Photo by @BrianSkerry. A Beluga Whale poses for his portrait in the chilly waters of the Nova Scotia. These animals have tremendous capacity to mimic sounds they hear from outboard engines to humans talking. Beluga whales have recently been categorized as ‘near threatened,’ due to aggressive hunting by humans and exposure to harmful anthropogenic pollutants over the past several years. Look for new posts to learn more about whales and other marine wildlife. @thephotosociety @natgeocreative #beluga #whales #white #babybeluga #climatechange #pollution #photooftheday #natgeo #conservation
