Woe out the Storm (6) - Goo Goo Muck
Tumblr media
Wednesday Addams x female Reader
Summary: It took some time, but eventually you came to realize only Wednesday Addams could look at the raging storm of chaos and destruction and make a home out of it. Only she could listen to the cacophony of the roaring thunder and hear a melody.
Story warnings: Wednesday Addams, violence, slow burn
Story Masterlist / First part / Previous part
Word count: 6.2k
-Yeah, I’ll get you baby, with a little luck, ‘cause I’m a teenage tiger and a Goo Goo Muck-
This was not going to end well.
There was no way this was going to end well. What was Wednesday thinking?
So, you did what any reasonable raiju with your skills would do. You took out your, formerly Wednesday's, knife. "Where did you even get that board?" you asked as you watched Wednesday pin rather gruesome photos and other papers to it. Tierra Rica played for what felt like the third time. That was something you learned about Wednesday. She preferred repetition, whether it was her schedule, strict writing time, or playing the same song at least several times.
She just looked back and just slightly raised an eyebrow, as if silently asking you if you were seriously asking her that. Yeah, that was probably an unnecessary question now that you thought about it. It was also kind of worrying that you were wondering how she got that board instead of all those photos... Perhaps you were too used to Wednesday Addams being Wednesday Addams.
Enid on the other hand... You weren't entirely sure she could stomach what was in the photos. Or that she was in the mood to even try to understand the need for this approach.
Speaking of said werewolf, she just entered your room. Ever since Ajax stood her up her entire demeanor lost some of her bouncy energy and it took a lot of pleading from her to stop you and Wednesday from taking revenge on the gorgon. She was so down you didn't even mention Wednesday agreeing to go to the Rave'N with you.
"Hey, Y/N, Wednesday," she stopped for a moment, taking in the sight of you and Wednesday. Seeing Wednesday with the board and papers wasn't much of a surprise. Neither was seeing you hunched forward and sitting on your chair. No, it was the fact that your chair was on Wednesday's part of the room, the fact that you were sitting a few feet behind Wednesday, watching whatever she was pinning to the board. And there was a knife in your hand, coincidentally, it was the knife Wednesday threw at you. Not that Enid knew that part, but she did know the knife belonged to Wednesday.
You could see cogs turning in Enid's head. "Am I interrupting you?" she asked, now carefully observing Wednesday for any reaction that might seem out of the ordinary.
"No," but Wednesday was so focused on her task you doubted she even noticed Enid's reaction. Frankly, you thought Wednesday's laser focus was admirable.
Admirable. Not adorable.
She'd probably smother you in your sleep if you ever used that word to describe her.
"Wednesday is just pinning photos of the monster's victims so she can get inside its head," you said causing Enid's jaw to drop slightly.
Enid covered her mouth in shock. "The actual photos?" she gulped, her claws coming out instinctively.
She was taking it even worse than you thought she would, so you jumped to your feet and rushed toward her. On foot, since lightning would likely startle her.
The damage was already done. "I don't see how any other photos would help," Wednesday, still focused on her task, either ignored or didn't notice the evident panic in Enid's voice.
Your eyes widened when you saw Enid falling to the side and in a lightning-enhanced jump, you managed to reach her and catch her before she could fall to the floor. "Wednesday," you sighed, exasperated by her lack of consideration.
For the first time since she began pinning the files and photos, Wednesday took her eyes off the evidence and glanced at you and Enid in your arms. Her eyes followed you as you lifted the werewolf up and carried her to her bed. "Perhaps you could zap her awake?"
You nearly dropped Enid as you stumbled a bit at the suggestion. You opened your mouth several times, honestly not even sure how to respond to that idea. "No?" you eventually settled for an incredulous response as you just looked Wednesday in the eyes.
Wednesday kept staring into your eyes, refusing to be the first one to look away, or even blink. And you weren't backing down either, even if you did have to blink. "Pity. Thing, fetch the smelling salts," she ordered and the hand was on his way to wherever Wednesday kept those.
You looked away, but only so you could follow Thing with your eyes. He was clutching the smelling salts in question between his middle and ring finger and his palm while running toward you on the remaining three fingers. You took a few steps forward and leaned down, letting him climb onto your palm. With a thankful smile on your face, you took the smelling salts and proceeded to wake Enid up with them.
It took a bit, but she regained consciousness and looked around, still a bit disoriented. "Y/N?"
"Welcome back," you grinned and stepped back as you placed Thing on your shoulder and the smelling salts in your pocket.
"I had this nightmare. Something about Wednesday bringing photos of the monster's victims to our room," she groaned and rubbed her eyes.
"Uh," you glanced back at Wednesday, her back was turned to you, but you could swear you noticed a bit of extra stiffness in her posture. If that was even possible.
"What?" Enid demanded, looking at you and then following your line of sight. "It wasn't a dream. Yeah. Sure. That might as well happen," Enid nodded as she sat up. She stood up and went right for the cause of the newest room decorations. "You know, when I suggested giving your part of the room a make-over, I did not have Ted Bundy's Pinterest in mind."
Wednesday turned around to look at her. "Still not as creepy as your stuffed unicorn collection," she turned back to the board once again.
"Is this why she and Thing snuck out last night?" Enid asked you when you walked over to her, ready to catch her if needed.
"Yup. To the county morgue actually," you caught her up to speed with Wednesday's recent adventure.
Enid's face showed clear disgust at the mere thought of Wednesday's activities. "Okay, there are so many levels of ew in this whole situation I don't even know where to begin."
"I need to get inside its head. Discover any patterns or anomalies," Wednesday turned toward you and Enid. "I've already made a big discovery," she began taking the photos off the board. "Turns out, all of the monster's victims have had body parts surgically removed," she began handing the photos to you. "The first one a kidney, the second a finger,"
Enid paled as she saw the photos up close. "Wednesday, I don't... really feel..." she was going to pass out again any moment now.
"Third a gallblader," Wednesday, however, went back to the board for the final photo. "And the bearded man from the meeting house, two toes," she placed the last photo on top of the other three in your hands and looked at both you and Enid. "Do you understand what this means? These murders aren't mindless," she went back to the board. "He's collecting trophies like a seasoned serial killer. It's quite impressive, actually."
And Enid passed out.
You managed to catch her once again and sighed. Wednesday turned around, looking at Enid, and clearly not impressed this happened again. Thing, who in the meantime climbed back onto the board just shrugged when she glanced back at him. You offered the photos back to Wednesday and lifted Enid up once again. "Hold that thought for a minute," you said and carried Enid back to her bed. Luckily you didn't put the smelling salts back so waking Enid up wasn't too difficult.
"I'm just going to ignore you two," she resigned to the current circumstances. At least for now. "I'll go to sleep and by the time I wake up that won't be here."
You couldn't help but grin at that as you tucked her in and made sure she was comfortable. You moved back from the bed to see Wednesday watching you like a hawk, she was probably impatient since you did take more than a minute to get back to her. "So," instead of sitting back down on the chair behind Wednesday you stopped right in front of Wednesday. A more logical part of your brain told you you were too close, that you were in her personal space, but you couldn't back down, not unless you managed to catch any hints of Wednesday being uncomfortable with the closeness. "Body parts were surgically removed, right?"
She nodded, her eyes never looking away from your own.
"That monster looked too, I dunno, clumsy, to remove anything surgically," you muttered, looking away from her and looking at the photos pinned to the board over her shoulder. From the corner of your eye, you noticed Wednesday turning around on the spot.
"The monster's hands didn't look like they could hold a saw, or make cuts as precise as these," Wednesday pointed out, her focus once again shifting to the case.
"A lot of outcasts can change shape in some way. Maybe it's a human," you guessed, the body parts that were removed... well, you weren't exactly knowledgable about all that, but you figured at least some of them required a good understanding of human anatomy.
"That would explain why it wasn't caught," Wednesday nodded, glancing back at you. "Do you know any outcast group that can look like that?"
You thought about it. You've been thinking about it ever since you saw that monster. It definitely wasn't a werewolf or a raiju, but other than that you were stuck. "I really don't have any idea. It's not a werewolf, it's not a raiju, it's some beast, but that's as far as my knowledge goes," which really didn't help either of you. "Do you think it works alone?"
That got Wednesday thinking. "I haven't considered that possibility," she admitted and glanced at Enid. "I should move this somewhere else?"
Your heart skipped a beat at that. She really did care, somewhere deep down. "I'd be really thankful if you did. So would Enid. I'd also rather not carry her that often," you admitted. "You can keep it in my shed?" you offered.
Wednesday shook her head slightly. "Too many electric devices. I'll find another place for it," she declined your offer. She did have an aversion to technology and you loved tinkering with it, the more reliant on electricity it was, the better. Still, you understood why she didn't want to spend time there. She didn't even consider your club because of that.
You didn't say you could clear some of the shed out if she couldn't find any other place for her board. "Got it," you muttered, finally stepping away from her.
~X~
Wednesday's day was not going as planned. In fact, it was going wrong in every way possible. The scratches on Xavier's neck made her suspicious, so she followed him. That part was fine. Discovering that his art depicted the monster was great. Now she had a suspect in her investigation and she was satisfied with the progress she made.
She supposed she used up all of her luck for the day. The next thing she knew, she was asking Xavier to the dance as an act of self-preservation. Usually, she would feel good about getting up close and personal with a potential serial killer, but there was an unpleasant feeling of unease that followed. She'd usually enjoy it, but somehow that unease being connected to you made it less enjoyable. She was yet to tell you to find someone else to go to the dance with. She wasn't entirely sure how to, either.
So, that's why she was standing right behind the tape dividing her and Enid's part of the room. Perhaps Enid, due to knowing you much longer than Wednesday, could offer a way to tell you. That wasn't her usual blunt approach. Thing already made sure to talk her out of telling you like that.
"I am going to Rave'N with Xavier," she opened with that, but before she could continue and explain her issue Enid was on her feet and, in a way that was sickeningly filled with excitement, rushed toward Wednesday.
She even squealed. "Oh my God! Wednesday Addams is going to the Rave'N?! My whole world is tilted!"
"That's not-" Wednesday tried, she really did, but Enid was too excited to listen.
"You know what you need now?" Enid interrupted her.
This was not going how Wednesday wanted it to go. "A bullet to the head," might be a solution to the problem. Her own or Xavier's head, either way, the problem would be solved.
"A dress!"
"I already have one," she didn't need one. Not for a dance with Xavier.
"Not the one you came here in! That's a fashion emergency not even Y/N could resuscitate! Thing back me up!" Enid turned to Thing for support.
Thing, the traitor, agreed with a thumbs up. Though Wednesday had to admit Enid replacing lightning with your name felt fitting.
And then Thing pointed at the doors.
"What can't I resuscitate?" and just when Wednesday thought things could not get worse, you walked in. She didn't even notice the doors opening.
"Wednesday's dress! She needs a new one for Rave'N!" Enid moved on to you, luckily not saying anything about who Wednesday was going with.
The situation could still be salvaged and put under control. Even when you just grinned cheekily at Wednesday and went over to your part of the room.
"She's going with Xavier! I'm so excited!" Enid blurted out.
Telling you bluntly the way she intended right after she was forced to ask Xavier would have been better. Wednesday furrowed her brows, looking away from your frozen form. She noticed Thing flinching, likely due to the way you got the news.
"Xavier?" you finally repeated, the tone of your voice flat and without any clue for Wednesday to try and decipher how you felt.
"Yes!" Enid exclaimed as she clasped her hands together. "You're going with us as well! It'll be our first roomie shopping spree!"
Your eyes narrowed at that. "Not in the mood," you bit out, and even as emotionally unaware as Wednesday was, she could understand you were annoyed.
Especially when you went and closed the sliding doors that divided your part of the room from her own. You never did that. Not until today.
"What just happened?" Enid asked, her enthusiasm clearly disappearing. And then her eyes widened as if she realized something. "That can't be right though," she muttered as she looked from the closed doors to Wednesday then back to the doors.
"What?" Wednesday asked, feeling slightly irritated. Enid figured something out and Wednesday wasn't sure what.
Enid frowned for a moment. "No, it's not important right now. You need a new dress," she paused for a moment. "Y/N will be fine, just give her a bit of space."
Wednesday wasn't about to show weakness and argue with that. This was as bad as the day could get, right?
~X~
She should have known not to underestimate the bad luck that followed her.
Not only did Galpin refuse to share information with her, now she had to deal with Tyler looking dejected over her going with Xavier.
"I'm not sure why you're becoming upset," she really didn't understand. She understood why you were upset. She accepted your invitation and then asked Xavier to go with her. She broke the deal.
"That's kind of the problem. I mean, call me crazy, Wednesday, but you keep giving me these signals," his statement confused her.
She met Tyler, she asked him to take her to the station, she went to get her coffee at Weathervane a couple of times. She didn't understand what signals he was talking about. "It's not my fault I can't interpret your emotional Morse code."
"Then let me spell it out for you. I thought we liked each other. But then you pull something like this and I have no idea where I stand," he kept talking but she focused on those words. On not having any idea where he stood...
Wednesday frowned slightly. Was that how you felt? After she 'pulled something like asking Xavier to the dance'? Was that why you closed the doors, and needed some space? Because you didn't know where you stood with Wednesday?
If Tyler was being delusional about her 'signals' as he called them, she supposed she gave you some signals. That talk about Sartre... the knife she allowed you to keep... the unpleasant feeling she had when you didn't even say anything to her about the situation with Xavier.
"You could at least clear that up," Tyler interrupted her thoughts, but she had more important issues to deal with. The case, Rowan's warning, all of that was more important than what Tyler or you felt. She needed to prioritize and she'd do just that.
~X~
You guessed you could admit you were sulking and that you could and should have been at least a bit more mature about your reaction to Wednesday going to the Rave'N with Xavier. You were just a bit too proud to admit it out loud.
Maybe it was a raiju thing. Avoiding the problem until it would solve itself. Just like waiting for a storm to pass. Or maybe you just got that from your dad. Either option worked.
Your sliding doors opened, but you didn't turn around, you just kept lying in your bed. Enid was probably back from the shopping spree. The sound of the footsteps didn't match her, though, so you looked back and saw Wednesday.
"I'm not going with Xavier because I want to. It was an act of self-preservation," she said as you sat up.
All of this looked a lot like how you were a few nights ago. With her in your part of the room, you sitting on your bed, only this time there was a tension you despised. "I'm not even going to ask you how that happened," you probably should have. You should have asked what she meant by that, you didn't. Maybe if you did things would have been different.
"You're still upset," she stated and you nearly laughed at that.
You scoffed, looking to the side. "Why couldn't you just tell me yourself? You are going with Xavier, sure, that's your choice, but at least have the guts to tell me," you didn't know if she liked Xavier, or if she really had no choice but to ask, but that wasn't the issue. If Wednesday didn't feel like going with you, she was free to not go, no questions asked. You just wanted to hear it from her instead of Enid.
"I-" Wednesday began but then stopped herself.
The pause, and the slight uncertainty in her voice made you look at her. Something in her eyes made you question everything, that hint of vulnerability, the hint of her not being comfortable that you were looking for when you stepped right in front of her. It was there now. You have never seen Wednesday's eyes showing this much, leaving so much of what she was feeling out in the open. And it made you feel unsure. The idea of Wednesday Addams actually, probably unknowingly, leaving her emotions open for you to see, was scary.
It wasn't like her.
Whatever she was going to say, she changed her mind. "Excuses don't matter," she turned around and went back to her part of the room.
You just let out a long, frustrated, sigh and fell back onto your bed. This just made things worse between the two of you.
~X~
Prioritizing the case instead of her feelings turned out to be the right move. She found the monster's cave thanks to Eugene, she found its claw, and she got Xavier's blood sample. She even managed to get out of going to the dance with him, though that was unintentional.
Everything was just fine. Even if she did look at your part of the room as she got ready to stake out the cave with Eugene. It was empty. You went somewhere. Likely to your shed. On her way to Rave'N Enid mentioned you liked to be there when you needed space.
Thing jumped on her shoulder and she knew exactly what he wanted. "Not. One. Word," she warned, her voice dangerously low.
But he didn't listen. He told her to postpone staking out the cave and to go to the dance.
"I already made plans with Eugene. Besides, what's the point of going to that stupid dance?" you wouldn't be there, even if you were you'd be there with another date. She didn't need to go there just to see that.
But Thing was persistent. Telling her to go to the dance with you.
"How am I supposed to do that?" you barely talked to her, she had no way of getting you to go with her, besides, she was out of time. The dance was about to start.
Thing's next statement made her cold, dead heart skip a beat.
"You told Y/N what? How could you do that to me?!" he smartly jumped off her shoulder as she went to grab her dress. He actually told you, well wrote you a note, to come and pick Wednesday up so the two of you could go to the Rave'N. She already messed up when she didn't tell you about going with Xavier right away, she didn't want to mess up again. She wanted to take you to see the cave, and she wanted to tell you about Xavier being her suspect.
Thing snapped his fingers, getting her attention. And then she saw the dress from Uriah's Heap.
~X~
You opened the doors to your room and stepped inside. "Thing, you really shouldn't write notes and pretend Wed-" your breath hitched as you took in a sight you doubted you'd ever forget. Wednesday was putting her hair up, already dressed in a black dress that fit her like it was made for her. You were completely aware that you were staring at her, and that your jaw dropped.
Finally, Wednesday glanced at you. The intensity in her gaze, combined with how she looked, nearly made your knees buckle.
"You," you tried to speak, even though your throat was suddenly as dry as a desert.
"Look ridiculous?" she suggested.
You chuckled at that, shaking your head. "No, you look like you, just more regal," you took a deep breath and exhaled loudly. "I guess this is what being struck by lightning feels like," you swore you saw Wednesday's mouth twitch into the briefest, subtlest smile you have ever seen.
"Will you," she paused, swallowing hard and looking anywhere but at you. "Would you- don't make me ask," she said, her voice softer than what you were used to.
You smiled, stepping closer to her. Now, with a few feet between you you took in her appearance once again. The way her hair framed her face, the make-up she had on, complete with that dark lipstick, and the dress. Damn, that dress... "Will you go to the dance with me?" you asked, and your heart skipped a beat when she nodded.
"I will," she said.
You nodded at that and hurried over to find anything that would match Wednesday. The rushed search resulted in an all-black combination. Suit pants and a button-up shirt. As you rolled up your sleeves you couldn't help but feel like something was missing. And then Thing brought exactly what you were missing. A light gray tie to disrupt the all-black combo. Considering the limited options and available time you figured it would do. And judging by Wednesday you were right.
She wasn't exactly staring when you put the tie on, but she didn't look like she disapproved either.
~X~
The moment you came down the stairs you saw Galpin there, for whatever reason he managed to come as someone's date. However, that date was nowhere to be found at the moment.
Tyler's mouth fell open at the sight of Wednesday. "Wednesday! You look beautiful!" he approached the two of you. "Look, I'm sorry about my reaction, but I'm here now and since you're not with Xavier, maybe you'd like to join me?"
The audacity of this guy. You felt a couple of sparks surrounding your clenched fist, but you chose to control yourself.
"I'm with Y/N," Wednesday immediately shut his idea down, and you felt your lightning settling down.
Tyler blushed, clearly embarrassed. "Shit, sorry. I just thought since you said you were going with Xavier you two came as friends. I'll, uh, I'll leave you two to it," he backed away the moment he said that.
Maybe he wasn't that bad after all... He just had a massive crush on Wednesday and you really couldn't blame him for that.
"Wednesday? Y/N? What is going on?" just when you thought you could go inside Eugene came up to you two.
"Hey, Bee boss," you greeted him. He looked like he was going on a trip, with a backpack and full gear ready.
"Eugene," Wednesday seemed a bit uncomfortable all of a sudden and you had a nagging feeling she changed her mind at the very last moment tonight. "There's been a change of plans. We'll stake out the cave tomorrow night."
What?
"I understand. I'll go check out the woods alone," he looked a lot like you did when you heard Wednesday was going to the dance with Xavier. Dejected, disappointed...
"Don't go alone," Wednesday ordered firmly. "It's dangerous, we'll go together tomorrow," she didn't let him reply and turned around to leave.
You looked between her and Eugene and just went after her. "A cave? Just how much did I miss?" you asked.
"We found a cave in the woods. It's the monster's lair," she explained quickly.
"I'm going with you two tomorrow," you decided, leaving no space for arguments. The look in her eyes showed you she appreciated that. Maybe she missed having you around? No, that definitely wasn't it. Your lightning was just useful at times.
Pop music played loudly as you stepped inside, to smoke and icy aesthetic and a statue of a Yeti behind the DJ. Climate crisis meets extinction event or whatever Thornhill said. Speaking of Thornhill, she approached the two of you right away.
"Wednesday Addams! And Y/N L/N! What a lovely surprise!" she greeted you.
You pretended to fix your sleeves, not really sure how to talk with the woman outside the classroom. And then you noticed Enid. With Lucas? "Would you look at that, Wednesday I think Enid is calling us!" if you were allowed you would have zapped away, but Weems would have your head if you pulled something like that.
Luckily, Enid noticed you as well, and the three of you met by the drinks.
"Oh my God! I'm so happy you two are here together! And I love the look!" Enid grinned excitedly, she was definitely going to tease you about this sooner or later. Knowing her it would probably be the moment you went back to the dorm. "I don't know how it happened, but I'm glad things worked out."
Wednesday glanced at Lucas. "Interesting choice of a date," she pointed out.
"You can say that again," you agreed.
"It's not what it looks like. Lucas is trying to make his ex jealous and I'm trying to make Ajax jealous," Enid explained as Lucas approached you carefully, with his arms raised in surrender.
"Wednesday, Y/N, I come in peace," he said right away.
"Too bad. I brought my pocket mace. The medieval kind," Wednesday replied.
You raised your hands. "I promise I won't electrocute you this time."
Lucas nodded at that. "Thank you."
The curious look on Wednesday's face told you you should probably explain. "How about we step outside for a moment?" you suggested and luckily she didn't mind that idea.
You took her to a slightly secluded spot with a bench you could sit on. "You've been hearing about me electrocuting people every now and then, right?"
She nodded. "I admit I am curious."
"It's not my proudest moment, but last year, on the Outreach day, Tyler, Lucas, and two other normies, the ones that follow Lucas around, attacked Xavier and destroyed his mural. I just got pissed and electrocuted them," you knew it wasn't right, you regretted not having more control over yourself. Fighting them on fair terms? That was fine. Electrocuting them wasn't...
"I didn't realize you and Xavier were close," Wednesday pointed out.
You shook your head. "We really aren't. I just... I guess I can't stand back while someone is getting beaten up and bullied," it just didn't feel right to stand and watch that.
"You did what you felt was right. Besides, do you really think I'd judge you over something like that?" Wednesday asked, a slightly sinister smile forming on her lips.
You laughed at that. "No, I didn't. I just don't like talking about that. So, electrocuting past aside, may I have this dance?" you didn't offer her your hand, unsure if that was something she'd want, but you did stand up. And Wednesday stood up as well, nodding at you.
~X~
The music started and you watched for any change in Wednesday, but her expression remained the same, stoic and serious. However, she was looking at you with intensity you hadn't seen before.
-Well, when the sun goes down and the moon comes up-
Much to your surprise Wednesday began shuffling a bit, mostly moving her shoulders and upper body.
-I turn into a teenage Goo Goo Muck-
Out of nowhere, she lifted her left arm up above her head and leaned sideways, before straightening her posture by bringing her right arm up. Before you could fully realize what was happening she dropped her arms, turned around, and walked away from you.
-Yeah, I cruise through the city and I roam the streets Looking for something that is nice to eat, mmm-
She got into the rhythm, turned to her left so she was looking at you from the side, raising one arm at a time as her body moved in precise, though seemingly jerky, motions. She was lifting her head up, baring her neck, kicking her leg up, all the while maintaining eye contact with you. And then she stopped, turned to face you, and raised her arms to a shoulder level as she shuffled to the side, her head and arms going left and right to the rhythm of the beat.
-You better duck When I show up The Goo Goo Muck-
She bent down in an instant and you closed your eyes smirking when she tapped your shoulder with her finger. By the third time she tapped your shoulder you released the lightning, ignoring the way other students backed away from the two of you.
The intensity in Wednesday's gaze only increased when you, with sparks circling your body began getting in tune with her rhythm. As she began stepping away from you, you mirrored her actions, and as she moved to her left, so did you, effectively starting what could have been a deadly dance if it wasn't you and Wednesday. As Wednesday stopped you raised your arms up, bent your knees a bit, and brought them back down, releasing harmless lightning in Wednesday's direction.
-I'm the night headhunter looking for some head-
She moved her arms forward, and you couldn't tell if she was trying to bring the lightning closer to her or disperse it.
-With a way-out body underneath that head-
In movements that were only shaky in appearance, she brought her arms to her head, pretending to clutch it as lightning danced around her. She dropped her arms down, moving them from side to side as she looked up, her eyes just for a moment taking the lightning that surrounded her in.
And you, for the first time since you met Wednesday, found yourself truly mesmerized by her. Right there, with your lightning around her body, as she danced, you even dared to admit Enid was right. You may actually have a crush on Wednesday.
-Yeah, I'll get you, baby, with a little luck-
With your lightning still moving to her whim, she walked past you, baring the side of her neck when she was right next to you. You took that as a challenge, sliding after her, you glided across the floor, circling her and leaving a trail of lightning following the path of your left foot.
-'Cause I'm a teenage tiger and a Goo Goo Muck-
She shuffled her foot in a frankly adorable way, not for a moment bothered by the lightning that now rose up above and around the two of you. She made a motion as if drumming and with a snap of your fingers you offered two make-shift lightning sticks for her to hold. As Wednesday took hold of them you stepped in front of her, raising your open palms and creating two balls of lightning for her to drum against. And she did, for a few moments, she did exactly that before tossing the sticks aside, dispersing them in the wall of lightning that encased the two of you.
-You better duck When I show up The Goo Goo Muck-
She ducked right in front of you, and then got up, lifting up her dress and then abruptly slowing down, halting all movement but steady movement of her shoulders. You took a few steps back, gently moving to the music as you lifted your hands up and quickly clapped twice by the side of your head, letting sparks out with each clap. Then you went to Wednesday's side and offered a hand to her.
-Yeah, the city is a jungle and I'm a beast-
Just as Wednesday made a choice to reach forward you pulled your hand back, smirking as lightning formed claw-like shapes at the tips of your fingers. You slipped behind her and without touching her moved one of your hands close to her neck. She raised her head up, just for a brief second looking right into your eyes as she turned around.
-I'm a teenage tiger looking for a feast-
She made clawing-like motions and you stepped back, dropping down to one knee with your arms spread widely and all the lightning gathering around your palms.
-Yeah, I want the most but I'll take the least-
You were shaping the lightning around your hands into two red balls of lightning. Wednesday, surprisingly got into your personal space, stepping sideways between your spread arms and rolling her shoulders as she looked down at you. With a grin on your face you rose back up.
-'Cause I'm a Goo Goo Muck tiger and a teenage beast-
With a lot of concentration, you made the two balls of lightning collide, clashing them against one another and forming the shape of a black dahlia. While still standing behind Wednesday you went and offered the lightning-made flower to her.
-You better duck When I show up The Goo Goo Muck-
Wednesday reached for the flower, tore off the petals, and accepted the remains. You didn't comment on how the tips of her fingers rested on top of your palm as she slowly settled her hand over yours.
-The Goo Goo Muck-
She leaned back, the material of her dress barely brushing against you, but that alone told you a lot, and now you truly had to admit Enid was right.
~X~
Wednesday never thought she'd think feeling as overwhelmed as she was right now would feel like this. The tingle your lightning caused, the way it was clear you made sure it couldn't hurt her while still causing a satisfying sensation, the way you responded to her. The way she leaned back, brushing against you. All of it was almost too much. Yet she didn't move away from you.
"Thanks," you muttered, and she didn't understand what you were thanking for, but somehow she leaned back a bit more, her fingers brushing against your hand.
And then she was no longer at the Rave'N. The monster was above her, pinning her down to the ground in the woods, she felt the claws digging into her, though still not piercing the flesh. And then the colors faded from the world around her, they became muted, less vibrant and she thought she would prefer to look at the world like that all the time. And orange lightning emerged, engulfing her, you... she realized.
When her vision ended she realized you were holding her up, her back pressed against you to avoid drawing much attention. Wednesday thought that, after how you danced, no one would notice her having a vision, they'd just think she willingly leaned back into you.
"Wednesday?" the concern in your voice made her feel sick.
"I'm fine," she said, but that image remained in her head. Goody told her to use a raiju. To use you. But could she do it if that was the outcome?
A/N: I have a newly found love-hate relationship with this damn dance! I love it, but I hated writing it! Glad that one is over with, please, don't make me go through this again.

My Sweet Cairo (Part 8)
Synopsis: The Ravens' Soccer team Captain fell in love for Cairo Sweet
Warning: Slight cursing, Emotions, Mention of death and SH.
Words: 2.4k
Masterlist | Previous Part | Next Part
A/N: I was so pumped while writing this. I enjoyed this part so much. We get to know what really happened and flesh out R's father's mind. We also saw Cairo being responsible and using the advices she received to get some help! Happy Reading!
Tumblr media
Y/N tried to avoid being alone the entire day, not wanting to give Cairo the opportunity to have even a minute to talk to her. What Cairo told her a few nights ago is still stuck in her head. She doesn't know if she should be afraid or what.
"Hey, Y/—"
"Will you walk me home?" Cairo cut Jasmine off as soon as Y/N got out of her last class of the day. She was not expecting Cairo to wait for her!
Y/N looked shocked and confused. She gave Jasmine a look. But her friend just stood by and watched the scene unfold. Traitor!
"Y/N, walk me home, please?" Cairo said, sweetly this time, with a smile on her face.
"Uhm, I'm sorry but I have—"
"Uh no, we're not going. I gotta study for a pop quiz tomorrow. Winnie's coming to help me, I'm sorry dude." Jasmine cut the taller girl off.
Y/N glared at her while Cairo smiled widely. "So?" Cairo asked cutely, for fuck's sake!
"Uhm, sure." Y/N said hesitantly.
"Great!" Cairo said happily before she held the taller girl's hand and pulled her.
Y/N didn't say a single word as she turned to Jasmine and gave her a look, mouthing "I'm killing you tomorrow, you traitor!"
On the way home, the two of them did not say a word. They went with Y/N's route instead of Cairo's since Y/N has her bike with her.
"I've talked to Mr. Miller." Cairo started, causing Y/N to stop for a moment.
"Why?" She asked before she followed Cairo again.
"I went to apologise." Cairo started, causing Y/N to furrow her brows. "I'm seeing a therapist now," Cairo said, glancing at Y/N who looked really confused, and cute. "Your mom referred me to a work colleague of hers. Told me it might help with the issues I had."
Y/N is confused, like really confused. "Mum did that? Why?"
Cairo shrugged. "We were together for a few hours before you came when we had dinner. She confronted me about what I did. Told me the same thing you said, how messed up it was. Then she told me about a friend of hers, a therapist, she told me I should check it out, see if it helps. That's why I went to Mr. Miller. I want to sort things out before graduation."
"What did Mr. Miller say?"
"We sat down, talked about what went wrong, what happened. He apologized to me too. He accepted the fact that he was in the wrong too, that he wasn't careful and clear, that he stepped the boundaries and led me on."
Well that's... incredibly surprising. Y/N never thought she'd be hearing a redemption arc between two messed up individuals. Although, she's happy to hear that Mr. Miller's finally seen what he did wrong. That's a huge point. And she's happy that Cairo's seeking out help.
"So, how long would you be going to therapy?" Y/N asked, glancing at Cairo who pursed her lips.
"I don't know. As long as I need, I guess. It's not really that bad." Cairo said, smiling at the thought that Y/N is finally talking to her with anger and resentment in her voice.
"How about when you go to college? You wouldn't know anyone around there."
"My therapist knows a friend where I'm going to go. She said she'd refer me to him and continue therapy there."
Y/N nodded. "That's a good thing."
Cairo looked up at her, a smile on her face, her dimples showing. "How long have you gone to therapy?"
Y/N pursed her lips. "A year and a half, I guess? My therapist told me she was proud of my progress so she adviced that I spend my time being a normal kid. She told me I should come to her whenever I need and so far, it's all good."
Cairo nodded. "That's good. I'm proud of you."
Y/N chuckled, lowering her head. "Alright, mum." She said, which made Cairo laugh as well.
They continued walking silently, comfortable silence this time until they reached Cairo's place.
"Here's you." Y/N said, stopping in front of Cairo's house.
The brunette turned to her and gave her a smile. "Thank you for walking me home."
Y/N nodded. "It's no biggie."
Cairo leaned up and gave her a kiss on the cheek before she walked inside the house, throwing a glance at the tall girl who waved at her.
When Y/N was sure Cairo's finally inside, she rode her bike and went home where she waited for her mum to come home to ask questions.
That night, when Y/M/N came home, she was immediately cornered by Y/N at dinner.
"I was wondering," Y/N started. "What were you talking about with Cairo before I got home that night?"
Y/M/N gave her a smile. "You, Mr. Miller, dad." The older woman answered shortly.
Y/N furrowed her brows. "You talked to her about dad?"
Y/M/N nodded. "Yes, I wanted her to know how terrible of a person she was for doing what she did. But then there's Mr. Miller."
"Who's not entirely at fault."
"But he was indeed the adult in the situation."
"You're defending Cairo, mum."
Y/M/N looked at her daughter, seeing the problem once and for all. "I'm not defending Cairo, what she did was wrong, yes. But don't you think what Mr. Miller did was far worse than that?"
Y/N stayed quiet, thinking.
"Honey, Mr. Miller's case is different from your dad's case. You have to see that." Y/M/N explained, Y/N is being blinded by what happened to her dad.
"I know. I know it's different."
"And?" Y/M/N tried to probe further.
"I'm not defending Mr. Miller either, mum. If that's what you think. Maybe I'm over compensating. Maybe I thought by helping Mr. Miller, I gave justice to what happened to dad. But what if I'm wrong, mum?"
"Are you? Look at it from an outside perspective, honey. Look at it both ways."
Y/N furrowed her brows. She doesn't know where to go from here. It's weird talking about this with her mum but at the same time, the answers are clearer. Her mind wasn't being blocked by her emotions, her father's connection to the case. If there's anyone to blame, it's the both of them, Cairo and Mr. Miller. There's no one to defend, no one to side with.
"There's always a connection, honey." Her mum brought her back to her senses. "But there's a huge difference and that's what I want you to see. Yes, Cairo was in the wrong for seducing Mr. Miller. But is it entirely her fault? Is it really? Why would she act that way if Mr. Miller didn't do anything wrong?"
"Was I wrong for helping Mr. Miller?" Y/N finally asked, looking at her mum with worried eyes.
Y/M/N gave her a smile as she held her hand, squeezing it to assure her. "You did what you thought was right at the time. You saved both of them by doing so. Don't beat yourself up for it."
Y/N stayed up that night thinking of what her mum had told her. She wasn't really thinking when she lent a hand to Mr. Miller. She knew it was wrong, she heard it from Mr. Miller himself. And yet, she still sided with him for what? For her father? No, she thought. It's for personal gain. She had the power to turn the story around, and she did. So what  does that say about her?
She's no different from those students she despises the most. Maybe even worse. Her thoughts are so incriminating, so powerful that she did not blink sleep that night.
So the next day when she got to class, she was noticeably tired. She looked like a walking zombie and anyone who sees her thought so too. Her friends and Cairo saw that too and they were worried.
"What happened to you?" Winnie asked over lunch when Y/N didn't even touch her food, she's usually a foodie.
Y/N gave her a tired look and shook her head. "I'm just tired."
"We can see that, dude. You have dark circles around your eyes." Jasmine said, as worried.
Y/N sighed. "Did you guys think I made the wrong decision? When I stood up for Mr. Miller?"
Winnie and Jasmine turned to one another, giving each other looks.
"I mean, what Cairo did was fucked up. She literally wrote a porn story between her and Mr. Miller." Jasmine said, as a matter of fact.
"However, I don't think Cairo's entirely at fault. I mean, she messed up but not entirely her fault." Winnie said, on the other hand.
Y/N groaned. "Maybe I should've just shut my mouth and let them do whatever to Mr. Miller."
"Hey, woah, hold up." Jasmine started, getting the attention of her friend. "You did what you thought was best, okay? Both of them fucked up, that's a fact. The other one stepped on the fine line, and the other one was led on. There's no winning in this situation."
"Whatever you did, you did it for them both. Struck two birds with one stone, as they say." Winnie said, holding Y/N's hand and squeezing it gently.
Y/N gave them a small smile and nodded. "Maybe I shouldn't really beat myself up with this one."
"Damn right, you shouldn't." Jasmine said, giving her an assuring smile.
After their class, she was already outside Cairo's last class, waiting for the girl to come out. When Cairo saw her, an immediate smile drew her face.
"What are you doing here? You should've gone home and got some sleep. Look at you." Cairo said, holding a gentle hand to Y/N's cheek to look at her face.
"Can I walk you home?" Y/N asked with a sheepish smile.
Cairo was shocked to say the least. She did not expect that. She was expecting Y/N to come around but not this fast. Still, she was happy about it.
"Sure." Cairo smiled, holding out a hand to Y/N to shake her head.
"That's reaching."
"Oh." Cairo said, a bit disappointed but she smiled it away.
"Come on."
The duo walked out of school together. They're all smiles and shit but still, Y/N cannot take her mind off her conversation with her mum. She might as well talk to Cairo now.
So when they got to Cairo's place, the brunette did not expect that Y/N would park her car on the fence and followed her to her front porch. The taller girl sat on the step and patted the space beside her.
"What's going on?" Cairo asked, sitting beside Y/N who gave her a smile.
The taller girl stayed quiet for a moment, contemplating. "I wanted to talk to you about what happened."
Cairo nodded. "What do you want to talk about?" She asked, wanting Y/N to start the conversation.
"I don't know. I just want to have clarity. I had a talk with my mum last night. It was a hard pill to swallow but, I guess it was needed."
""What happened to him? Your dad?" Cairo asked, glancing at Y/N who was looking at the trees ahead.
"My mum didn't tell you?" She asked, confused. She thought they spoke about her dad.
"Not all of it."
Y/N glanced at Cairo, contemplating if she should tell her about it or not. A part of her doesn't want to, because talking about it means relieving it and she hates that. She hates that she's going back to that time. But a huge part of her wants to let it all out, just throw it out there and forget about it all.
She chose the latter.
Y/N took a deep breath.
"I don't know when it started. My dad was really passionate about teaching. He was really good at what he did. He's a great father, you know? He was always present and attentive to my needs." Y/N started, smiling at the memory of her father in every soccer game, every recital, every academic competitions, everything. He was always there, always smiling and looking proud.
"One semester during sophomore year, he came home all happy and giddy, it wasn't unusual really. He was always happy and giddy. But this one's just different. He told us he had met this student in class, he thought she was brilliant." Y/N stopped for a moment, trying to calm herself down before she started crying and shouting.
Cairo noticed how hard it is for Y/N to continue so she held the taller girl's hand in her own and squeezed it. "You don't have to continue. I believe I got the gist of it."
Y/N shook her head and turned to Cairo with a pained smile. "I want to continue."
Cairo looked worried, but she nodded nonetheless. "Okay. But you can stop anytime." She gave out an assuring smile.
Y/N nodded, squeezing Cairo's hand gently. "He told mum and I all about this girl. We were amazed by her. So we told dad to bring her home one time so we could talk. He did. We had a barbeque one saturday, family's all there and she was there. I thought she was brilliant, she was so fascinating with all the things she knew. Little did we know, she would cause the biggest heart break to ever happen to us."
Y/N shook her head. "During the middle of the semester, my father started to act weird. He started getting drunk, not sleeping, he started being absent. One day he came home and told us he was let go of his job. My mum and I asked why, he never answered. The days after that, he became difficult. He would pick a fight with me and mum. He would get angry. He would get drunk, pass out on the couch. I slowly watched my father become a shell of what he used to be. He just stopped functioning."
Cairo could not help it anymore. She stood up and went in front of Y/N, hugging the girl in her arms tightly as she gently brushed Y/N's hair with her fingers, wanting the taller girl to know that she's there, that it's okay. Y/N leaned in Cairo's arms, sighing heavily.
"Then my mum knew about what happened. Turns out the girl orchestrated a plan for my dad to get fired. She invited my dad for coffee one time, asked a friend to take a couple of pictures that looked intimate. The school board didn't like it. Had an entire meeting about it. My dad tried to fight with all his might. Turns out when he started acting weird, that's when he was battling with those accusations. It took only 3 photos and one girl for my dad to lose everything. One day after I won a game, I showed my medal to my dad but he didn't say anything. Next thing I know, I was running to their room. Then I saw him, blood everywhere, his body unmoving. He was gone, Cairo."
This is the most Cairo has seen Y/N vulnerable. Now she understood perfectly why Y/N wanted to help Mr. Miller. What happened to her dad was unjust. So when told the school board that Cairo's accusations were baseless, this is what she meant. What happened to Y/N's father were baseless accusations.
So, she just stood there, holding Y/N in her arms, letting her let out all the frustrations and emotions she's bottled up the entire time.

Heh. What would Tara do if her scared lover (reader) ran to her because they found a bug in the room?
I don't think Tara's much help when it comes to bugs. They're probably going to be chaotic and stuff, that would be fun to write.

would Samantha carpenter be shocked if her lover (reader) is able to carry her bridal style without breaking a single sweat? (this is Sam we are talking about. Woman’s all muscle and sexy :P)
Maybe a bit, our woman's got taste bro! She wants someone who can protect her despite being able to protect herself. After everything that's happened with ghostface, she wants someone to be able to fight for her, preferably, an MMA fighter or! Someone who can fight.

My Sweet Cairo (Part 7)
Synopsis: The Ravens' Soccer team Captain fell in love for Cairo Sweet
Warning: Slight cursing, Anger rage. Other than that, none that I know of (but feel free to correct me)
Words: 2.1k
Masterlist | Previous Part | Next Part
A/N: I have no words for this one but still! I enjoyed writing it especially the Jasmine, Winnie, Reader trio! Happy Reader!
Tumblr media
Y/N was waiting outside of Winnie's class to go get their lunch when she was cornered by a short brunette who looked just about pissed to murder her.
"What were you doing with Winnie? Is she your girlfriend now?" Cairo asked aggressively, her body as close as it could get to Y/N.
The taller girl's eyes widened at the sudden aggression she was receiving but she composed herself immediately, walking back a little to give herself and Cairo some distance, afraid that the shorter girl would start swinging at her.
"Welcome back? Or not?" She started, still looking lost at what's happening. "Uhh... I don't see how it's your business what I do with my friends. But yeah, go off."
With the word "friends" Cairo felt a huge weight lifting off of her. "I saw you two all giggly and happy walking to your house. What was that?"
Y/N's brows furrowed, then a chuckle left her mouth. "Are you stalking us? That's some level shit creepy." She said sarcastically, shaking her head.
Cairo's face darkens as she walks closer to Y/N who looked at her with furrowed brows.
"You're mine, Y/N. And yes, I am selfish. So you better stop flirting with every able body you find." The way Cairo said it sent shivers down Y/N's spine, it was territorial, it was threatening, it was something.
The taller girl stared at Cairo, not knowing what to say or do when thankfully, Jasmine and Winnie called for her.
"Yow, Y/L/N! Bring your tall ass in here right now." She heard Jasmine shouting.
Y/N turned to them before looking at Cairo again, stepping back. "See you around." She told the brunette quietly before she ran to her friends.
As soon as she got to them, she let out the breath that she was holding, holding a hand to her chest to make it stop beating too hard. Cairo still has that effect on her, after everything
"What was that?" Winnie asked finally when they sat with their trays.
Y/N shook her head, still in daze. "I have no fucking idea, mate. But shit scared me." She admitted.
"Was she threatening you? What does she want?" Jasmine asked, as worried as Winnie.
"She uh— she told me that I'm hers and that I should stop flirting with every able body I find?"
Winnie and Jasmine turned to one another before they started laughing. Y/N groaned as she held her head.
"I told you, you should wear that shit like a fucking medal." Winnie teased again, making Y/N groan louder.
"Looks like you're gonna stay single until graduation if you want a smooth sailing semester." Jasmine said, playful pity in her voice as she patted Y/N's head.
The taller girl shook Jasmine's hand off her as she looked at her friends with pleading eyes.
"I don't want to leave this place a virgin, people." She whispered shouted at her friends, looking around after if there was someone listening.
Jasmine and Winnie laughed at her again.
"Well then, fuck her, superstar." Winnie suggested, and Jasmine nodded.
Y/N made a face. "That is incredibly disturbing," she started before leaning closer to her friends. "She kissed Mr. Miller, I don't want to kiss her knowing Mr. Miller's tongue was probably probing inside her mouth!"
That made the two laugh even harder that students started looking over to them. There at a table, two star athletes and a running honour student being messy. It's a fun sight to see for them.
After some time, Jasmine and Winnie finally calmed down, wiping the tears that started to fill their eyes from laughing. The look on Y/N's face was immaculate.
"Look," Winnie started, still composing herself and giggling. "For what it's worth, Cairo probably liked kissing you better than she did with Mr. Miller."
"And how would you know that?" Y/N challenged.
"Because superstar, I was with her the entire time she was gushing over how sweet and soft your lips were, how she wanted to kiss them over and over again, I literally almost gagged each time." Winnie said.
Y/N still shook her head despite feeling her heart jumping at that new found information.
"Even when she made out with you?" Y/N asked, turning the tables around causing Jasmine to look at Winnie with wide eyes.
"Oh, hold the fuck up!" Jasmine exclaimed, holding her hands up and looking bothered and shocked. "You made out with your friend's girlfriend. That's some messed up shit, bro."
"Not her fault." Y/N immediately defended Winnie.
Jasmine's brows furrowed even more, if that's even possible. "She made out with your girlfriend and you're okay with it? How messed up are you?!"
Y/N chuckled. "Cairo used her, don't blame her for being used." She said, turning to Winnie with a smile. "Although, I believe she might've loved it."
Winnie groaned as she threw a piece of tortilla in Y/N's face while the two star athlete's laughed at her frustrated look.
"But seriously though, what are you gonna do with her? I mean, there's like two more months away from graduation, there's prom and all that jazz." Jasmine asked, turning the conversation serious.
Y/N doesn't know what to do to be honest. She just wants this semester to end, graduate and then move to California. Everything about Cairo just makes it even more complicated now. But then again, why would she bother with Cairo? They're over.
"Nothing. I'll do nothing. I mean, what do you want me to do? She's the one who ruined what we had, not me." Y/N answered truthfully.
"With the way she's acting, I don't see her stopping until you two are together again. She's gonna do everything in her power to get you back, trust me. That girl will move heaven and earth just to bring you back to her." Winnie said, with conviction.
"That's just overreacting now." Jasmine said, a bit scared for her friend.
"No, she's not."
"No, I'm not."
Both Winnie and Y/N said, turning to Jasmine with a look. That just made Jasmine gulp.
"She's gonna be the death of you. For all I know, she's gonna follow you to California." Jasmine said, shaking her head.
Y/N groaned. "She'll hunt me down like a prey, won't she?" She turned to Winnie.
"You bet she will, and she's not gonna stop. Girlie's persistence, smart, and with money." Winnie said, holding a hand to Y/N's shoulder with a pity smile.
"Well, shit."
Y/N went home with Cairo still in her mind. She doesn't really know what to do or what to think of it. Sure, part of her probably still has some feelings for Cairo despite everything but that doesn't mean she still wants to stay with her. It's just so confusing at this point.
"Mum, I'm— what the fuck?" She was stopped on her track as soon as she saw the person peeking out from the dining area. "What are you doing here?"
The brunette girl smiled as she walked towards Y/N. "I was waiting for you outside hoping to talk to you but your mom came and she let me in. We're cooking something, come on." Cairo said, a smile on her face as she casually held Y/N's hand and pulled her towards the kitchen.
"Is that Y/N?" Y/M/N asked as she turned to see Cairo smiling and Y/N looking all confused.
"What is she doing here?" Y/N asked her mum, not caring if Cairo's present in the room.
Y/M/N gave her a look. "Be polite, she's a guest." She warned her daughter.
"No, she's not. She's leaving." Y/N said, causing Y/M/N to raise her brows at her daughter, she was not liking this attitude of Y/N.
"Tell that to the hand you're clasping, your fingers are intertwined." Y/M/N said, making Y/N pull her hand away from Cairo who pouted, she's enjoying watching Y/N get scolded. "Be a good host and help her fix the table, now."
There's no arguing in that tone of voice anymore and Y/N knows that. She may have a bad attitude towards Cairo but she will not fight with her over it.
Y/N sighed in defeat. "Yes, mum." She muttered before she walked past Cairo and started fixing the table.
"What are you doing here, Cairo? What do you want?" Y/N asked the brunette who was still smiling at her.
"I already told you, I wanted to talk to you."
Y/N turned to her with a pointed look.  "There's nothing more to talk about." She said before she turned back to fixing the table.
"Y/N, I just want to explain." Cairo said, walking towards the taller girl.
"Expla— I don't want to hear more lies and schemes from you, I'm done with you." Y/N whisper shouted, glancing over to the kitchen door to see if her mum was listening.
"I know you're mad, and you probably detest me," Cairo started but Y/N immediately jumped in as she fixed the utensils.
"That's an understatement."
Cairo sighed, walking closer to the tall girl. "I know you hate me. But at least let me redeem myself."
"You have no redeeming qualities, Cairo. Not in my eyes." Y/N spoke with venom in her voice as she walked back to the kitchen to check on her mum, leaving Cairo behind.
The brunette girl just watched her before she let out a sigh.
This is gonna be harder than it looks. Cairo thought.
When Y/N got back in the kitchen, her mother was already done cooking. She smiled as she helped her mother to put the food on the table, Cairo was already filling up the glass of water.
"Let's eat." Y/M/N told the two kids who sat on either side of her.
"So Cairo, how are you holding up? I heard what happened." Y/M/N started, looking at Cairo with some sort of gentleness, it's unsettling.
"Mum." Y/N called out but her mother gave her a look, something that said shut your mouth, I'm not talking to you.
The taller girl just sighs as she turns to Cairo who looks shocked and at the same time, worried. That's literally the woman whose husband killed himself because of a situation similar to hers yet so different.
"I'm... I'm trying my best." Cairo answered softly.
Y/M/N nodded, smiling at Cairo sweetly.
"A little rock in the journey won't hurt. You're gonna learn that the hard way but, you'll get by." Y/M/N told Cairo, giving her advice? Y/N is confused.
Cairo smiled, genuinely? What the fuck is happening here? Y/N does not know.
"Thank you." Cairo said, turning to Y/N with a smile.
"So," Y/M/N is not done yet. "What happened with you and this one?" She asked Cairo.
"Mother!" Y/N tried again but Y/M/N shot her a look to shut her up, AGAIN!
Cairo giggled at the mother-daughter interaction. She wished she had this closeness with her parents. Maybe she wouldn't have turned to this mess in the first place.
"We're... just in a rough patch right now. We're trying to fix it though." Cairo answered, smiling.
Y/N gave her a furrowed look.
Y/M/N smiled. "That's good. This kid can be a handful but you'll manage." She said, reaching a hand on Cairo's and patting it gently.
"Hold up! What is happening here?! Since when are you two best friends?!" Y/N asked, really confused at this now.
Y/M/N and Cairo looked at each other before letting out sweet laughter in Y/N's ears.
"Just eat your food, honey. Your face is turning red." Y/M/N teased, causing Y/N to roll her eyes.
"I'm gonna need you to tell me what you did to my mum." Y/N warned Cairo who's still looking at her with her sweet smile.
"Oh, now you want to talk?" Cairo asked, teasing.
Y/N groaned. "Yes! Because I want you to tell me what you did to my sweet mother!"
She's getting frustrated. But Cairo and Y/M/N's just laughing at her the entire dinner which made her even more frustrated, it's crazy.
After their dinner, Y/N immediately bid Y/M/N goodbye then pulled Cairo out of the house immediately. She doesn't know where they were going but she just kept pulling Cairo with her. They stopped near Cairo's house.
Y/N sighed heavily before turning to Cairo who's smiling? She's smiling!
"What the hell are you smiling at?" Y/N asked, a bit harsh.
Cairo pursed her lips. "Why are you all grumpy again?" She teased, giggling.
Y/N literally stared at her like she's a mad man. This girl is crazy.
"Will you stop? Stop trying to think that we're okay. We're not, Cairo!" Y/N said, turning serious again.
Cairo turned serious, sighing at how difficult Y/N is.
"I want to fix this. I want you, Y/N. Can't you see?" Cairo said, getting desperate.
"Oh, is that true? When did you think of that? Was it before or after you seduced Mr. Miller?" Y/N blurted out. She's getting tired of Cairo.
The brunette sighed. "It's true, okay? I did try to seduce Mr. Miller. But that was before I was sure of you. That was way before I felt what I felt for you. I love you, Y/N. And I'm gonna do whatever means necessary to show you that, until you're mine again. And mark my words, I'm not gonna stop until you're mine again."
Y/N just stood there. She doesn't know what to say, or what to do. She doesn't know if she should believe Cairo. It's just so hard. There are things at play here.
"I'll see you at school, thank your mom for letting me have that wonderful dinner with you." Cairo finally said, walking towards Y/N and giving her a kiss on the cheek before she left the girl standing there.
What the fuck what that? Y/N thought.

How mad would Tara get If reader has the power to shrink a person the size of an insect and used it on Sam?
Funny you should ask because Reader's whipped and Tara knows that so she's gonna use her charms and asked reader to shrink people especially when she's mad, we all know how it's gonna end for Samantha 🤷🏽‍♂️

I need to see Jenna play a psychotic calm villain, let's see how these critics think about that.
The actress has a large fan base, but her films are weak. I read reviews from critics and don’t understand why it is so popular

hmm i think an alternative could just be her seeing it for what it is and knowing it’s wrong on millers part OR if you want to be able to see the arc she could go home to her mom after she saw them and be very obviously upset as she was until her mom eventually gets her to open up and tells her that these things do happen and it’s different from what happened to her father (timeline is up to you just an example). or maybe r catches miller doing smth incriminating like reading the story like he was in the movie or walks in while he’s at cairos house so she knows that it’s not just cairo. as for what would happen to cairo and her use of those around her.. that could still happen but we could also see the remorse she has in the end esp seeing as r and winnie no longer hang out with her and maybe only hang out w each other ? just ideas! thanks for hearing me out
I'm gonna see what I can do, but in terms of the storyline, I'm gonna stick to it. However, after I finish the story, I'm gonna take you up for these ideas and make some alternative parts outside of the original storyline. So you're gonna have to skip the main storyline and wait for the alternative.

A/N: So there's this complaint about why R helped Mr. Miller. I want to explain that it's not about helping him per say, it's about the what could've been scenario in R's mind. As was stated a few parts ago, it's personal. Also, I was listening to Blindside the entire time I'm writing this. I think this is Cairo's song, or their song. Happy Reading!
Tumblr media
After the whole ordeal between Cairo and Mr. Miller, the school did release an announcement regarding the issue, telling everyone that the charges against Mr. Miller was dropped and untrue. They also informed the students and teachers about the inappropriate relations between them and that it is not acceptable and highly discouraged to engage in such relations.
So far, students hasn't said anything about Mr. Miller, just that they were saying how fucked up it must be for Cairo to be doing what she did to Mr. Miller. Poor man, she heard them say.
"How are you holding up?" Winnie asked when she saw Y/N sitting alone in Mr. Miller's classroom.
The taller girl turned to Winnie with a small smile. "I don't know. I guess I’m relieved that I made something possible."
Winnie sighed, holding a hand on Y/N's shoulder. "It was brave, you know, what you did. I heard you laid it out there, what happened to your dad."
Y/N gave out a pained smile. "It's the only way I know they would listen. Also the first time I've talked about it since it happened."
Winnie gave her a comforting smile as she patted her shoulder. Then they heard Y/N's phone ringing, Cairo's name popping out. Y/N stared at it for a while before flipping her phone over as she sighed.
"Has she tried to contact you?" Y/N asked Winnie who nodded.
"A couple of times."
"Did you talk to her?"
Winnie shook her head. "Don't have the guts to after what she did. Maybe in time, but not now."
Y/N understood her. Winnie's been with Cairo for what seemed like forever. They were inseparable. They were best friends and yet, Cairo still managed to do this to her. It was sad to see a beautiful friendship turn into dust just because of vengeance.
"Will you talk to her?" Winnie asked her.
She was quiet for a brief moment before shaking her head no. "I don't know if I can. Every time I see her, what happened to my dad keeps popping in my head. I don't want to remember it anymore."
"I understand." Winnie said, nodding. "But you can't run away from her forever. She's quite a persistent girl, if you hadn't noticed. She'll do everything in her power to get you to talk to her."
Y/N pursed her lips. "Did you know Mr. Miller was in love with her?" She asked, turning to Winnie who looked shocked. "I'm sure as hell she felt the same. That's why she acted that way, she knows what he felt but didn't pursue it."
"Y/N," Winnie called out but before she could continue, the bell rang so Y/N gave her a smile as she put her duffel bag on her shoulder.
"I'll see you around, Winnie." She bid the other girl goodbye before she walked out of the classroom and into her physics class.
Y/N was hanging out at home when she heard their doorbell ring. She was not expecting anyone at all. But she thought maybe Jasmine is here because she's board again. So when she opened their front door, she was shocked to see Cairo there, looking lost. Y/N's face immediately darken as soon as she saw Cairo.
"What are you doing here?" She asked, a bit harshly if she was asked but she doesn't care.
Cairo gave out a small smile, shaking her head. "I don't know."
"Go home, Cairo." Y/N said and was about to go back inside when she felt small hands holding her wrist, stopping her to move.
Y/N looked at their hands to which Cairo immediately pulled back. "Please, let me talk." Cairo said, her eyes misty with tears.
Y/N sighed as she walked back and closed the door behind her again. She looked at Cairo with a bored look as she stood in front of the shorter girl.
"What do you want?" Y/N finally asked, staring down at Cairo who fidgeted for a while before she took a deep breath and looked at Y/N's eyes.
"I want to say I'm sorry." She started but Y/N shook her head.
"No." Y/N told her coldly.
"Please." Cairo cried, her voice breaking and for some reason, it broke Y/N's heart into pieces to see Cairo this way.
"I know what I did was messed up. I know I hurt you, and Winnie, and Mr. Miller. I've been holed up at home, thinking of what I did. I— I messed up. And I'm really really sorry." Cairo's voice breaks, then turns to a whisper.
But Y/N cannot seem to hear what she was saying, it's like her brain doesn't want to listen, to process what Cairo was saying.
"You're selfish, Cairo. You only think about yourself, with no remorse, you do what you do to get what you want. You use people around you who genuinely care and love you. And then for what? For your own pleasure?"
Cairo just hung her head while Y/N berated her. This is the first time in her entire selfish life that she felt ashamed, she felt disgusted by herself. Y/N has a way with words that just stuck.
"And you know what hurts the most?" Y/N asked, her voice broke which got Cairo lifting her head to see the tears streaming down Y/N's eyes. And it broke her. "I really thought you liked me. I thought what you felt for me was real. And it fucking hurts to know that it's all part of you fucked up plan."
"But I did, Y/N, I do. I like you, so much."
Y/N scoffed. "Oh, do you?" She asked sarcastically.
"I do. And with all the lies and schemes that I had, you're the only thing I was sure of, what I feel for you. I like you." Cairo was never the one to express her feelings but if this was the last time she would see Y/N, then she's willing to lay it all there. "I think I'm even in love with you."
Y/N scoffed, wiping the tears in her eyes. "And why would I believe you? After all you've done, why would I?"
Cairo walked towards her, wanting just a bit of closeness from Y/N. "Because you're the realest thing that's ever happened to me."
Y/N shook her head, stepping back as she leaned on the closed door behind her.
"You don't get to do this. You can't just ruin people's lives and expect them to believe you!"
"I don't expect you to believe me, I just want you to listen, I just want you to know what I feel." Cairo said, walking closer to Y/N.
"Leave, now." Y/N spoke, turning away from Cairo.
The shorter girl watched Y/N breathing heavily. She felt she was hurting Y/N the longer she stayed. So she nodded even though Y/N couldn't see her. And with one final attempt, she walked closer to Y/N, tiptoed and gave Y/N one final kiss on the cheek before she walked out of the taller girl's life once and for all.
"I love you." Cairo whispered, and then she was gone.
Y/N watched Cairo go, losing her faster than she had her.
Cairo and Y/N's paths did not meet even when they're in the same English class. Cairo was suspended for 2 weeks after the whole ordeal and it was then that the school introduced a substitute teacher in Mr. Miller's absence. The teacher was great, she was as into literature as Mr. Miller but she was not as good as Mr. Miller was.
Winnie and Y/N stuck together the entire time. They would meet each other for lunch, go grab breakfast together, wait for each other after class, and walk home together as well. Y/N doesn't know how or why, but she assumed it was because of their shared trauma and the betrayal they both got from Cairo.
"She's coming back tomorrow. Are you ready to face her?" Winnie asked while they were on their way home.
Y/N pursed her lips as she shrugged. Honestly, the thought of seeing Cairo again made her feel nothing. There was just nothing.
"I actually don't know."
Winnie nodded and there was silence again until Y/N spoke.
"Have you talked to her lately?" Winnie asked.
Y/N shook her head. "She's been texting and calling but I haven't responded to any of it. Although, she said something to me a couple of weeks ago. I don't know what to make of it."
"What?"
"She told me she loves me."
Winnie stopped on her track for a moment, looking at Y/N with wide eyes.
"That's... a shocker." Winnie said, going back to her senses as she continued to walk with Y/N.
"Tell me about it."
"Who would've thought that you, Y/N Y/L/N, would be the one to melt that vengeful and cold heart of Cairo Sweet." Winnie said, shocked and amazed.
"I don't even know if she was telling the truth." Y/N said truthfully.
"One thing I know about Cairo, is that she's never let those words leave her mouth. Not to her parents, not even to Mr. Miller. So you should wear that like a fucking medal." Winnie said, giving her a soft slap on the arm.
"Shut up." Y/N chuckled, rolling her eyes.
"Let me see that medal." Winnie told her, pulling her body to see the invisible medal she was supposedly wearing.
"Get away from me, you creep." Y/N joked as she turned her body away.
Winnie kept messing with her until she spoke.
"Are you gonna go to work tonight?" Y/N asked, turning to Winnie who gave her a confused look.
"Why?"
"Would you like to have dinner with me and my mum before you go to work? She's home right now, no hospital duty."
Winnie gave her a teasing smile. "You want to introduce me to your momma?"
Y/N rolled her eyes before she chuckled. "I'm being a good friend here, at least appreciate that."
Winnie laughed. "Alright, superstar. Lead the way."
Y/N rolled her eyes. "It's like you don't know where it is."
"Shut up!" Winnie laughed, pushing Y/N who was laughing as well.
The duo kept teasing and pushing each other until they were on Y/N's door.
"Mum, I brought a friend with me." Y/N called out as she led Winnie inside their house and into the living room where Y/M/N's fixing the table.
"Is it Jasmine?" Y/M/N asked but was a bit shocked when she saw Winnie. "Oh, it's not Jasmine."
Y/N chuckled as she walked to her mum and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "This is Winnie, she's a friend from English class."
Y/M/N nodded before she turned to Winnie and gave her a warm hug. "Welcome Winnie. It's very nice to meet you, I'm Y/M/N."
Winnie smiled widely. "Pretty nice to meet you too, Mrs. Y/L/N."
Y/M/N waved a hand. "Y/M/N is fine, darling. Come sit and let's eat."
"I've seen you before, haven't I?" Y/M/N asked Winnie when they finally started eating.
The duo looked at each other with questioning looks before turning to the older woman.
"Oh, I remember!" Y/M/N clapped her hand, pointing at Winnie with a wide smile. "You were friends with that girl who Y/N kissed at the championship game!"
That was awkward!
The duo let out an awkward laugh as they kept kicking each other under the table.
"I uhm... I was indeed there with the girl Y/N kissed, yeah." Winnie answered awkwardly.
Y/M/N noticed the weird atmosphere so she dropped the subject, but not before she asked some questions.
"Were they together?" Y/M/N asked, causing the two to look at each other once more.
"For a hot minute, yeah." Winnie's gonna take one for the team here since she knows Y/N is still not ready to talk about Cairo.
"What happened?" Y/M/N asked again.
"Mum." Y/N wanted the topic to end but her mother shot her a look that shut her up.
"Well, uhm... it really was complicated and I don't want to be the one to say something about it. I'm sorry, Y/M/N."
The older woman nodded before she turned to Y/N with a knowing look. "Speak or you shall not eat a single drop of food from my fridge."
That is a threat. That is a scary threat and Y/N is not about to contest that.
Winnie watched the mother-daughter with amusement.
Y/N sighed. "We dated, for a bit. And then something happened and we broke up."
Y/M/N squinted her eyes, piecing two and two together. "Is it because of what happened with your English teacher? What's his name? Mr. Miller?"
"Mum." Y/N tried but she could see that her mother's not stopping until she knows something. "Yes, it had something to do with what happened to Mr. Miller."
"Is it similar to what happened to your father?" Y/M/N asked, a shake was heard in her voice.
"Let's stop talking about this, yeah? Let's just eat." Y/N said, holding her mother's hand as she smiled at the older woman.
Y/M/N stared at her daughter for a while, pain written in her eyes, but this time, not because of her late husband but because of her daughter. She felt so bad for her daughter, she felt pain knowing that her girlfriend hurt her this bad.
"Let's eat then." Y/M/N said, turning to Winnie who was giving her a sweet comforting smile. "Enjoy the food, Winnie."
Winnie smiled and nodded before they continued eating. The awkward atmosphere was soon replaced with laughter and teasing from the two kids. Y/M/N just watched them, even joining from time to time to tease her daughter. After dinner, Winnie bid them goodbye to go to her work.
"Thank you for the dinner, Y/M/N. Everything was so delicious." Winnie said from the living room while fixing her things.
"Come by anytime, sweetheart. It was lovely having you here."
"Good night." Winnie said before she was out with Y/N on the porch.
"Careful on your way to work." Y/N told Winnie and gave her a hug.
"Thank you for the wonderful dinner, your mom's wonderful." Winnie said before she went to her work.

also i don’t mean to attack you or anything i just didnt understand? wanted to give my insight and maybe gain some understanding? i was reading along and held out hope but it felt gross to give mr.miller that out and sympathy he didn’t deserve. quite a choice really. i do understand what your intentions were behind what you were doing but i think its very centered in making cairo out to be some villain which she’s not. the movie itself was its own thing but to see the take away having been “cairo was wrong. let’s see what could have been if miller had got the justice he deserved” just feels disgusting and leaves a bad taste despite the intention. because cairo was the victim, no matter how you spin it. miller has the upper hand and knew better
so if we're to do an alternative version of this, what would you suggest we do to spin the story so R would see the bigger picture and not just jump into conclusion? Like, how would we play that out? Because as you've said, she was clouded by her emotions, by what happened to her father.
I don't think of it as an attack. Love me some great insights. Thank you so much! ❤

i think it’s weird and wrong for reader to be helping mr.miller. he’s the adult in the situation who should’ve known better and r getting mixed in because of what happened to her own father doesn’t justify it. if anything she just seems less reliable because she has a personal issue going on to a similar situation under completely different circumstances. regardless of cairos intentions mr.miller wasn’t the victim he became the problem the second he fed into cairo and the fact that they kissed? should’ve been enough for him to be fired.
I knew it was gonna be a problem, but the overcompensation in R's mind is what we want to show. She was when she told Mr. Miller that it was personal, hence, it's not about helping Mr. Miller for her, it's about what she could've done to help her father when the same situation came up all those years ago. So there's that.
Thank you for the insight. I appreciate you ❤

I LOVE 'My Sweet Cairo'
I'm in love with the way you describe the characters and the whole plot! I enjoyed today's chapter... tho I still don't like Miller. If I'm being honest I hate him. And I don't understand completely why Reader is okay with him being in love with Cairo.
Besides that I truly admire your way of words! Can't wait for the next ones!!!
Hope you are doing well!
-🥧
Initially, I was going to route the story with R being shallow and narrowminded that she would help Cairo ruin Mr. Miller. But then we see that there's a huge comparison to R's dad and Mr. Miller. So, it's a bit of an overcompensation in R's side, knowing that she had the power to stop what is to come of Mr. Miller, thinking that she should do what she should've done to help her father. So there's that. Truth be told, Miller is a hypocrite, he's an asshole and we know that. He was a goodie two shoe and when Coach Fillmore gave him a reality check, he couldn't even accept that Fillmore was right.
Thank you so much for the insight, I appreciate you ❤

A/N: This chapter is a bit of a let down in my opinion, but we finally got something about what happened to Y/N's dad. Happy Reading!
Tumblr media
Cairo met up with Y/N before the day of the meeting. Cairo was smiling, walking to her like there was nothing wrong. But Cairo's smile faltered immediately as soon as she saw Y/N's distant face. She was not smiling, she didn't look happy like she usually does, she was not welcoming Cairo in her arms. There was nothing.
"What's wrong, babe?" Cairo finally asked when she got in front of Y/N.
"Drop the charges against Mr. Miller." Y/N went straight to business.
Cairo furrowed her brows. "What? I was just doing what was supposed to be done. He was going to fail me for midterms." Cairo reasoned but Y/N was having none of it.
"He gave you a chance, didn't he? He told you to write another story. Why didn't you?"
"Because! I wanted to write something different, I know I can and I did! If he can't accept that I did way better than he would ever be, then I'm sorry."
"Why are you doing this, Cairo? You're gonna ruin his life, his career, for what? He's a great teacher and you know that, so why?!" Y/N shouted, making Cairo flinch as she saw the anger in Y/N's eyes.
"Baby, please." Cairo tried to hold Y/N's hand but it was swatted away, making Cairo furrow her brows, pain written all over her eyes. "You're supposed to be on my side. I'm your girlfriend, I am the victim here."
Y/N stayed quiet, staring at Cairo who was looking at her with pained, pleading eyes.
"You seduced him, didn't you?" Y/N finally spoke, vindication in her voice. Cairo's eyes widened with the accusation, tears streaming down her face. "You seduced him, because you thought he was an easy target. You seduced him so you could get an inspiration to write on your admission essay. And then you turned to me."
Cairo's head was shaking at this point but Y/N continued on. "You know as well as I do that even if I fail a class, my GPA would still be far ahead of yours. I'm in the way of you being the valedictorian, of you putting something in your portfolio. You used me, just like how you used Mr. Miller and Winnie. Because that's what you do, Cairo, you use people."
"You don't know what you're talking about, Y/N so stop right now." Cairo said, her voice shaking as she stared at Y/N who was standing tall in front of her, her eyes cold and emotionless.
"You know what you are, Cairo? You're a fucking trash in this world. You and your kind, spoiled rich girls who would do anything just to get what they want, to get what they need just because they can. Everyone who loved you... Winnie, Mr. Miller, me, even your fucking parents gave up on you because you're a fucking trash!" Y/N got a slap on the face because of that. But Cairo immediately regretted what she did.
The taller girl turned to face her with a devilish smirk. "Your kind killed my father... and I will not let you do the same to Mr. Miller." Y/N said before she walked away from Cairo who slumped on the wall, tears flowing down her eyes, sobs being heard in the silence of the night.
The meeting started with the directors questioning Mr. Miller and Cairo in the same room. There were certain instances that they would have the same answer but usually, Mr. Miller's answers were on the safe side while Cairo's stuck with her answers during her talk with the Vice Principal.
Everything was falling down bit by bit for Mr. Miller when Y/N was called inside the room to be questioned as well.
"Will you testify against Ms. Sweet?" One of the board members asked Y/N who nodded.
"Yes, sir." She answered, not even giving Cairo a glance.
"How do we know your credibility on the matter?" Another director asked.
"Cairo Sweet is my girlfriend, or rather, was my girlfriend. I know it would seem a little bit off and you might think I'm doing this to get my revenge on her but I'm not. I've been Mr. Miller's student way before she was his student so I can vouch that I know Mr. Miller better than Cairo's ever known him." She spoke with precision and confidence.
The board of directors looked at one another before the head nodded. "Thank you." Y/N said.
"What do you know about Mr. Miller's extracurricular activities outside the class? Did you ever see them leave the school together? Did Mr. Miller give favouritism towards Ms. Sweet? Anything you know." One of the directors asked.
"I might've seen them together once or twice outside of school, but it did not seem anything intimate. I saw them at Vanderbilt once, they were talking, I didn't see anything wrong with it though. It's a poetry parlour, they're both writers." Y/N said, slightly twisting the truth for Mr. Miller's favour.
"And the other instance you saw them together?"
"I was riding my bike on the way home, I'd pass by Cairo's house before I got to mine. I saw Mr. Miller pulled up in front of Cairo's house. I thought it was weird seeing him there but I also saw him giving back her phone. He left after that. She even told me that herself."
"What?! What are you talking about? You weren't there!" Cairo was getting frustrated. If anything, she knows Y/N's stories sounded more credible than hers, but for some reason, she still couldn't find it in her heart to hate this person who's ruining her life.
"Mr. Miller did not deny when he was asked if he entered the house, Y/N, I'm giving you one chance to tell the truth." Vice Principal Manor told Y/N who turned to her with a pointed look.
"Miss, you know as well as I do that the accusation of a student against a teacher for inappropriate relations outside of school is not easily overlooked. Whatever Mr. Miller's gonna say to you, there would always be suspicions in your mind if he was telling the truth or not and yet, you could easily believe a student without proof? Why is that?" Y/N said, slamming her hand on the table, making them jump in their seats.
"Calm down, Ms. Y/L/N. We just want to get to the bottom of this, on why Ms. Sweet passed an inappropriate print of a short story, telling us that Mr. Miller agreed to it." One of the directors said.
"But he didn't. He gave her another chance to change the short story, he did not accept that story. Look, I lost my father, because of a case like this—" she was about to be stopped but she stood her ground. "No, I promise you this is relevant. Please." She said, looking at all of them. And when no one said anything or protested, she continued.
"My father was a professor back in Australia, one semester he had a student who was so wise for her age. He was amazed by her. Like Mr. Miller here, he showed favouritism, gave her special treatment, if you must say. But like Cairo here, she mistaken my father's favouritism for something different, something inappropriate. And when my father told her that it was strictly a student-teacher thing, she blew up. Reported my father, told baseless lies about him until he was gone, his career, his reputation, all gone. No one stood up for him. And then he shot himself in the head."
Y/N could see the uncomfortable fidgets of everyone inside the room. She could hear their thoughts loud and clear. But she was not done yet.
"So why do you think, Ma'ams and sirs, would I lie about something as incriminating as this? You're crucifying this man, who by the way, did nothing wrong. What? Because of a student, whose ego is so bruised by the rejection of her teacher? She was the one who came on to him, not the other way around, I can assure you that much." And she was done.
There was silence inside the room for a couple of moments before the head cleared his throat and straightened himself up. He gave Y/N a small smile before he nodded.
"We'll take your words in heavy consideration with regards to this case, Ms. Y/L/N. Thank you." He said.
Y/N nodded once. "I hope you make the right decision. Thank you for letting me talk." And she was out of the door just like that.
She waited outside of the meeting anxiously, her legs are bouncing and she's even paced back and forth until the door opens and out goes Mr. Miller.
"What did they say? Did you lose your job?" Y/N asked anxiously, staring at her teacher who smiled at her.
"Suspended. For the entire semester so I won't see you be a valedictorian. They took your words for it. Thank you." Mr. Miller said, holding a hand on Y/N's shoulder.
The taller girl smiled widely. "You're not gonna lose your job. But what are they gonna do? Students would speculate and all that. Are they gonna release an announcement?" She asked, her brows furrowed.
Mr. Miller nodded. "To prevent further rumours and speculations from ensuing, they're gonna release an announcement saying that all charges against me are dropped and untrue."
"How about the lady wife?"
"We've already filed for divorce. It's better that way."
"That's too bad. But hey, for what it's worth, maybe you'll find inspiration to write again." Y/N said with a huge smile, slight back handing her teacher's arm which made him laugh.
"And how would you know that?" Mr. Miller asked, looking at her with a knowing smile.
"Because I know that when I get to Harvard and you happen to have it in yourself to finally release a book, that I would brag to my mates that my English teacher back in Tennessee wrote it and would laugh at how unique it would be." Y/N said, a flash of pride seen in her eyes as she said that.
"You talk too much, let's get some coffee."
"You gotta apologize for being a dick to Coach Boris, you know? He's kinda like your only friend in this town." Y/N told her teacher when they got their coffee and finally sat down.
Mr. Miller hummed, looking kind of guilty as well. "I really do need to." He agreed.
"Buy his biscuits." She joked which made him laugh. "No, but seriously, Mr. Miller. Take accountability for what you said to him. He's not actually quite wrong, you know? He wasn't cleaning his own dirt, he knows it's there, but he owns up to it. I'm not saying that what he's doing is right, but you know what I mean."
Mr. Miller nodded, giving her a small smile. "Sometimes I forget that you're still young." He said, smiling proudly like a father.
"People tend to think of me that way, yeah." She smiled before they continued to talk about literature and harvard.
