Charmander Family HCs

1. Charmander has the highest abandonment rate out of any Kanto Pokemon. Many ambitious trainers pick Charmander, but often fail to understand that it time to bring out a Charmander’s full potential. Abandoned Charmander often have obedience problems later, even if they are eventually owned by a loving trainer.

2. Even people from other regions who aren’t familiar with non-native Pokemon know Charizard. Unova in particular has many dedicated Charizard fan clubs.

3. There’s a battle tournament in Cinnabar (later moved to Mt. Ember post eruption) to show off every stage of the Charmander line. Charmander battle on a basic battlefield, Charmeleon on a rocky field, and Charizard in an aerial battle. The final battle in the Charizard section is over a lava field and winning is highly coveted because the winner’s Charizard gets an exhibition match with Lance’s Charizard.

4. Charmeleon are prone to taking huge risks if they think it means getting strong, so don’t let them jump in the ocean or do something stupid.

5. Clair and Lance have a fierce rivalry over whose Charizard is better. They also disagree on which of Charizard’s mega forms is better (Clair prefers X, Lance prefers Y). Battles between them get very explosive. And don’t get between them by declaring your Gigantamax Charizard is better, as Leon found out the hard way.

6. Charmander love dust baths.

Bulbasaur Family HCs

1. Despite being fairly easy to raise and having a lot of patience with new trainers, Bulbasaur is often overlooked in favor of the strong Charmander or lively Squirtle.

2. This line’s various powders (Sleep, Poison, Stun Spore) are often used in medicines and perfumes. Erika, the Celadon gym leader, is experimenting with Sleep Powder to help with narcolepsy.

3. Ivysaur is one of the most popular Grass types for contests. Coordinators like to mimic a famous video game Ivysaur’s moves.

4. Kanto Pokemon Breeders often keep a member of this line handy. They work well and serve as role models for younger Pokemon.

5. Evolution is a social activity and celebration. Bulbasaur and Ivysaur will often starve off evolution until they’re with other members of their species. If a trainer finds their Pokemon actively resisting evolution, they’ll need to locate another Bulbasaur/Ivysaur/Venusaur immediately.

6. To settle disagreements, Venusaur will draw in as much sunlight as they can and fire a powerful Solarbeam into the sky. Other members of the group vote on which Solarbeam was more impressive. Everyone prefers to settle arguments quickly and peacefully.

7. Bulbasaur’s popularity skyrocketed in recent years. Unfortunately, some Bulbasaur fans haven’t learned from the evolutionary line’s peaceful demeanor and tend to be rather argumentative with Charmander and Squirtle fans.

Johto Journeys Ep 1 Rewatch

I’m gonna do a Johto series rewatch, because I have a soft spot for the Johto anime even if it’s got a lot of filler. Personally I kinda like this series better over Kanto because at least everyone’s not out trying to murder them XD

Ep 1: Don’t Touch That ‘Dile

The Johto Journeys theme is so hype. It’s one of my favorite theme songs in the entire series.

I love how Team Rocket’s goal is always food when it doesn’t involve stealing Pikachu. They never learn not to blow their budget on mechas.

I think Elm could use a break.

I love how they use New Bark’s slogan “winds of a new beginning” from the games.

I like how they just run into the middle of a crime scene and Officer Jenny doesn’t do much to stop them. Probably because 10 year olds will do a better job than her.

The Johto starters are really cute. One of my favorite sets of starters in the series!
