every 2 weeks i cry about my mom. she is alive and living her life, but we’re not in each others. it’s been 14 months, and it was my decision, but i still feel guilty. i keep waiting for the day she comes to me, understanding of my feelings and why i cut her off. but every day, she doesn’t. i was 25 when we fought. i’m 27 now, and boy do i feel time moving.

when she was my age, she had me and my sister already. a mother of 2 with a man she would later divorce. she had to grow up at a young age, and so did i which you’d think would make her more empathetic. any boundary i put up was taken as an attack. any gift given to me was held over my head.

is this how she was raised? as the youngest child having to take care of her parents who can’t read? does she envy me bc i remind her of her own siblings who left her to care for her parents alone? is that how my sister feels?

i hate that my mother may think i hate her. i never could. i never doubted that she cared about me, but as i get older i wonder if she ever truly liked me as a person. i think that’s what hurts the most.

someone on tiktok mentioned they’re 24 and they’ve yet to be intimate with anyone romantically and someone commented and said that’s an awful situation to be in… like they were deadass serious lol y’all have got to stop shaming people for not having had the same experiences as you at a certain age. and that goes for everything in life. we all have different timelines. be respectful and understanding of that. and speak to people with love. help them if they don’t understand something that may come simple to you. answer their questions without making them feel less than. kindness goes such a long way.
