If you can't just simply say "true, that was a bad thing with no possible justification" about anything "your side" does then I'm sorry but your opinions are worthless to me

Me sleeping knowing that I’m Jewish and proud of my people culture and religion and that we’ll still be here even after every other civilization crumbles and disappears:

I don't get the need to lie and distort. The war in Gaza is bad enough on a purely factual basis that you don't need to make anything up. If anything, the lying and distorting weakens and damages the cause and arguments being made, and provides the people and entities you claim to oppose and despise with deniability and more ability to justify and challenge, and enables the worst actors all around.

Reminder: Jewish indigeneity is not a threat to any other ethnic group. It’s just a fact. Acknowledging Jews as indigenous to the levant doesn’t actually harm any Palestinians. Palestinian indigeneity does not actually rely on Jews NOT being indigenous. Multiple peoples can be indigenous to the same place.

I was grabbing screen shots of the Episode The City on the Edge of Forever and noticed one of the stores in the background has a Star of David on it. I was wondering what the writing says and someone in my discord said it might say Kosher and I think that’s so lovely.

Saw a post recently by someone talking about how they went to read People Love Dead Jews but stopped because Dara Horn talked about birthright trips and I'm sorry but. If even the mention of Israel's importance to Jews is enough for you to turn away from an important exploration of Jewish history and antisemitism, maybe you NEED to read that book.

I love us.
I love giggling in private messages during zoom Torah study with another queer woman because we’re 12 years old and studying the Song of Songs.
I love sitting in someone’s living room watching the Prince of Egypt and we keep pausing it because someone in the room has a Point and we need to discuss it. And it takes us four hours to watch a two hour film.
I love Hillel sandwiches. I really do.
I love these silly arguments over frog vs frogs and even more so because I know that our rabbis and sages have been arguing about this for literally centuries.
I love that I cry during l’cha dodi every fucking time. Doesn’t matter the tune. Every. Time.
I love that I can say the words “erotic love is holy and sacred too” in a zoom room full of old people and none of them shut down the conversation.
I love that we have a holiday that traditionally means you study Torah all night long.
I love that we have another one that celebrates we got to the end of Torah. Let’s have a dance party and start over!
I love swaying while I pray.
I love that I can disagree with my good friend on fundamentals of our religion and that’s a good thing.
I love that I’m starting to be able to make connections with strangers and say “oh! I know xyz! Do you know abc?”
So many more things but overall. I love us. I love being a part of Judaism. I love being allowed to be here and invited in.

this is what jvp wrote in response to the butchered Hebrew. what a fucking joke.
Jews: "hey dude your Hebrew is written from left to right, you didn't even have the common sense to double check your spelling"
JVP: "umm actually it's Zionism's fault for forcing Hebrew on their Jews and erasing their real indigenous languages 🤡"
Jews: "you realise.... the seder plate.... is always written in Hebrew..... the language of the Torah.... and it has no connection to modern Hebrew whatsoever........ you literally just had to google a seder plate and copy the fucking words........"
and just to prove this takes 5 seconds to verify:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
not only can you find a reference on google images pretty easily, you can also look it up on shopping sites like amazon to guarantee photos of empty plates (since a lot of the photos on google had the food items on them).
it's not hard to verify this, this even shows up if you google "passover plate" in case you somehow don't know what a seder is, there's no excuse for making a mistake on the most important item on the fucking table.

As a disabled and chronically ill person "Thank You G-d, who has made me in Your image." is infinitely more affirming and comforting for me than the variation that goes, "...who has made me according to Your will."
It's not that G-d intentionally gave me a body that causes me to suffer because They will it to fulfil some greater purpose.
It's that my body, even as sick and weathered as it is, is a living breathing reflection of the Divine.
Reminding me that my disabled and chronically ill body is sacred too.
