I was thinking my art might be good enough that I would be capable of sequential storytelling so I decided to try and turn an old Dar Williams song into a comic. It took ages, by far the biggest art project I've tried since I started teaching myself, and taught me a lot (including that people who draw regular comics are extraordinary) but seeing it all lined up I'm pleased with where I got to:

Big long OC post inspired by @justmissart !
This is Arista (called Ari or Riss, depending on my mood).
She began her life as a HP OC and BOY HOWDY has she evolved over the years. She is 100% my comfort OC.
She is a mage, of sorts. She channels magic directly through her body without a specific focus, unlike Iry (who uses her tattoos) or Ell (who uses any number of things). This leads to her being much more physical and "jump first check for safety later".
The first sketch there is from 09? The 2nd is from 2017? 2018?
The last 2 are from this year.
The growth.
This is Ell.
Ell was another fan OC, originally. She was made during my first introduction to The Dresden Files.
Her story has been largely the same since she was created. She was always intended to be a PI/Magical Contractor. Unlike Riss, she focuses her magic through either drawn symbols or the specific arrangement of items. She would describe the difference between her and Riss as: "I'm more of like... A conductor, you know, of a band or something. And Riss? She's a dam, letting just a little bit of water through at a time. You know?"
That first scribble is from 07??? The second is from??? 09??? The last one is from this year!
And finally (for now) is B4-B3, or Bee.
Bee was made for a Starfinder game! I wanted her to be good @ protek. She was a soldier with a bend towards the arcane. Also, an android.
Her biggest inspiration is Eliot Leverage.... So.
She has gained such emotional depth over her life and I have to thank my friend Miss for that. Idk that I'd love Bee nearly as much if I didn't have such a dedicated friend. 😭🙏💖
