I got tired of drawing Kaladin with the same three colors he wears all the time so here's him with an Hawaiian shirt

some spren and how they appear in Shadesmar; It was fun to expand on the designs of Ben McSweeney and adjusting them a bit more to my personal liking. Also I don't think I've seen a depiction of a corrupted glory spren so far, so here is one. Also, Kaladin trying to be all sneaky, but anticipationspren having none of that!

Steris Harms from Mistborn Era II. Not happy with the result but I felt like drawing her! And I do think she’s recognizable… hopefully.

the light physics of Shadesmar are melting my mind and need further investigation...

szeth is so funny, he’s killed hundreds but there’s no discourse over him like there is for dalinar or moash. he’s just a bald little man with a sword

navani spends her entire adult life tethered to men who take her for granted and consider her, her passion and talent for fabrial science, her life as a being separate from the role of wife and mother and queen, as little more than a footnote, and in their very first interaction raboniel acknowledges her skill and her talent and calls her and her work remarkable. man. man what the hell

people are so quick to jump to sanderson's defense that its like they forget that they're fake fictional fantasy fake stories that dont exist in a vacuum and are also fake and so in-world logic literally doesnt matter when addressing issues like racism/homophobia/transphobia/misogyny

can’t help but comparing the stormlight archive and the broken earth trilogy bc they’re the two big fantasy series I’ve read lately and there is SUCH a big difference between the stormlight archive “most of our main characters are from the ruling class and while it is okay for our one darkeyed main character to be angry about the way he’s been treated it’s not fair of him to automatically assume the worst of all lighteyes :( because some of them are nice :(( and others can change :(((“ and the broken earth trilogy “we are going to start with a man literally ripping the planet in two and bringing about the end of this civilization because he is angry at the injustices he, his ancestors, and his children have suffered at the hands of the ruling class and whether he was ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ to do this is irrelevant because the point is if you build your society on violently oppressing people they are going to get justifiably angry and you can’t be surprised if they eventually rise up to destroy you <3”

thinking about the difference between navani seeing gavilar's body and her seeing raboniel die. if it wasn't supposed to be romantic why was row bookended by two very different death scenes. why was dalinar sent across the country while raboniel the one who treated navani the exact opposite of how we saw gavilar treat her in the prologue despite being sworn enemies. what the fuck man.

Evi Kholin was a grown, married immigrant woman who spent the latter part of her life (quietly) isolated and mocked and and underestimated and ostracized while seeing the reality of and potential in her husband and going extra mile after extra mile for him while he returned almost none of the same energy or effort. The price she paid for being so agreeable and complacent and uncompetitive was to be oversimplified and overlooked in death and life, by the people who knew her and by readers and that’s why a majority of characterizations of her as a pure, saintly, serene cinnamon roll who deserved better bother me so much.
