“Then I will, happily, show you around” Piper beamed happily at the red head. “We’ve got an extra bed, so if it gets too late, don’t worry about heading back” she adds in insistence. What that really meant is that Piper slept at her desk anyways, so Cait could have her’s need be.
“Anywhere you’d like to sample local culture first?” Piper asks with a smile and putting her arm outwards the other.
“That actually sounds pretty appetizing – the food, I mean. The food they served in the Combat Zone wasn’t any manner of fresh.” Cait hadn’t had too many home-cooked meals in her life; Piper’s offers were quite enticing.
“–But, yeah, I’ll go for a tour. I haven’t spent much time around this place, so it would be helpful, if you’re willin’ to have me tag along.”

Piper laughs, squeezes Quinn’s hand back with all her strength and takes the powder. “Better not bleach my coat” she replies, trying to ignore the noise out the door as she wipes the powder over her arms and chest, some goes on her hat and she applies a bit to Quinn’s arm before opening up another box.
“F-Fuck everything” she mumbles out,the cardboard cutting into her skin, but that’s the least of their worries.
“Hey. FOCUS on me, Pipes. You can do this.” She’s shaking, body racked with tremors and adrenaline thundering through veins. The fear’s contagious, and it takes all of Quinn’s will not to cave to it. Forces herself to crouch, reach out to Piper and take the reporter’s hands in her own, reassuring. Even manages to crack a smile, hoping to abate the spike of terror.
“Can use a lot of household ingredients for nasty things. Least this is a good thing–besides, I’d rather smell clean and fresh than be deathclaw chow, you dig?” She tears open the box, dips her hand in and pulls away a fistful of detergent powder–offers it to Piper. The floorboards outside the bathroom creak, just barely masked from the storm.
