today is a great day to think about how fucking observant carmy actually is, despite him also showing blatant obliviousness in other areas. he caught sydney give his chef’s jacket no more than a few seconds glance, and remembered. he held onto that, before buying her her very own customised thom browne version. we’re not even gna throw in the fact he was literally selling denims to afford stuff for the restaurant. what did he sacrifice to get sydney this? and i’m supposed to, what, be normal about them?

" a possible 𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗. in fact, there’s no real DOUBT that it is and while quiet voice is trying to tell him to calm down, it’s nowhere near as catastrophic as you’re letting yourself believe, it isn’t loud enough to be heard over the sound of his own blood pumping. jamie appears the very 𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐦 while carmy is the complete opposite, fingers drumming a nervous pattern against apron - covered chest before raising higher to pinch nose bridge. he’s outta his comfort zone here. no 𝚏𝚊𝚖𝚒𝚕𝚒𝚊𝚛 𝚜𝚞𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜, just like new york. at least in chicago he knows how to 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲 himself. that’s what growing up in the berzatto household taught him, but away from that, anxiety always creeps in. " i’m not great. i’m not fine. how am i supposed to tell rupert mannion half the opposing team, or whatever the term is, ate half the shit i cooked? "
