Haley wished that day had been a common day. There was a different tone painting the town she lived in ever since she was young; the small town who was once so lively, worried about the safety of its own citizens. There were people missing, people dying and with beloved ones being part of Tree Hill, Haley couldn’t help but worry.
She was constantly afraid that something would happen to her child or to her friends and everytime she was apart from them, Haley felt that ache inside her chest, trying to get rid off it constantly — and failing such task. Leaving the high school site behind, hearing some of her students wishing her a good afternoon before she finally got inside of her car, Haley made her way to the cafe, calling Jamie once again to know if he was alright and if uncle Lucas was there with him to take care of her son. We’re okay, mom, I promise you. Those were the words she tried to focus on, echoing inside her mind while she headed to the café. It was routine, she was used to going through the same steps day after day, working in the high school in the morning and working at the cafe with Brooke during the afternoons. And then, once she walked in, her eyes went straight to Brooke behind the counter, trying to understand her signals, her demeanor, the fact she was tilting her head to the side. “What?” Haley murmured but it didn’t take her longer than a couple of seconds to understand the reasoning behind Brooke’s action.
Her heart sunk the moment her eyes landed on him. Haley thought she’d never see him again ever since he fled from Tree Hill and she was left behind brokenhearted, and later aware that she was pregnant. Why was he here? And while it’d be wiser to move behind the counter and focus on working there, Haley grabbed her apron, placing it on top of her clothes, held tight to the notebook inside of her apron’s pocket and walked closer to where Dean was. Her body was drawn to his presence perhaps due to the amount of questions inside of her mind, or because after all those years, he still had that kind of power over her. “Dean… it’s been awhile.”  She was going through a whirlwind of emotions and didn’t know how to properly focus on her job at the moment. I — Well, did you order? Is there something I could get you?” It was a shame that the questions that left her mouth weren’t the ones she wanted to share.

Dean breathed in deeply as he set the menu down already knowing what he was ordering. Spotting the newspaper at an empty table just a few inches from him, Dean reached over and grabbed it. Settling back in his seat, his eyes scanned over the front page of the story which was about none other than the murders that were rocking the small town to it’s core. Dean sat there reading the gory details of the latest murder as well as someone missing from the scene of the crime, something Dean and Sam we’re definitely going to have to investigate before this monster strikes again.
His head jerked up as he heard his name, his eyes moving to the dashing female who had decided to grace him with her presence. His heart skipping a beat, racing as he came face to face with Haley. Who Dean had to say was looking more beautiful than ever. “Haley James....”. The hunter’s flirtatious signature grin growing on his lips as he greeted her. He couldn’t help himself or stop the grin from forming on his lips, the charm was just oozing out of him. He was going through a whirlwind of emotions after unexpectedly coming face to face with his former flame. n’t looking forward to coming face to face with her right now, after all he did hurt her by leaving but she didn’t seem mad so maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.
“It definitely has” Dean not knowing what to expect from this encounter. He was tempted to get up and greet the blonde with a hug but didn’t want to make things anymore awkward than they already seemed. Dean shook his head in response. “No not yet” he spoke biting on his lower lip. “Um....how..how are you”?

Back In Black | 001
Welcome to Tree Hill
Dean’s eyes scanned the familiar sign as he sped past his. A slight pang in his heart, he found himself going back to a place he never thought he’d be returning to this town because going back to just leave again would just kill him and he couldn’t put himself through that kind of pain again or put her through that pain again. Yet here he was a few years later going back to the town he vowed to never return to after his brother had discovered they had a serious case here with many residents going missing and turning up dead a few days later.
Dean leaned forward increasing the volume as Back In Black by AC/DC came on the radio mostly to block out his thought as well as his brother rambling on and on about the information he was gathering on the his computer. Before he could even focus on the case Dean just had one thing to do before he could focus on this. He just had to check on her just once and make sure she was alright and not in harm’s way but he also had fix the craving he had for a burger from Karen’s Cafe - one of the thickest, juiciest burgers he ever remembered having had his mouth watering and craving for one and when it came to good food Dean couldn’t wait. In a matter of minutes, Dean pulled up to the motel, leaning forward as he turned the radio down. “Get a room. I’m gonna find the nearest cafe. I’m craving a burger and pie” he told his brother. It wasn’t long until he was back driving his baby down the road, passing so many familiar locations - the River, the Rivercourt, Tree Hill High School, Tric. He knew he was close to his location when he seen the family owned cafe right down main street.
Parking his car near the parking garage, Dean made his way into the cafe. His hazel green eyes scanning the establishment. By the looks of it, the cafe definitely had made some improvements since he had last been here. He breathed in the smell of the intoxicating food through his nostrils as he took a seat in one of the booths looking at the menu in front of him.
