Since last year, Netflix has offered its subscribers access to free video games.
Apptopia’s data shows that all of these games have a combined daily audience of 1.7 million.
Meanwhile, there are hundreds of crappy mobile games that have twice that alone.
And while Netflix says it will double its current game library by the end of the year, with only one percent of subscribers playing these games, it’s hard not to wonder how long before the streamer decides its foray into gaming is too expensive and not worth it?
Remember, Netflix is currently facing a problem with keeping users.
Since the beginning of this year, the streamer has lost 1.2 million subscribers.

Thursdays are that magical time in the week when new free PC games become available on the Epic Games Store.
This week, it’s Unrailed, a co-op game about building train tracks through the unpredictable wilderness, with your friends.
You might get an order for a cheeseburger with mustard and ketchup, plus everything but the onions.
It gets frantic quickly, especially during the lunch and dinner rush periods – you’ll have to manage several orders at once, with several cooking and prep stations all active at the same time.

A new useful feature might soon come to YouTube.
At the moment, Pinch to zoom is only an experimental feature, but YouTube Premium subscribers can freely enroll in the testing through YouTube’s experimental features site and try it themselves.
However, they can only do so until September 1st.
After that, the Pinch to zoom test won’t be available.
If you regularly watch YouTube videos, you know there could be many instances where you would like to zoom in on a portion of the video.

Spotify is updating its app to address a long-standing user complaint with music playback — but it’s asking customers to pay for the fix.
This will replace the combined button available before, which had been inconsistent across platforms and frustrating to use.
However, streamers may be disappointed to find out that what should be an app update in favor of better usability is oddly being sold to them as a reason to upgrade to Spotify’s paid tier — the company says the new button is only being offered to Spotify Premium subscribers.
It was not the only complaint of this nature on the forum site.
Spotify has been working on this problem for awhile.
It first introduced the Shuffle/Play icon in 2020 to reduce streaming to just a click, it said, and last year made Play Button the default button on all albums for Spotify Premium users (at Adele’s request, as you may recall).

Spain reported its second monkeypox-related death as concerns grow about the spread of the disease.In a situation report published on Saturday, the country’s Ministry of Health said Spain had 4,298 confirmed cases of monkeypox as of July 29.
Of the cases where information is available, 3.2 percent of patients have been hospitalized and two have died, according to the ministry.
Spain reported its first death on Friday, and the second on Saturday.The most cases have been reported in Spain, followed by Germany, France, the Netherlands and Portugal.

Federal officials this week touted the arrival of hundreds of thousands of additional monkeypox vaccine doses, heralding it as a milestone in the nation's fight against the outbreak.
And with cases in the United States doubling every week or so, some health experts warn a shortfall of vaccines could threaten the nation's ability to contain the expanding outbreak and prevent the virus from becoming permanently entrenched - a concern that some federal officials privately concede.
"When you look mathematically at what the requirements are . . .
we're facing some tough sledding here," J. Stephen Morrison, director of the Global Health Policy Center at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said on a podcast Friday, adding that 3.2 million doses would be needed to fully cover the at-risk population of HIV-positive men and others targeted to receive vaccines by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Most experts believe that hundreds or thousands of cases likely remain undetected.

Audio player loading… Google has formally denied a rumor that its Stadia (opens in new tab) gaming service will soon be closed down, saying that it is still "working on bringing more great games to the platform."
"He also mentioned that all members would be informed 30-60 days before, and that the last month of service will be refunded and no charge for its usage.
But Stadia said on Twitter that it just isn't so.
Rest assured we're always working on bringing more great games to the platform and Stadia Pro.
That makes it official, and plenty of people who I have to assume are Stadia owners expressed their relief in the replies.

Considering how intertwined music discovery is with TikTok, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if the company launched a music streaming app of its own.
Well, patent filings uncovered by Insider suggest TikTok’s working on just that.
ByteDance already has experience with music streaming.
Resso has some of the same features described in the “TikTok Music” filing, such as the ability to create playlists, share songs on social media, and interact with the app’s community.
ByteDance even uses TikTok to bring existing users to Resso.
The Information also reports that Resso had over 40 million monthly users across India, Brazil, and Indonesia as of November 2021, a number that’s likely to grow.

Google Play is getting a new logo today to celebrate its 10-year anniversary.
Google has slightly tweaked the overall shape of its Google Play logo, but the most notable changes are the less vibrant colors that more closely match the green, yellow, blue, and red hues that Google uses for many of its other services.
It’s a subtle adjustment that also complements the new Chrome logo updated earlier this year.
The new logo and iconography also mark 10 years of Google Play after it was rebranded from the Android Market in 2012.
“A decade later, more than 2.5 billion people in over 190 countries use Google Play every month to discover apps, games and digital content,” says Lim. “
If you activate the points booster (the start dates vary by country) you’ll earn 10x points on purchases, including most in-app items.

Electronic Arts has revealed details about Apex Legends Season 14 ahead of its arrival next month.
Titled ‘Hunted’ and set to launch on August 9, it will introduce Apex Legend’s latest hero, Vantage, who’s primarily a ranged character with a sniper rifle.

In March, over two years’ worth of new Apex Legends content was reportedly leaked from a development build.

Ubisoft’s free-to-play sports title Roller Champions will soon conclude development, just months after launch, it’s claimed.
Game Overview Trailer | Roller Champions The game has received several seasons of content following its launch, and according to Ubisoft’s recent financial call, is tracking better than Hyper Scape, Ubisoft’s now-cancelled battle royale.
However, this reportedly hasn’t translated into much popularity.
The game launched in open beta form in July 2020.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was also delayed.
Previously set to be released in calendar 2022, it will now arrive during the company’s fiscal year beginning in April 2023.

Apex Legends’ 13th season is set to end soon, and Respawn seems to have accidentally leaked what’s in store for next season.
For a brief moment last night, the game’s news tab featured a promo for a new legend, Vantage, that advertised a new Stories from the Outlands, while also seemingly revealing Vantage’s release date of August 9.
However, as is often the case with leaks, players were quick to take snapshots of it and share them online.
Vantage is a character that the Apex community has known about for quite some time.
Her existence was initially leaked earlier this year in March, and over the past week, Respawn teased her upcoming inclusion by posting entries from her diary on Twitter.
In the mobile realm, Apex Legends Mobile received a new mobile-exclusive Legend, Rhapsody, earlier this month.

Apple Arcade, Apple’s $5 per month subscription service for games, will be losing 15 titles sometime soon.
Games have left Apple Arcade before, according to TouchArcade, but this is apparently the first time Apple has spelled out which titles will be going away.
Apple didn’t immediately reply to a request for comment.
As of this writing, here’s the list of games that will be leaving: Atone: Heart of the Elder Tree BattleSky Brigade: Harpooner Cardpocalypse Dead End Job Don’t Bug Me!
If you’ve been wanting to check out the titles that are going away, you might want to start playing them sooner than later.
