My favorite Tolkien illustrations by Cor Blok in no particular order:
Bilbo and Gollum. Bilbo is the moon for some reason which is cool i guess
Smeagol and Deagol. I love the seaweed in the background, great attention to detail
Frodo serving Robin Hood-realness at his and Bilbo’s birthday party. Literally iconic
Isildur taking the ring from Sauron. Its great but I would like to see more of Sauron than just his hand, because I think he has the potential to look really cool
Pippin jumping into the bath at Crickhollow… no comment
Bilbo gives the Mithril coat to Frodo. Great poses, very stiff and awkward. I like it.
The fellowship. This one is a classic.
Gandalf and the balrog. Amazing
Boromir trying to take the ring from Frodo. I love the way he reaches for his sword, it looks very natural
Merry and Pippin and Treebeard. I like his legs and the fact that it looks like he’s wearing shorts.

nebula on the ship with tony running out of oxygen which she can’t because that organic function was ripped out a long time ago and hearing this person who has been her only company for months now leave a last message for his love after watching the young man he thought of as a son turn to dust just fucking kills her and stokes the fire of rage and pain and she puts her hand on his shoulder and doesnt know how to comfort people, never had to, especially one that’s dying underneath her hand and the only thing she can say is “I’ll kill thanos for you” because killing him has been her comfort for so long so he should take comfort in it too but he just shakes his head because he’s also lived with her for months and heard her story and the idea of her killing him in any capacity that isn’t her own righteous vengeance is horrible to him.
