This video from 8 years ago, of a woman harassing men on the subway for the purported crime of "manspreading", was just recommended to me on YouTube. I clicked to have a look at it, and was enormously heartened to see the like/dislike ratio that has arisen in that time: less than three thousand upvotes to a hundred and twenty nine thousand people sick of this exhaustingly predictable feminist bullshit hysteria about nothing.
It made me reflect on how I hadn't heard that ridiculous term in years, but also how much the culture has changed since then: in 2016, feminist propaganda would be pumped out by the mainstream media and entertainment industry every day of the week with very little pushback. 8 years on, and almost every movie pushing girlbosses and man-hate is losing hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office and virtue signaling games companies are going bankrupt. "Get Woke Go Broke" is now no longer a slogan but a generally accurate description of business practices today.
Change is slow and subtle, but it's always good to catch a glimpse of it here and there.
Oh and all 12,000 of the comments are gold, too:

There was a lighthouse near my grandparents my family would visit. It also makes for a good equivalent to a steampunk wizard's tower. The wizard might not be in the tower itself, but the grounds certainly had room for everything a wizard might want.
If you're in the need for some kind of magical artifact of magic for your setting, consider Fresnel Lenses which are used in lighthouses:

It shouldn't be considered normal or ignored if someone goes weeks or months without being touched or days or weeks without being able to talk to people, I feel like that should be considered an emergency, yet here we are.

I might be a little biased but I’m honestly starting to believe that there’s no purer form of love than the defensive spite you see from biologists that have devoted their life to the study of a maligned or misunderstood species. For example:
The hyena biologist that arranged for Disney animators to come sketch captive  hyenas for The Lion King film (Laurence Frank) was so incensed when the animals were depicted as villains in the movie that he later included boycotting the film on a list of ways the average person could help hyena conservation.
Though it’s commonly known that Charles Darwin’s distaste for parasitic wasps played a role in his development of evolution theory (since he felt no loving God would create animals with such a disturbing life cycle), the biologists who study these wasps find it an unfair characterization. When they were tasked with coming up with a common name for the family of parasitic wasps (Ichneumonidae) that old Charles so disliked, they proposed the name “Darwin Wasps” to spite the famous naturalist who had insulted their beloved family of insects.
Parasitologist Tommy Leung was so frustrated with the way people write about parasites to evoke horror and gore that he started writing a Parasite of the Day blog, that specifically avoids inflammatory or unsettling language to describe them. He also illustrates different species in colorful anime art on Twitter in a series called Parasite Monster Girls—which he calls his “love letter to parasites.”
I guess I’m just saying that if you’re a biologist studying an unpopular species and you have a little bit of a chip on your shoulder about it you can always count on me to be in your corner if you want to get a little petty with the public!

Kinda hilarious how Loid and Anya have been working their asses off for ages trying to get close to the Desmond family, barely making any progress and Yor just goes and succeeds without even trying.

How far does the prophecy from The Lightning Thief stretch across the Percy Jackson and The Olympians series? Spoilers Ahead!
"You shall go west and face the god who has turned."
1. In The Lightning Thief, Percy, alongside his friends Annabeth and Grover, travels from New York to Los Angeles to retrieve his mother, Sally, from the underworld and confront the god who stole Zeus's lightning bolt.
2. In The Lightning Thief, Percy, Annabeth, and Grover discover Ares is in alliance with a revolt to free Kronos. Percy fights Ares and successfully secures Zeus's lightning bolt.
"You shall find what was stolen and see it safely returned."
1. In The Lightning Thief, Percy returns Zeus's lightning bolt. Conversely, Hades, who kidnapped Sally, returns her home.
2. In The Sea of Monsters, Polyphemus the Cyclops is stated to have stolen the Golden Fleece to improve the nature of his Island and lure Satyrs to their death. Conversely, Luke Castellan and his crew are stated to try and steal the Golden Fleece to quicken Kronos's resurrection.
3. In The Titan's Curse, Atlas holds Annabeth and Artemis hostage, and Percy, alongside his quest partners Grover, Thalia, Bianca, and Zoe, travels west and rescues them.
"You shall be betrayed by one who calls you friend."
1. In The Lightning Thief, Luke lures Percy into the woods, reveals he stole the lightning bolt and that he's working with Kronos to bring about the downfall of Olympus. In doing so, Luke, Percy's former friend, tries to hurt him and, inadvertently, sets Percy's story in motion.
2. In The Battle of the Labyrinth, Percy, Annabeth, Nico, and Rachel discover that Luke allows Kronos to use his body as a vessel to bring about the downfall of Olympus.
"And you shall fail to save what matters most in the end."
1. In The Lightning Thief, Percy fails to retrieve his mother from the underworld. Thus, his initial motivation for going on the quest remains unfulfilled.
2. In The Lightning Thief, Percy cannot convince Luke that bringing about the rise of Kronos is not an efficient way to dismantle a neglectful system between the Gods and demigods. This conversation is the catalyst for the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
3. In The Last Olympian, Percy hands Luke the knife. Luke stabs himself in his Achilles Spot, stopping Kronos from rising, and preserving Olympus. It took the death of a hero fallen from grace to dismantle a neglectful system. From the beginning, Luke was destined to be beyond saving.
