2016 Recap
Let’s keep this simple:
1. Work work work work work work. Dominated my life, but in a good way. It’s made me think more about what I want in life, what my priorities are, and what I’m capable of.
2. Travel - but for fun too! Three amazing vacations - two that threw me outside my comfort zone (you know what I’m talking about), and one that was nonstop luxurious. Our best vacation yet.
3. Friendship is hard. Friendship takes work, but friendship is worth it. The ones that are meant to be will stick around.
4. This is the longest I’ve lived in one apartment. This is also the first apartment I’ve lived in that I was excited to renew the lease.
5. Nice things. I’ve really reframed my perspective on money, and whether that’s because I have an expense account now, or I simply just have a disposable income, who knows. Spend on yourself and spend on others.
6. Why does everything have to be in lists of 10? It’s so much pressure to think of 10 meaningful things. Wouldn’t it be better to focus on quality?
7. Growing up. Learning that your parents are fallible creatures. Learning that they’re not always right. Learning that they’re oftentimes wrong. Learning that you have to love them regardless, but that you shouldn’t always listen to them.
8. And you. Always you.

Kate Middleton Played Cricket in High Heels
Anything you can do, the Duchess of Cambridge can do better — and in high heels!
On Kate Middleton’s first day touring India, the royal visited Maiden Oval, a park in Mumbai, to play with local children associated with various non-governmental organizations. Wearing a sari-like dress in a vibrant pattern from local designer Anita Dongre, the 34-year-old mom didn’t kick off her wedge shoes to join in on the fun. Instead, she took a turn up at bat and kicked around a soccer ball, all while wearing shoes unfit for the activity.
Doing anything in heels is a feat, let alone participating in a sport (they’re definitely sideline kicks). But she’s proven to be skilled at not letting her footwear get in the way of having a good time. In the past, she’s played volleyball, field hockey, and even Three Tins in wedges.
Beat that, boys!
