Born and raised in new york, Asher was an only child and the apple of his newlywed parents eyes. The family was super well off with his father being harvard lawyer graduate but decided to be a crime scene investigator and his mother a surgeon. To say the least, the parents were rarely home and asher was mostly watched by a hired nanny. It didn't take long for the couple to bring in another child now making asher a big brother at the age of just 3 years old. Asher and his brother grew up very close, watching over one another as their parents worked long hours. Most of their young childhood was filled with visiting family all over and going on family vacations out of the country. They lived the nice lavish life until the day of ashers 10th birthday when his little brother and mother got hit by a drunk driver and died at the hospital, It was now down to just him and his father. The first few years without his mother and little brother were rough, his father picked up a drinking problem and thats when the abuse started towards asher. Enterting high school, Asher had grown rebellious and began not going home and sleeping over at friends house instead of going home to some fake pretend family. As asher partied his way through high school and took his baseball team to the national finals what seemed like every year. Senior year came around and he had a scholarship waiting for him at several places but that was quickly ruined when he was arrested for a DUI along with a hit and run. His father bailed him out and asher was back living at home with no idea with what he was gonna do next since all the colleges dropped their interest in him. He graduated high school and ended up joining the military and leaving his home life behind him.  Several years later, Asher decided to leave the military but instead of moving back to new york he ended up following one of his buddies to Woodstock where he got himself a house and landed himself a job at the fire department, something he really always said he truly wanted to do. With his militrary background, it didn't take long for asher to move up in the chain of command at the fire depatment in the small town. He slowly tried to come get back into contact with his father since the two had really spoken since he graduated from boot camp but when he called the family house phone, it was answered by his step mom telling him that his father was arrested for murder and there were several other murders in the new york vicinity that he was being charged with. He graduated high school and went straight to the police academy while also going to college at the University of Houston on his degree in psychology.
