Oddly Specific Halloween Humor Starters
Send a symbol for a starter or drabble (feel free to specify which) about one of the following prompts. The placement of my/your is welcome to change!
👹One of our muses works at a Haunted House and the other is coming through with their friends and – whoops, they got so scared they fell down and oh shit now they’re bleeding
🎃Someone thought it would be a good idea to fit their head inside of a freshly-carved pumpkin, but needless to say, it was not their best decision.
😈Some kid really didn’t like their treats, and now our muses are spending all of November 1st trying to get the toilet paper out of the tree and hopefully not falling to their deaths on this wonky ladder.
👨🚒Our muses thought a seance on Halloween night would be fun, but instead of summoning a demon, all they got was a fire hazard from 50 lit candles on the living room carpet.
🎅While shopping for last minute Halloween decorations, one of our muses got so upset about the overwhelming amount of Christmas stuff on the shelves that they’ve been kicked out of the store for screaming.
🕸 In the midst of decorating the house, my muse has gotten tangled up the fake sticky webs and might just have to become part of the display if no one comes along and help them.
🌕Our muses are supposed to go out tonight but it’s a full moon and one of them is legitimately a werewolf. So it’s another night of closed blinds and scary movies.
🤡Our muses both want the same costume/prop, but there’s only one left in the store and less than 24 hours until the Halloween party.
🕷Your muse thought it would be a great idea to play a prank on mine with a plastic spider/bug/rat, not expecting that they’d get punched in the face mid-flail.
⛄It’s snowing on Halloween, it’s sNOwinG ON HAllowEEEEN
👻Our muses slip into the cemetery right before the gates close and – whoops, looks like they’re locked in for the night.
🦇One of our muses is non-human and all of their drunken mutual friends keep trying to get them to do spooky tricks for their entertainment, and damn does that get old real fast.
🐭Our muses want to dress up as a matching pair for Halloween, but can’t agree on whether to go the cute route or the spooky route.
🍬There was no good Halloween candy left at the store, so our muses have to choose between handing out mints that have been on the shelf for 40 years or just putting random shit in the kids’ bags.
🔮Our muses decide to see an obviously phony fortune teller just for fun, but turns out they said one of our muses will die in 24 hours and now that muse is inconsolable.
⚡One of our muses disregards all superstition or bad luck, but when lightning strikes and shuts off the power at midnight on Halloween night, it just seems a little too weird, you know?
💀Our muses decide to hang out in the cemetery on Halloween night, but somehow accidentally knock over a tombstone and could actually get arrested and/or cursed by the angry souls of the dead.

Eerie Atmospheric Settings: Plot Starters
Instead of a specific plot to work around, here’s a list of settings that all feature a melancholy, moody, or creepy atmosphere. Simply send me a symbol for a setting you want to RP in, and I’ll either make a starter or approach you to plot!
🌕A full moon night with wind whistling through the trees
🌊The seashore late at night, with lightning over the water in the distance
🏤Stepping into a house that gives off all the wrong vibes
🍁A cold day in late autumn, which is silent and deeply lonely
🎹Nighttime in an ancient house/manor, with the tinkling of piano keys from the next room
💧 Rain in the early morning, so dark that there’s hardly a sunrise
⛪A church right after a funeral, a small handful of people dressed in black hanging their heads in silence
🌳A maze-like forest at dusk, with a sense of anxiety as the sun disappears
⛵On the beach before dawn as remnants of a ship wreck wash onto shore
🍂A chilly, overcast autumn afternoon
🌃Midnight in a busy city, sirens blaring a few blocks away
🎃After dark on Halloween night after trick-or-treating ends
🚘Sitting with a popped tired on the side of a long stretch of road, waiting
⚡Distant thunder from a massive storm headed straight this way
🥀An overgrown garden of nothing but poisonous (or dead, dry) plants
🌾An eerie plot of farmland with seemingly no one around for miles
🐊Murky swampland with posted warnings to keep people away
🔥 A roaring bonfire in the distance on a pitch black night, with dark silhouettes crowded or dancing around it
🚧Standing near old, abandoned train tracks when the bell starts to ring
🐟Taking a swim on an uninhabited plot of beach, noticing ripples in the water
🌿An old-fashioned plantation with secretive locals and a bitter history
💀A cemetery full of dead, dry flowers as if all of the plots have been forgotten, some of the stones cracked or sinking into the dirt
🚇A dingy old subway station, walls chipped to pieces, while waiting for a ride home
🌈The sad silence after a violent storm, debris and wreckage everywhere
👗An attic full of musty clothes and antiques belonging to someone long-dead
❄ A snowstorm locking everyone in their homes, with electricity flickering
🍄An enchanting plot of forest or stream, tiny whispers cutting the silence
🌑Inside of a re-occurring nightmare had time and time again
☔Taking a long walk with an umbrella, struggling with a low, low mood
☕At a quiet cafe, but unfamiliar folk are whispering and staring
🌵A winding road through the desert with only one dingy hotel, its ‘vacancy’ light flickering red
💤Dreaming of scraping nails gainst the window glass, and waking to still hear it
🐕A quiet night, the only sound being the call of coyotes/wolves in the woods

“Aloy!” Erend bellowed.
She flinched slightly, then offered him a half-hearted smile as he pushed his way through the jubilant crowd to reach her. “Erend,” she said, with a small nod. “This is… a lot noisier than I thought it would be.”
“Yeah, it’s a blast, isn’t it?” he replied happily. He looked around at the mass of gossiping and dancing bodies that filled the palace ballroom, then beamed down at his redheaded friend. He was delighted to see her here; he’d laughed out loud when Avad mentioned that he’d invited Aloy to the Winter Sun-Call Festival. Erend hadn’t actually expected her to come.
“Say what you want about their politics and stuff, but the Carja really know how to throw a party,” he said.
“Hmm,” Aloy said noncommittally.
Erend sobered slightly as he studied her more attentively. “Is something wrong?” he asked. Her arms were folded confidently across her chest, and her chin was boldly lifted as it always was, but there was something distinctly hunted-looking about her expression.
She raised her eyebrows. “No. It’s fine,” she said. “It’s interesting.”
He studied her in puzzlement for a moment, and then it clicked. It was too noisy for her. Aloy was used to the quietude of travelling on her own. Of course a huge Carja celebration was overwhelming.
A wash of fondness brought a fresh smile to his lips. He’d been pepping himself up to ask her to dance, but her wariness made him think twice.
“Ah, the dancing’s overrated. But the food is something else,” he told her. “Have a seat, relax! I’ll bring you something.”

Drabble takes place immediately after Aloy kicks HADES’ ass.
The battle was won.
Erend couldn’t believe it.
Immediately he checked himself. Of course he could believe it; fire and spit, this was Aloy he was thinking about. He could believe anything when it came to Aloy.
Her hair was whipping in the wind like a victory banner as she gazed down at Meridian Village. Suddenly Erend was running towards her, oblivious to his myriad cuts and bruises. All he knew was that he wanted to be by her side.
She turned towards him with a little half-smile then took a nervous step back, and Erend realized that his arms were outstretched instinctively as though to grab her in an embrace. Awkwardly he stumbled to a halt and lowered his arms.
“You - you did it, Aloy. You did it!” He couldn’t help himself; he squeezed her shoulder, hoping she would take it as a congratulatory gesture instead of what it was: a mild, innocuous physical gesture of affection. By the forge, if she ever allowed him to show her how much he really, really...
Well. His arms weren’t nearly big or strong enough to express that. So he contented himself with squeezing her shoulder instead.
To his surprise, her face broke into a full smile, the corners of her hazel eyes crinkling with joy, and Erend couldn’t breathe; her smile was more brilliant than the rising sun and just as blinding.
“It’s okay, Erend,” she said. Then she tentatively held out her arms.
Erend’s heart skipped a beat. Then suddenly his arms were wrapped tightly around her waist, his face was buried in the flames of her hair, and her startled laugh was floating into his ears as he lifted her clear off her feet.
She wrapped her arms around his neck in a gentle hug, and Erend’s heart pounded wildly in his chest. He relished in the sound of his own pulse, like a drumbeat of pure joy that carried the sound of her laughter.
Her laughter. Aloy, the notoriously stern-faced Nora machine tamer, was laughing. Her arms were around his neck and his face was in her fragrant hair, and she was laughing.
And Erend had never been so damn happy in his life.
