The 'yes' comes from my improvisational days and the opportunity that comes with youth, and the 'please' comes from the wisdom of knowing that agreeing to do something usually means you aren't doing it alone.

People help you time-travel. People work around you and next to you and the universe waits fro the perfect time to whisper in you ear 'look this way.' There is someone in your life right now who may end up being your enemy, your wife, or your boss. Lift up your head and you may notice.

It felt fun and alive and warm. Most days I was handed an amazing script that allowed me to stand in front of people I really loved and tell them how much I loved them. I got to work with the best writers and the best directors and the best producers...This kind of job is magic. It comes around once or twice in a lifetime if you're lucky. And thank god, because it's all-consuming and sometimes work should just be work.

The Parks and Recreation premiered on April 9, 2009. She played the role of Leslie Knope.
For this role she won a Golden Globe in 2014.
"But the thing I do remember clearly is a small scene I did in the pilot episode. It's raining and Leslie is standing and looking outside her office window. In voice-over, she speaks about how this park project is going to take a lot of work and last a long time, but it will be worth it."

"Comic actor, Saturday Night Live legend, and Parks and Recreationstar Amy Poehler's new book Yes Please is part tell-all memoir, and part-advice guide. It's also 100 per cent funny - a zig-zagging chronicle of her career, from her start in college improv groups to television and film stardom. The writing is imbued with the energy and charm that made her a star, and also offers some nuggets of wisdom from an acclaimed performer, writer, mother, and formerly one of Time magazine's most influential people in the world."
