Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained. - Marie Curie * #addictionrecovery #positivity#confidence#confidenceinrecovery#sobervirginia#recovery#rehabvirginia#recoveryvirginia #rehab#sober

"Optimism is a happiness magnet. If you stay positive, good things and good people, will be drawn to you" - Positivity creates a domino effect: positive thinking encourages not only mentally, but emotionally AND physically. And it has the ability to surround those around you. Though it can't cure our problems, it can certainly encourage us to do better, and keep moving- even when it gets difficult. - #addictionrecovery #confidence #positivity#positivityinrecovery #sobervirginia#recovery #rehabvirginia #recoveryvirginia#rehab #sober #positivethinking#happiness

williamsvillewellnessYou may be wondering- why does Courage matter in recovery? Well, it takes a courage to even get clean and sober in the first place, and a strong person to remain sober. Courage is required in our journey to become a better person. It means having the guts to keep going, even in spite of fear or hardship. * "I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you now you're licked before you even begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what." -Harper Lee * #addictionrecovery #courage #strength#courageinrecovery #sobervirginia#recovery #rehabvirginia #recoveryvirginia#rehab #sober #findingcourage#couragetogetsober

An important step to take in your journey, is finding true self-awareness. Your addiction can give you an askew view of yourself- you may still see yourself as the person you used to be, before addiction, but that person disappeared a long time ago.
* You can never be that person again. But think of it as an opportunity to simply become someone better than that old version of yourself. Developing the small Strength of self-awareness allows you to have an unclouded view of yourself- the ability to recognize and admit that you have a problem and the ability to determine situations that can be good or bad for your recovery. * During recovery, you will come to find that you have many small strengths you never knew you had. Most don't notice these small changes- but you should. Every step in the right direction is worth some credit. Celebrate these small victories. * #addictionrecovery #courage #strength#strengthinrecovery #sobervirginia#recovery #rehabvirginia #recoveryvirginia#rehab #sober #stepone#admityouarepowerless

"If you could get up the courage to begin, you have the courage to succeed." - David Viscott * The first step, as we know, is admitting you have a problem and are powerless. That first step requires insurmountable amounts of courage to admit. Being honest with yourself, and with others, lays the foundation of change- the start to building a better life for yourself. Having courage is to understand that feelings need to be expressed and to know that it is alright to have feelings! - Having courage is realizing that we don’t have to go through life alone- in the good times & bad. - Having courage is to be able to tell others you love them- and the courage to finally love yourself. - Having courage is being able to make peace with the past, learning it’s’ sometimes hard lessons and moving forward, bruised but wiser. - Having courage means there are no limits to what you can do, because in sobriety, options become more plentiful and fruitful. - Having courage means being comfortable with being yourself and that you can grow and change, and as long as you are authentic and true to yourself, people will respect that person. - Most of all, having courage is not being afraid of being human." -Tim Stoddart

Vulnerability can be terrifying, but as addicts, we are well aware that this is the key to Recovery. but being vulnerable does not make you weak- and that is important to remember. - Being vulnerable in your recovery is the quickest way to gain back your Strength. Think of it like this- you are admitting to your past mistakes, letting it all go, telling the full truth. It is almost like your weaknesses are gone, because now you have nothing to hide and nothing to fear. - Are you prepared to let it all go? #addictionrecovery #recovery #strength#courage #findingyourstrength#sobervirginia #rehabvirginia#recoveryvirginia
