What does it mean to wake up in blood? ("im down bad waking up in blood" in Down Bad)
the metaphor/story of down bad is that a young woman was abducted by aliens, experimented on, then dropped back to earth, and she's waving at the ship begging it to abduct her again. it's a metaphor for how taylor was swept up in a life-changing romance with matty, then left utterly destroyed by heartbreak when he ghosted her.
in the alien metaphor, "waking up in blood" is the creepy aftermath of being experimented on by an alien. not knowing how you got there or what happened, all that's left is the sign something horrible was done to you.
