just another fun thing i wanna list, everytime death looks "weirdly sad"/solemn in the movie and the context
(more under the cut just in case this got long)
"i laugh at death! ...bounty hunter!"
"...so i've heard..."
"everyone thinks they'd be the one to defeat me...but no one escapes me yet"
*puss' second attempt after he deflected the first one
"..lives flashing before your eyes?"
"...pick it up"
*now inbetween the first meeting till after the final fight death most of the time is more pissed/smug or intimidating (with sometimes looks surprised with some of puss' behavior changes in final fight). the more solemn look returns after the fight and realizing that puss really does have grown and changed
but also here's some cave of souls moment
*the "death straight up rant"
"THAT'S CHEATING!!"
"live your life, puss in boots..."
"you know we'll meet again...right?"
could there be some dots to connect from this? probably, probably not, but i think this can possibly hint a deeper layer of him that maybe didnt get time to be explored in the movie yet
