ashes has been interpreted as a metaphor for the idea of Jesus rising from the dead and being reborn, as well as for the idea of eternal life and the victory of good over evil
Over the years, Phoenix had more than 30 birds connected with the city. Many departments designed their own unique bird, which they displayed on municipal signs, stationery, city vehicles and employee uniforms.
In the fall of 1986, the city decided to establish a more contemporary, unified graphics program to present a clear image to the public, including having one phoenix bird symbol represent the city. Additionally, the city could save $50,000 each year by standardizing its stationery, patches, signs and business forms.
A citizen's committee was appointed to organize a design competition for a new graphic symbol for the city. The winning artist would receive a $25,000 commission to write and design a graphic standards manual to govern the use of the logo.
Because of the rebirth symbolism, a phoenix is often thought to represent a lot of good virtues such as grace and kindness. Others feel that each part of the bird symbolizes a different attribute. The body symbolizes kindness, the wings prosperity, and head reliability.

Phoenix
I decided to go with the concept as a phoenix for the character design, because of how they can come back to life using their own ashes...
