finally going to be doing a ruby and sapphire shoot at the end of this month!!! life kept getting in the way, but it’s finally happening. there’s a location local to us that is pretty perfect for us to use as the beach in front of the gem’s temple. we’re going to shoot there with con mom photography, who does great work and is always fun to shoot with. IT’S GUNNA BE GREAT

Does Sapphire plan on doing a tutorial on how she did her wig? I would literally DIE if I could even get mine to look half as decent!!
I didn’t take photos of my process or anything, so it would be an extremely messy, confusing, and ultimately useless tutorial I think. Regrets. ;_; But I basically followed Rufflebutt’s wig thickening tutorial, harvesting pieces from the second wig to add both to the general bulk of the main wig and the bangs. I hope that makes sense! Adding additional wefts to a wig is pretty easy, just a bit of handsewing and a bunch of clips to keep the fibres out of your way are all you need.

would you two ever consider doing a tutorial on how you did your face paint? it looks so nice!
Uuhh, probably not. We’re far from experts on face paint, (this was our first real experience) and we couldn’t really get it to seal 100% correctly. There are sooo many useful body painting tutorials for cosplay out there, though! Especially from Homestuck cosplayers.

Hi! I hope to do a ruby cosplay in the future and wanted to know What kind of paint did you use?
We used Ben Nye Cream Rouge in Raspberry~
If possible, we recommend going to an irl-costume shop that has Ben Nye products to test them on your actual skin. Your skin tone is relevant to how the paint blends in and looks! We went through about 3 shades of red before settling on this one for Ruby, all of which would have worked, but this one just blended the nicest with her complexion.

Hiya! I was wondering what fabric/tights/etc you used for Sapphire's arms? I couldn't find a color match anywhere for my own, so if you have a link, I'd really appreciate it!
I actually just went to my local fabric store with my body paint, found something stretchy in the right colour and made ‘arm tubes’ out of those. :3 That way you can get that colour match!
