World's Most Expensive Car
This Car is among the top 10 most expensive things ever sold in an auction . Vintage Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Sells for a Record $143 Million to Private Collector(Rs 1108 crores)
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut was sold for almost triple the previous record price for a car, which was set in 2018 by a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO that went for over $48 million(Approximately Rs 503 crores).
The SLR's engine was enlarged to 3.0 litres for sports car racing, and is rated at 302bhp. This allowed for a top speed of 180 mph(288kmph) and a 0-62mph(0 to 100kmph)in whooping time of just 6.9 seconds, making it one of the fastest road legal cars of the time. Just two 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupés were made by Mercedes-Benz, taking their name from the firm's chief engineer, Rudolf Uhlenhaut.
