A tiny part of Liane thought about taking the baby, starting over from scratch since eric was proving to be a failure but why bother? she probably wasn’t meant for motherhood.
But he was so precious.
She smiled wide handing him a giant chocolate chip cookie where the chocolate was just oozing out of the sweet treat. “Here you go, sweetie. is your mother nearby you shouldn’t be out here all by yourself the streets are dangerous.”

Oddly enough his eyes were open the whole time staring at the fat boy as if to say, “She’s mine now.”
Liane looked at peace giggling, she hadn’t loooked this happy in months. maybe years.

Unpopular opinion, but Liane is trying her best as a mother. Is she a good parent or a good rolemodel? Obviously not, but I like to think that she loves Eric very much and she's doing everything she can given the circumstances.

The phrase "Liane made Eric wear the Hitler costume" (implying she is the one responsible for his anti-Semitism) doesn't sit well with me, and I've seen it being used quite a lot.
When Eric was asked about the costume, what he said was: "My mom made it".
That could very well mean that he asked Liane to make it, and she did. (It's not like she'd refuse to, since she helped him join the Special Olympics.) He was also aware of who the costume was representing.
It's just that some people make it seem like Liane literally grabbed Eric and forced him into the costume.
And I'm not a big fan of the "Liane is responsible for everything that's wrong with Eric" headcanon.
