Dear god okay so…. YEAH IM A BIG FAT LIAR A BIT FAT PHONY. My brain is all kinds of fucked up rn so I’ve done barely any work since the last time I posted. I’m so so sorry, I know it’s not a big deal but I hate not getting things done on time. Very soon I’ll have to make art for a fundraiser & after that I have an art collab with a friend, SO AFTER ALL THAT….. Question, do you have any tips for setting up a request blog? I had one a few years ago and wanna try making another!
SORRY FOR RESPONDING SO LATE, my brain has been doing things. I don’t know how helpful these might be but here are some things I thought of
- Keep a list/make post drafts for every request you get. Then you don’t have to go searching through your inbox trying to find something. Can also help keep track of how many requests there are
- Keep your req status & inbox number in both your pinned post & blog title (or just pinned). I find that a lot of the time people ask me if reqs are open when I already have the status in my title so yeah, keep it your pinned I guess
- Look for mods if need be. Sometimes doing a lot of edits can be kinda stressful & you get like edit block. So I’d probably recommend not doing it on your own unless you want to
- PROMO POSTS!!!!! Do it do it do it. Even if you’re just saying that your reqs are opening up again. I think casting a net & trying to hook in people works better than just setting up shop without notice
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help! The few editors I’ve talked to are really nice & usually want to help out wherever needed. It’s a nice community we got here so yeah don’t be afraid to reach out :]
- And I think lastly (cuz I’m running out of ideas & I’m not great at doing this) also don’t be too hard on yourself if you get stressed trying to finish edits. You can always just say ‘Hey I can’t do this right now, but come back whenever’ editing because less fun the more you pressure yourself so yeah, take breaks when you want em

Dear god I would love if my edits were commissioned…. ANYWAYS! I got no dang idea, I think I’ll try & reopen them next month. Maybe halfway through the month.
